Dear Kanye, please fall off of my face. Signed ... Some dude

My opinion (and I am entitled to my opinion)... his moves are calculated. He knew exactly what he was doing.
He has made racist remarks in the past. One that sticks out in particular is his line about white people making money and not spending it.
He called out the President by saying he doesnt care or like black people during the Katrina disaster....
He made comments about white people trying to act black when they rap.

Sorry.. but this to me comes off as racial comments.

You're the real racist, though...

Bush's Katrina response was apallling

I feel sorry for all of music if 50 is ever nominated in those categories.

I'm not sure what you want? I didn't say 50 is making great music or deserving of any nomination. Just that there are cross genre categories. And had a 50 cent or other artists who Kanye either likes or wouldn't dare step upto had won he would have sat in his chair and kept his mouth shut.

On point. I'm dying here. Haha

Mate we all know what game you're out to play. They'll post a song they think is good, you'll be all like "Haha what? That's awful!" The there'll be half a page of people telling you you're wrong. Trust me I'm a fortune teller

.

Well it's a catch 22, right? I say I don't see him as being talented, then people insist I've never listened to his music (and I have). So I ask for a song that's great and then I get asked to show 3-5 bad songs and so on and so on... All of this becomes an argument of semantics without even criticizing the music itself- that's the real problem. People take what I say about Kanye personally and change the conversation to something reminiscent of a school yard fight- how did the conversation become about me and whether or not I'm well-versed? Why can't we talk about the actual music? Ohh because I'll tear it apart? That seems like it might be a more fruitful approach than the former...

If Bush cared that much he did a shit job of showing it.

"You know white people get money don't spend it" is a lyric.
Calling out Bush was true and gold.
White appropriation of black hip-hop culture can't even be disputed--Iggy gets rewarded for it.

"Outspoken black people scare me"

I was going by what everyone has said Beck has been around for. But what I find hilarious is that Destiny Childs debuted in 1990 and Beck debuted in 1994. Who's really been around longer.... But whatever. It's petty to buy someone's album strictly out of hate for someone else's comment. It only validates Kanye star power tbh.

Debuted in 1990? By that then Beck "debuted" in the mid-late 80s. Even still he released his first album (1993) five years before Destiny's Child released theirs.

Love Kanye. Dude, inspires me on every level especially when making music and I enjoy some this dude's antics.

In the least tho, you can tell, this dude's passionate about all this shit, hah.

Wait, people don't think Kanye has NPD?

Someone that thinks that their definitions of insanely vague terms like "artistry" are objective or their claims of "this inspires everyone more than other artists" are objective, come on, haha, don't be silly. "Fight for creativity." Christ, haha, it's just funny to me. I think most people that have studied society's ideas of art/craft/authenticity in an academic setting laugh at this kind of stuff. It's goofy. You see through it.

Opinions. Get over it. Accept it.

Same guy?! Whoa...OP...please, tell us more.

Simple.. I don't think Marshawn Lynch represents the NFL like he should by doing stunts like refusing to speak to the media.

Would it make you feel better if I said that I don't think its appropriate for Eminem to talk about homosexuals? Because I don't think it is.

See, doing exactly what I said. You didn't read a word I wrote. I didn't say Kanye's contradiction-filled rant was worthy. But the fact that he got angry enough TO do this shit again is. The Grammys are utter bullshit. I don't watch them, I only found out half an hour ago what had happened. And I've made it VERY clear I don't agree with Kanye's statements, and have pointed out how full of shit his rant was, but somehow I'm wrong?

BECK won album of the year. REALLY?! Most people don't even know who the heck he is, how do you win album of the year like that? It's not even about rap continually being disrespected, the whole industry is disrespected with bullshit like this.
I mean, popularity shouldn't be what dictates album of the year in the first place. It should be what people think the best album is. I don't see how the industry is being disrespected by Beck winning. He's won Grammys before and this wasn't even his first nomination for album of the year.

It sounds like you just don't know who Beck is and are mad that someone you never heard of won.

I don't want anything from you man. I'm gonna assume he would have walked up there still. He's not really someone that runs from confrontation. Do you want me to say that he wouldn't? If you do, then: nah, you right. He would have sat his down lol.

Really? Most people don't know who Beck is? Come the fuck on, now.

I mean that as serious as a heart attack, most people DO NOT know who Beck is.

Ask the average person on the street, and no, they don't know who Beck is.

I KNOW who Beck is. you'll need a better point than that.....

Was this album getting any radio play? Were any of the tracks selling well? Did it get any critical acclaim beyond the other nominees? Those, and other similar metrics, are the only ways that currently come to mind to even measure if people heard his music (I invite you to list some more), and I'm willing to bet it fails all these tests compared to any number of artists who could have won. That's why NO ONE expected him to win. It makes no sense for him to have won.

The Grammys are bullshit but not because of your reasons. Most people who would be qualified to even vote for Grammys know who Beck is. It's, by and large, been a popularity contest. That's what the Grammy's are, which is why it's surprising that Beck won.

Dudes a piece of shit. Nearly fell over in disbelief when I saw his comment about Beck.

Might be the most degenerate rant I read this year so far.

So I just watched what happened since it really isn't described well, but apparently all he did was walk up and pretended like he was going to interrupt Beck, but walked away laughing, so it was just a joke. I think Kanye has a huge ego for just doing that alone, and he's a bit of a douche, but it is kinda funny, he poked fun at an industry that takes itself way too seriously at times. So this isn't that big on his list of offences.

Also I didn't even know Beck had a new cd! He lost me at Mutations... lol

If Kanye West was white, he'd be the most celebrated artist of all time.

You are on point with a lot of your posts but this is plain wrong. Kanye is a fucking idiot regardless of his race and I can tell you this, if he was white, and pulled this same shit just in reverse he would be called out as the biggest racist of all time. Come on now.

I don't even think Beck knew he had a new CD out.

Newsflash, Kanye wasn't the only person who thought Bush didn't give a fuck about black people during Katrina.

Ask anyone who lived through it if they thought Bush cared about them.

Mike Myers - "Kanye West spoke the truth about Hurricane Katrina injustices."

Sorry but if Bush cared, he did an absolute shit job showing it.

Doesnt matter. It would be considered a racist statement if I said Obama doesnt care about White people. Right or wrong?

So why is ok for Kanye to say it? Because he is black?
Here is a news flash. Katrina killed equally as do most natural disasters. All races suffered.
