Dear Kanye, please fall off of my face. Signed ... Some dude

I asked you to post a link of a great song, any song at this point. That was the request.

And I ask you what your definition of "message" is so when I post a shitload, you can't move the goalposts to the other side of the field under the guise of "that's not a message to me!"

yeezus is garbage?

lol now it's bullying....
The common denominator here is his friend Beyonce who he thinks deserves all the awards (she does), not white people. Taylor and Beck just happened to be there.

The only people who he "bullied" were those who beat Beyoncé when he thought she put out the best thing ever (Single Ladies video and the self-titled album).

Kanye knew they weren't going to do shit when he went up there, that's how bullies operate. Although I don't think his goal was to make fun of those artists, and the word "bully" is loaded as of recent times, but that's exactly what Kanye did.

And I strongly doubt Kanye would do this to a black artist. Period. Let alone someone that actually would respond at that moment, like a 50 Cent.

Mellow Gold is one my fav albums. Been listening to it since high school. Keep gigglin'.

He had more albums since then. Sad.....

TIL 20+ years is a decade.

But seriously though, silly to pick up an album just because of the Kanye 'tude. Beck deserves more respect than that.

I was going by what everyone has said Beck has been around for. But what I find hilarious is that Destiny Childs debuted in 1990 and Beck debuted in 1994. Who's really been around longer.... But whatever. It's petty to buy someone's album strictly out of hate for someone else's comment. It only validates Kanye star power tbh.

Wow... Gaf sure gets defensive when someone 'insults' the mediocre 'artist' that is Kayne. Not entertaining, nor a good musician.

Yet this thread is solely made off the fact that someone felt insulted by Kanye comment that wasn't directed towards them..

Lol.

And I ask you what your definition of "message" is so when I post a shitload, you can't move the goalposts to the other side of the field under the guise of "that's not a message to me!"

I then clarified that any great song will do. Do you need me to define any of those words for you?

"I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should've given his award to Beyoncé."

He is just an idiot. Not a racist.

In this thread I learned that the religion you're born into makes you a terrible person. Even if you've exhibited nothing but the behavior of a quality individual.

It's easy to confuse talent with success these days.
Hey now, but a lot of people still like Kanye. It'll take at least 2 or 3 more shit records before people realize his best has passed.

He is just an idiot. Not a racist.
Agreed. I used to ponder how much of Kanye is an act, and if he really is dumb. But at this point, I'll go with the whole "be careful who you pretend to be, because you are what you pretend to be" and say he's a moron.

He's a bully with a Napoleon complex. He only tries to grab awards from people who weigh under 100 lbs.

Jay Z must hate the creepy white knight shit he's tried to do for his wife twice now

Seriously. Plenty of "real artists" aren't even represented at the Grammys. Kanye will be back on Ellen talking like a changed man like Shia La Buff.

See, all this thread is talking about is Kanye West. Folks trying to validate & invalidate him and his music to fit their view because of what he's done.Yet we shouldn't forget that all this started because Beck won album of the year. Are you kidding me? How did this happen? Why or how did he win?

Kanye West may not be right for doing this, and his rant of course is just drivel that's filled with contradictions for people who don't like him to nit pick over, but what drove him to do it, YET AGAIN, I think is valid.

How is it valid. Because he personally thinks Beyonce deserves every award she is nominated for isn't valid. I doubt he listened to Beck's album and deduced that this album of his does not merit album of the year and thus if he wins I will personally let everyone know how wrong the selection is.

More like he thinks Beyonce should always win. Anytime she or whoever he thinks should win doesnt, he thinks it's the man, the association, the Grammys, and white people keeping the black artist down. I'd understand if he or Beyonce were never nominated or had won before but this is the very definition of being an asshole and ruining other people's celebration. How in the world is it valid?

And like I mentioned earlier there was a real element he could have critisized. Where was rap? On stage? Where was the rap category? Not even on the live show? Why? Yeah but Kanye doesn't care about that. He should have protested the show for that fact alone. No but he had his promotion and stunts to pull. How you gonna claim "we are not going to put up with it" and Claim to boycott the Grammys but not even mention how they shunned the whole genre.

He is delusional and his anger is completely misplaced. The fact that people defend his tantrums is shocking to me. He isn't exposing conspiracies or great injustices against art, black art, or women. He just throws his tantrums and in the end claims racism.

Only now he claims he won't say anything out of fear for his wife and daughter. Yet he said it anyway. What is he afraid of? The Grammys goons showing up at his door to take his sneakers aways?

Why keep making this an ethnicity issue? Why wouldn't your argument hold up with artists like Eminem or Joel Ortiz?

Also, not rappers, but Kanye has "beef" with at least two black radio personalities that criticized him while he was promoting Yeezus on their radio shows:

Is this supposed to be proof of actual beef between the two? Because it isn't.

And I didn't say he's never had problems with black people. But telling someone to shut the fuck up when they're not even around isn't exactly "head strong".

I then clarified that any great song will do. Do you need me to define any of those words for you?

Mate we all know what game you're out to play. They'll post a song they think is good, you'll be all like "Haha what? That's awful!" The there'll be half a page of people telling you you're wrong. Trust me I'm a fortune teller

"I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should've given his award to Beyoncé."

He is just an idiot. Not a racist.

This is my stance too. I didn't see anything racist about what he said. Doesn't mean I don't think he was grossly out of line though. He's talking like he's going against the system but nobody expected Beck to win anything.

nah he isn't racist. Just seems to get upset if his friends don't win. Perfectly fine, just don't diminish the work of people who actually won.

And I like Kanye's songs. So no, I don't think he isn't talentless.

I then clarified that any great song will do. Do you need me to define any of those words for you?

I wanna tell the whole world about a friend of mine
This little light of mine and I'm finna let it shine
I'm finna take yall back to them better times
I'm finna talk about my mama if yall don't mind
I was three years old, when you and I moved to the Chi
Late December, harsh winter gave me a cold
You fixed me up something that was good for my soul
Famous homemade chicken soup, can I have another bowl?
You work late nights just to keep on the lights
Mommy got me training wheels so I could keep on my bike
And you would give anything in this world
Michael Jackson leather and a glove, but didn't give me a curl
And you never put no man over me
And I love you for that mommy can't you see?
Seven years old, caught you with tears in your eyes
Cuz a nigga cheatin, telling you lies, then I started to cry
As we knelt on the kitchen floor
I said mommy I'mma love you till you don't hurt no more
And when I'm older, you ain't gotta work no more
And I'mma get you that mansion that we couldn't afford
See you're, unbreakable, unmistakable
Highly capable, lady that's makin loot
A livin legend too, just look at what heaven do
Send us an angel, and I thank you (Hey Mama)

I look forward to you telling us there is no message in that song.

My opinion (and I am entitled to my opinion)... his moves are calculated. He knew exactly what he was doing.
He has made racist remarks in the past. One that sticks out in particular is his line about white people making money and not spending it.
He called out the President by saying he doesnt care or like black people during the Katrina disaster....
He made comments about white people trying to act black when they rap.

Sorry.. but this to me comes off as racial comments.

It's pretty disgusting what he said about Beck, considering Beck has been on the scene for a long long time, has explored many styles of music, is a well rounded off actual musician and is known to be an all around nice guy.

Kanye is losing steam, and it does not help that he is married into the whole Kardarshian family who has been treating Bruce Jenner as if he was damaging to their 'brand name' because of his transgender transformation. Their mom (who was married to Bruce) had the guts to pretend that she just had learned about his transition as of last week even if its been known for years. They also treated one of their own brother/son as a leper because he was suffering from a hardcore depression that led to drug issues and weight gain. They actually prevented him from appearing into wedding pics and removed him from promo material because of that.

Wait, the Bruce Jenner rumors are REAL?

You can have "beef" with someone even if it's one sided. Kanye never publicly insulted 50 Cent during their feud, but that doesn't mean 50 Cent's attempts to create an issue weren't genuine.

As for mentioning the radio personalities, I just wanted to establish that Kanye doesn't just have issues with "docile white folks".

See, doing exactly what I said. You didn't read a word I wrote. I didn't say Kanye's contradiction-filled rant was worthy. But the fact that he got angry enough TO do this shit again is. The Grammys are utter bullshit. I don't watch them, I only found out half an hour ago what had happened. And I've made it VERY clear I don't agree with Kanye's statements, and have pointed out how full of shit his rant was, but somehow I'm wrong?

BECK won album of the year. REALLY?! Most people don't even know who the heck he is, how do you win album of the year like that? It's not even about rap continually being disrespected, the whole industry is disrespected with bullshit like this.

Really? Most people don't know who Beck is? Come the fuck on now. But let's pretend people don't know who Beck is. Should an album win based off of sales? Popularity? Or actual quality? Because I've heard both albums, and I can tell you which one I think is much better quality-wise.

But did he lie tho?
