Speed Racer was ahead of it's time. I believe if it came out after the success of Avatar and the 3D craze, and was all shot and screened in 3D, it would've been a bigger success and reviewed better.

I sorta like the movie but it's very uneven. Anything involving the kid and monkey was absolutely terrible.

I guarantee it will be one of the most watched films on Netflix. Even those that hate the idea of this film existing will watch it.

Looks like he's doing a good job playing L, but I don't think it's possible to portray an anime character 1:1 and not come off as a total dork.
