December Wrasslin' |OT| Dreaming of a Vanilla Christmas

Ah, forgot that.

Yeah, that finish was dire. looked like she was trying to put out a fire rather then attack her.

JBL (I think?) did his best to sell it with the whole she's suffocating and playing up the cold but that went on comically long, like I don't even mind a long extinguisher spot and playing up physically the cold and suffocation but they didn't do that and it went on even longer than tolerably long.

God bless Gabe for parking on DGUSA.tv even though Dragon Gate USA hasn't run a show since 2014.

The Saturday Evolve show I'm attending looks pretty good:

Evolve 74

EVOLVE Tag Team Championship Match
Catch Point (Tracy Williams & Fred Yehi) (c) vs. Ricochet & Peter Kaasa

Cody vs. Ethan Page w/ The Gatekeepers

Chris Hero vs. Dick Togo

Matt Riddle vs. Jeff Cobb

Drew Gulak vs. Jaka

Darby Allin vs. Brian Cage

DUSTIN vs. Chris Dickinson

Just to whet the appetite for Riddle vs. Cobb, that sequence from the tag match from BOLA 2016 Night 3 again: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1T_bwYaWkYw

Cena is probably going to have a new shirt when he comes back.

His current one is a part of the $10 shirt sale that mostly includes old designs.

In Manchester on Jan 6th.

– CODY RHODES vs RICOCHET (WCPW Internet Title Match)

– ZACK SABRE JR vs EL LIGERO

– DREW GALLOWAY will defend his WCPW Championship.

– MOSS & SLATER will defend their WCPW Tag Team belts.

– TESSA BLANCHARD

– IVELISSE

– JOE HENDRY

– MARTIN KIRBY

– RAMPAGE

Sabre and Ligero is an interesting one I'll try to catch when it makes tape. Most of the talent on that list is good

Lio Rush vs. Sami Callihan and Shane Strickland vs. Dezmond Xavier should be okay. I can't imagine that Greg Excellent vs. Homicide in 2016 would be any good.

Half the card probably won't be any good, but I'm ready to be surprised. I saw Lio Rush at ROH last Friday and he was pretty nice.

I just want to experience CZW in person at least once even if I'm not in love with deathmatch wrestling. Missed ToD last year.

I'm shocked a libertarian like Glen would fundraising for a foreign religious organization trying to infiltrate our society and simulate a military structure clearly trying to undermine America with socialist values. Plus wouldn't fundraising for those sick and needy people only elongate their suffering and put an undue burden on our economy? I'm shocked Glen isn't trying to take and burn foodstamps from the poor

Never been to a UK show, so only know Drew and Cody. Who would you say to look out for? Apart from the one you suggested.

Cage of Death is the right event to do it with. It's all spectacle.

Just be prepared to be there very late, it typically takes a while to set up the cage.

This is good to know. I think doors are at 7:30, but the earliest I can get there is probably 8:30-9. There's tons of matches on the card though, so I'm sure I won't miss anything.

The first ever Cage of death was the best especially as it paid off a huge storyline that had been going for close to a year.

Ricochet is (depending on who you ask) the best flier in the world right now
I like Ivelisse a lot, don't know how others feel, big part of Lucha Underground

For Brit guys:

Rampage Brown is a real good bruiser
Ligero is a great cruiserweight
Zack Sabre is a great technical wrestler most of GAF don't like
Hendry is decent and will probably have an amusing entrance
Kirby is super solid and super over in WCPW for some reason

Really just watch the show and see who takes your fancy, you can look into them afterwards :)

I will say that I've been thinking about going to Best of the Best one of these days.

I still have no idea who is supposed to take the belt off Nakamura.

NXT's women's division has actually improved (selling Cross as good enough to challenge Asuka helps a lot) but the men's main event scene seems pretty dire until and unless Roode takes the title. Beyond that it's a bunch of random dudes. If they were planning to sell Roderick Strong as something other than Some Guy they didn't do a very good job.

I think they've got a pretty solid map for the women's title though. Have Cross challenge for it at San Antonio and lose, then have Ember win it and have Cross come back to feud with Ember. That could take you to the end of the year.

If they ever get their act together on Los Ingobernables Andrade Almas, he could be an option. NXT hasn't had a faction leader as it's champ. I doubt they would ever put the belt on Tommy End or Big Damo.

Watch it be Eric Young though.

Aries should take it.

I want Nakamura on Smackdown. AJ vs Nakamura feud.

At least with the way it's looking, they only have 4 Takeovers per year, so Nakamura can hold the belt a while till someone is ready. They don't need to hot potato that belt.

Did they air the whole match last night on NXT? I missed it.

They have a few options.

A) (I know this is a bummer) have Nak hold it until April, when Adam Cole will most likely be signed.

B) Have Hideo beat Nak when Itami gets healthy.Turn him Heel if you have to, but Hideo still has cred from the KENTA days but is much more beatable than Nak.

C) This kind of sucks because it would be face vs face, but I think you could have Cedric beat Nak by Takeover in April.

I do think NXT: The End should have been a reset. They colda brought Shinsuke and Joe up and done a tournament to crown a new champion.

Bobby Roode should take the NXT title from Nak
and he's also the #1 contender anyway

Can't wait for Nakamura to get to the main roster and go 50/50 in feuds with The Miz and Rusev.

when did Roode start wrestling? I just had to look up how old he was as I thought he was far older. He seems to have been going for ages.

lol'd at Hero losing his bags before his match with Marty at Rev Pro, so ended up wearing gear from 7 different guys:

Size 15 boots from Big Damo (2 sizes too big)
Socks from Marty Scurll
Kneepads from Josh Bodom
Undertrunks and wristtape from Jay White
Ryan Smile's kneepads fit him as Elbowpads
One of Pete Dunne's singlets as trunks

One thing that looking back I have to give HHH credit for is with his injury instead of trying to wrestle the same style he did before he recognized that he had to change his style. Sure he was trying to clone Harley Race and Ric Flair and wasn't anywhere near as good as them but he changed because he wanted to continue wrestling.

Meanwhile people like Bryan and Angle when dealing with life threatening injuries wrestled even more dangerously. They could have extended their careers or quality of life by just making small changes.

Instead Bryan was doing suicide dives and working super stiff.

Pro wrestling NOAH came to Coventry and put on two shows, some of the guys lost all their ring gear as the airline mis-placed the bags so we saw Morishima and Marifuji enter the building with JD sports bags and they indeed wrestled in trash gear.
