Wowowowowowow. Come on Kings, at least get something. There is nothing in this trade that amounts to trading your most valuable asset, let alone the best center in the league. I like that NOP get another superstar they badly needed and that it ain't Davis against the world anymore, but holy shit, they got away with murder.

How did Vlade not wait until the deadline if that was the best offer on the table. The Kings can move on from the shadow of Boogie now but with little to show for it. Waited too long to trade, and when they did they panicked.

Don't know where the Pels go from here but Boogie + AD is scary on paper and Jrue Holiday is a still a nice player. Even if he doesn't stick around in the end it's a great trade, unless Cousins is really that much of a culture killer in the locker room and to an organization.

Please let Warriors/Pelicans happen in the first round now.

When the Pelicans manage to pull off the upset of the century in game 6...

Then you'll continue to lose while effectively just waiting Lebron out.

If the C's were ever going to contend against Lebron, this is the deal they needed to do.

as much as i think the celtics need to do something, its not the worst thing in the world to ride a contender and add 2 top 5 picks while the only thing in front of you ages out of contention

Right now I'm hoping those talks of that western expansion get fast tracked (read: actually materialize into something real) so NOLA can be part of the East where they belong and go dominate on that half.

Okafor sucks. He's a horrible defender and a horrible rebounder, and good teams can't afford to have horrible rebounders and defenders at the C position. He's a future bench player.
He averaged 17 points 8 rebounds is rookie season. The rebounding is an effort thing with him. He loses some weight and gets more aggressive he's a solid player. I'm not saying he's the next great big.

Ages out of contention within 3-5 years.

You're gonna ride as the perennial #2-3 for 3-5 years and pray it's the low end? While other teams in the east also grow and improve?

Celtics need a superstar. Their window isn't much larger than the Cavs. Most teams windows aren't.

I mean, the Celtics, Toronto, Wizards, Bulls are pretty big losers too. I'm sure they could have scrounged up a better than deal than this one.

it was 7 TRB, and his Rebounding percentages and defensive metrics are god awful. He's terrible in that regard. He's a poor man's Brook Lopez (at least BroPez has developed some range) or Enes Kanter.

a 2017 first and some d-leaguers for a guy who, if his head gets right, could arguable be on of the 3 best players in the game.

Ridiculous. The more I read it the more ridiculous it gets and the more angry I get that the Knicks didn't offer shit.

But what sure things are even on the market potentially? Paul George? Butler ain't gonna make you a challenger. Melo, LOOOOL no he toasted.

I just don't see what the market will shape that can get them a better player at a position of need than Boogie. George maybe but it's gonna take a ton to pry him away from Bird.
I don't know, and neither do you or the celtics. Historically, it is quite likely that a player of Boggie's caliber will be traded in the next two years.

Listen, I think we can both agree that if the Celtics trade for him and managed to sign him a new contract then it's a great deal and if he walks when he's free agent then it's a terrible one.
I can't really know how likely either scenario is, but I understand the hesitation on their part.

No, out of the 4 bigs Philly drafted, Jah is the fucking drizzling shits

Joel? Great
Dario? Really good
Nerlens? Dope defender

Jah? Hell no, thank god the Twolves didn't draft his bum ass

He is a lesser form of Enes Kanter for fucks sake

All he got is offensive, is abysmal everywhere else

i dont think lebron carries them to the finals for 5 more years and cavs are capped to hell and back

Does this mean no more king gs victories

Celtics need one more piece to really make that championship run I've been pegging them for. Thomas had been a 4th quarter monster though and not sure if cousins would gel there.

Joel is an injury waiting to happen and I've completed soured on him. If he can't even play more than 50 games in a season what good is he

I wouldn't really count Saric as a big but I do really like him

All Noel has is defense. And he's gonna get a big offer sheet come free agency and I don't know if the sixers match it

At least with Ohkafor he still has his rookie contract and you can use him off the bench

I mean the pelicans basically got him for free so I get that, but at the end of the day I don't really believe this makes the pelicans a contender.
They may not contend this year but they just became a free agent destination to be come a contender in the future. (Assuming they mesh and don't have to turn around next deadline and flip Cousins.) If the best Center in the league can play with the best PF you have a young frontcourt foundation for years. Championships are won exclusively by Elite players in the NBA, without one you don't have a shot and NO just paired up two.

So its a 1.5 year rental

They ain't doing shit with him and he ain't resigning there

Oh no they lost Buddy fucking Hield.... ahahahaha

What is this I don't even.

This could be really interesting, or it could be a mistake to focus so much on front court play in a league that has clearly gone away from that. But even if it is, what have the Pelicans really lost by giving it a shot? not much that I can see.

If it works it will go down as the steal of the century, if it fails, it's not like the Pelicans were doing anything anyway.

AD, and Boogie, I mean, asides from the new young bigs like Porzingis, KAT, Jokic, etc., are exactly the bigs you would want to put together in this era

Even watching him in two or three games seems like he will scream help I've fallen and I can't get up.
