watching a debate with Bernie is like watching a Mayweather fight. A great jab, and you're yelling 'hit 'em again!' and .. nothing. It's going to points. Always going to points. No killer instinct

Continually blown away by Clinton. I feel like this is a stronger debate performance than I can remember her having since NH comeback week in 2008.

An extreme left would drag the average left. All the extreme right being so loud is dragging the Democrats right. So... yes, yes SOMEONE has to be extreme left to keep it in balance.

The country is moving left. This can be quantitatively shown. That our political system does not reflect this, due to gerrymandering and off year elections, is a problem with the system, not the lack of an extreme left.

Bernie, you realize that's what's been going on right? It's not like the Middle East has been sleeping and we've been doing all the work against ISIS.

Of course there is, because the smaller they are, the less financial and political potency they possess, and the more dispensable they will be in the long run. A massive bank failing, one of only a few major institutions, is far less manageable and more detrimental, than a much smaller bank failing, and one that is one of many.

In the long run, all this does is shift risk to less-regulated institutions while doing absolutely fuck all to guarantee the financial solvency of anyone outside of the banking bogeyman.

I say grotesquely facile when I refer to the New Left's view of banking because it completely ignores any and all negative consequences of preventing certain levels of individual systemic risk.

Man, Bernie sucks at foreign policy.

"Hilary, good stuff on ISIS. Agreed. By the way, remember when you voted for the Iraq War?"

Bernie > Hillary on foreign policy. He just has problems saying he's fully anti-regime change since it differs so much with mainstream politics on both DNC/RNC. He should be clear about it.

I feel like someone of Bernie's dovish wing is right on foreign policy, but I don't think he's nearly as well versed in this topic as he needs to be.

Which is really bad, since the executive has so much purview over it.

the country has moved so Far-Right in three decades, there is not much any more Right you can go

Yes, let us forget that we keep creating the very enemies we end up having to fight with our war machine.

But hey, that vote, and that war was years and years ago, so its OK to ignore that history and its lessons. And as we're being reminded in this very debate, we're still there with no end in sight.

This is why we keep repeating history.

People wanting to put buts on the ground to fight isis bafle me. What do you think they want you to do? Why the fuck do you think they've been filming themselves burning people? They're literally baiting. They want that.

A derivative could be traded seven different ways and carry counter party risk for multiple institutions and before long even the small banks could have enough skin in the game to pose systemic risk.

So, Bernie barely gets hit and humiliates his opponents?

Jesus Christ Bernie. He's as bad on foreign policy as Hillary is on campaign finance

I don't know. Hillary looks bad against Bernie on some of these financial questions, but the arguments he's using would be completely hollow coming from a Republican candidate.
