I'm a Hilliary supporter but I've got such great respect for Bernie Sanders. I don't think he's strong enough to go against the Republicans.

But in that case which of those countries are a real threat to the US? Russia's economy is crippled and while they are a big european threat, I doubt they can ever become the USSR. Iran is a regional player.

I mean under threats to global stability and consequently the US, the Defense Secretary is probably right in Russia's flouting of international law. Iran is a greater threat to global stability already touched upon. The brinksmanship in the East/South China Sea is probably considered a greater threat.

I guess one could argue there isn't currently a direct tangible threat, in which case the question was kind of broken.

I must say, this whole segment is pretty useless. This is a segment dedicated to pundits who treat politics like a sport. I really doubt any of these issues are of import to voters.

Edit- and kudos to both candidates for seemingly recognizing that.

Haha Hillary! I wish she'd come off of the cuff more. She's going to need to be more charismatic of a speaker if she's the nominee.

The issue is about trust. Bernie, like or hate his ideas, is widely considered the more genuine and likable of the two.

My opinion: Hillary uses disingenuous arguments consistently. Her acting like she'll take on Wall Street is hilarious. It's also ridiculous when she repeatedly insists that Bernie's plan would put the affordable care act in jeopardy, regardless of how many times he explicitly states that simply isn't true.

save this crap for the gop debates

I don't think you can say that Iran, as a whole, is rational. Rouhani, as the head of state is, but its pretty clear that he doesn't control the entire government apparatus. That's how you get situations why the Iranian navy takes over a US boat at gunpoint. The Obama administration papered it over because they want to keep things positive but there are clearly reactionary parts of the Iranian state that do not want normalized relations with the US and try push the sides apart.

They are basically the flipside of republicans, lot of bark. The us boat was in iranian waters, that was standard protocol. They have their own problems with liberal youths so they have to keep a tight lid on things. Besides, the US acts toward iran like how Russia acts toward Ukraine. We overthrew their leader and installed a dictator, we had behind the scenes deals and we even destroyed an entire plane full of iranian civilians and never apologized (300ish ppl dead, crazy shit). Iran knows they are surronded by unfriendly allies and need to posture because of their demographics (older conservatives, young liberals that will slowly take over).

Interesting to have a "I won't talk about this if you won't talk about that" kind of dynamic going on. Morbidly curious what happens when it inevitably catches on fire.

We start the debate with semantic arguments and now we're getting into campaign non-drama.

Come on Todd and Maddow. You're better than this.

Bernie hasn't exactly clarified he wouldn't repeal obamacare or "also" building on it. He isn't using direct language to that effect in the debate. Why not?
