Ive been playing quite a bit of BF1942 w/ Expansions lately since I couldnt seem to get desert combat final to work. Turns out I needed beta .7. What? Anyway, its up and running again. Seriously forgot how good a mod this was. The game is just 10 times more explosive and war like.

For example maps like Coastal Hammer are insanely intense. The streets and buildings are placed so well, the mix of close quarter fighting and armor vs infantry = AWESOME.

Other maps do just as well, the jet and helicopter support is awesome. Wish I could learn HOW to fly a chopper but Ill leave that to the skilled.

Shotgun/Support class = badical. And I cant count how many times people walk into grenades while chasing me. Alt fire drops it neatly where you are, and bam. They never really expect a short grenade drop.

Yes. Desert Combat is a lot of fun.

Yesterday, I was in Gazala, in the first little village near the American base. They kept bringing tanks and jets to it, bombing it repeatedly. I drove up there, and there were 2 jets flying and a helicopter. I was in an M4AI tank, and I blew the heli out of the sky. It was awesome.

For like 10 minutes after that, I was hiding in one of those houses, because there were tanks all around outside. One of our jets flew over a few times and killed them. I was forced to go out there and get on an AA-gun, killed 2 jets. It was great.

I love DC.

Meh, I never could get into DCF, simply because they ended up giving the air units WAY too much power. It's almost back to the early days of DC, actually. I can be sitting in one of the anti-air tanks, see an Apache or Hind coming straight at me in the distance, unload everything I've got on it, and yet it'll casually fly right up to me and spam missles at me until I'm dead.

And then there's the toning down they did of the stingers. It used to be perfectly fine to have two stingers take out a chopper. If a chopper pilot was actually good (ie: didn't fly out in the open all the time) it wasn't a problem, but it takes way too many stingers to take an attack chopper down now. Not only that, but they reduced the range on them, too!

Yeah, it takes a lot to destroy air units in DCF. Unless, you jump into a jet and suicide them. :lol

I do like how a lot of things were changed and added. Sounds are way better now.

I haven't played DC in a while. I kinda preferred the DC Realism mini-mod, but sadly there never seemed to be enough crowded servers to find a good match. Haven't checked in a while though. I tend to spend more time with Forgotten Hope still.

Welcome in 2003/2004 . I played it since 0.3 and playing it clan-wise since 0.38. We all cant wait untill BF2.
I agree with the stinger drop back. Used to be perfect, no chopper was save for me. But now since the stingers have been downgraded, i use the RPG/SMAW to take down Black Hawk, Hinds, Apache. Only those damn little birds/gazelle's are a little bit to fast for that

But its fun being called a cheater after u shot down like 6 choppers in a row

That WWII mod is shit, they take 1942, make it ugly and ruin the planes. DICE Canada sucks.

But yeah, DC is the shit. Love me some armed BlackHawks.

Man, Desert Combat Final + Berlin = The Shit. I love that modern day APC with the smoke launchers and heavy gun. My favorite thing to do is getting in that and just PLOWING through the front lines.
