Went back to D1 for a burl to see how it compares, MUCH prefer D2's 4v4 PvP now that I can compare them directly.

No more spam, no more shotgun sliders, more team tactics, more gunskill.

Still clutch with 2 supers if you go good; love it.

Last Word required far more gunskill than holding down button for ARs. It's more honest yes but I would argue with anything else.

I get arthritis (minor, albeit) from fast repeat firing so I welcome more auto guns TBH.

Aim still the same, not just a race for who got the quickest trigger finger then: much preferred.

Also: Super Spam: despicable....getting 2 Supers actually feels great now, like 'more special' :)

Can't go back to clusterfuck mess that is D1 crucible.

I do miss 6v6 though, I wish we had the option...lol, options in Destiny, can you imagine?

Need two for Calus on Xbox. Haven't beaten him yet but we know what to do. It'd be nice to have a couple guys who have beaten Calus for some pointers ;)

Just need one more for nightfall, keep in mind this weeks is very difficult and is going to require patience and communication

I haven't done it yet on either of my characters, 303 Titan and 293 Hunter.

If you still need one, hit me up: PSN Car0nFire

So I've been out of the game for a week. Just picked up 300pl Prosecuter and Sins of the Past from Hawthorne. Weren't clan rewards given at a super low power level before?

Is the 30 challenges trophy glitched? Ive surely done more than 30.

To add on to what the other person said: If you're on Xbox & achievements aren't popping then go into the options/settings, change profile then sign into the same profile you were already signed in on. It should pop when you get to character select/select a character.

Same thing happened in D1.

The clan engrams stuff is so cool. I never, ever have to touch Trials of the Nine yet I get the cool guns!

Also 'Everything dies. This is proof' is a good gun description.

Maaaan, if we had maybe an extra minute my fireteam would have beaten the Nightfall. Just ran out of time at the last portion of the final boss fight. So close!

CoO anyone?

Oh nevermind.

I 'member those days, 6 teams of 3 and we just went at it - rune after rune - for about 3 hours.

But I know how this is gonna play out: starve the playerbase and then release what people have been asking for in crumbs to keep them crawling back.

So, I wouldnt be surprised if we get something like CoO down that road, just not now cause they dont wanna give us everything at the beginning.

GGs yall. That nightfall is a pain in the ass, glad you helped us through it with max time Kratos. The Prestige NF this week can DIAF.
Yep GG. Good strategy on the Titan with the chestpiece too — having 2 healing warlocks and a Titan with that worked well.

I’m sure that’s the kind of strategizing Bungie wants but the fact remains that the rewards for the nightfall itself need to be improved, for all the effort put forth. I remember in D1 exotics would very frequently pop as a reward for completion and I have yet to get anything other than a Legendary item. Sure, Zavala sometimes has a nice drop for completing it, but you can get the same reward from basic clan activity or clearing public events — two activities that offer similar rewards and are ultimately way more fun and far less of a headache.

Nightfall is absolutely disgusting.

Always reach the final boss with 2 minutes left.
Fixed for accuracy. Unless you watch a video before hand, youre more than likely to have to run the nightfall twice the weeks they have the anomalies since the time youre gonna spend looking for them will likely offset the 30 second gains, especially this week.

would it be fair to make the observation that destiny 2 is the diablo 3 of the destiny series

I would say that is one of the best comparisons there is, here's hoping that Bungie takes the same route that Blizzard did and give a shit enough to fix this trainwreck of a game

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
I hadn't played the game in almost two weeks and wasn't paying attention to what I was doing and accidentally spent 50,000 glimmer on the Dead Orbit scout rifle that I don't even want. :(

I run it straight on reset with 2 gaffer. Came to the boss with 5 minutes. We were short of 1min maximum. Went straight again after we arrived at the boss with 9-10min. Super easy.

One of the easiest nightfall imho. Just look around ...

Is there a lot of dissent amongst the fanbase now that they’ve had time to digest the game?

I dunno. I just think it’s a much more refined experience than the first one was. It feels like it actually respects my time. I’m even making steady, satisfying progress without doing things like the raid or trials.

The first Destiny felt like Bungie was getting people to eat shit because they somehow managed to spike the shit with an addictive substance. Destiny 2 feels like we’re being served chocolate.

It might be more cerebral but it's also much more boring. 4v4 teamshotting is a snooze fest. I had way more fun in D1 pvp. I don't get why everything needs to be try hard serious 4v4. I also think trials was better 3v3.

I agree pvp is more about gun skill now than specific tactics but does that make it better? I'd say no, it just means certain people will be better than just those that mastered D1s specific meta.

The best part of D1 vanilla was the raid and hard nightfall's. D2 doesn't have a good, fun raid. And timed nightfall's are cancer. No one wants to do the whole nightfall then run out of time by 30 seconds and do it all over. That is antifun. The D2 raid is anti fun.

So while yes D2 does respect our time and allow you to progress without playing the end game hard content it also has very paultry rewards for those of us that do, especially the raid. And even if it had proper rewards the raid itself is lackluster which is what kept most of us playing.

No that would be taking it too far. At launch on PC D3 was barely even a game. More like a pay to progress act of frustration that had shit story coupled with the tiniest amount of content I've ever seen in a blizzard retail game. It was a biggest waste of gaming money I think I've ever spent, sincerely.

I don’t get people who enjoyed the “lol super spam, lol shotgun slider spam” amusement park chaos of the first crucible. I thought it was utter shit. Maps were too big and had too much of a twitch shooter vibe to it. If someone saw you first, forget it, done. So you prefer that? Something that requires less skill because people have too much chaos around them?

A tight and focused PVP that emphasizes skill and teamwork...how is that a bad thing? It’s “boring” because you don’t get to spam shotgun sliders at everyone? I’m just not sure I understand.

I’ve also received FOUR exotic engrams from completing adventures in the post-game. Got my fourth just today. I find that an insanely good way to reward a player’s time. Makes me feel like solo side content like that is as valuable as the raid.

To me, that’s a huge step up from the first. Destiny 2 needed to be more accessible to casual players. It seems like the hardcore people are having trouble accepting that? I dunno. Just a question/thought.

Bear in mind that with any MMO or online game, you can get some really unpleasable fanbases. During my time playing Guild Wars 2, I had people genuinely argue that mounts had no place in that MMO. You'll never be able to please all the players.

Of course, I won't pretend Bungie doesn't make aggravating decisions that merit criticism.

But I'd agree that some are viewing D1 through some nostalgic glasses. Pre-Taken King D1 wasn't a great time, it was a deeply flawed experience, I'll take D2 any day over that.

First id argue that we’ve replaced twitch shooting for team corner shooting. Ttk is just as short but now you can’t ever be a solo hero. If you’re on your own you’re absolutely screwed in current Pvp. The super spam was annoying but that doesn’t mean you throw the baby out with the bath water and turn it into a mida/auto rifle team shot simulator. Current pvp reminds me of watching little kids play soccer. Two packs of four running around team shooting eachother woopdie doo. It’s awful.

I agree with you on adventures those are a great addition.

I’m not necessarily hardcore. I don’t spend more than 3-4 hours a week playing d2 mainly because there really isn’t much to do that I enjoy like I did with D1. I think the resistance you’re seeing from the hardcore is that what we enjoyed now isn’t good. The added casual stuff is great for casuals but yeah we are upset because the content designed for us welll it sucks.
