Why someone would play Destiny on PC using a controller when he could be on PS4?
I don't think control users should have any advantages on PC like AA.
4k & 60fps.

So the game should just be unplayable for pad players?

It's easy to reword something to gain support, but blowing hot air everywhere doesn't further anything. Would you gut it outright or is there another solution you think would work.
You shouldn't be using a pad in an online PC FPS anyway. Mouse and keyboard should be what the game is balanced around on PC, else you have a really shitty game.
That said, it's whatever. Destiny PvP has always been shit anyway. I more just want the PvE content to not be a pushover like it felt in the beta.

lmao
yea, it's gross in vanilla Destiny. it will be gross in Destiny 2.
If you didn't play Destiny 1...it's really strong. Strong enough for me to mutter a few times, "the fuck Bungie...let me aim sometimes."
Can't say I've ever seen my aim snap like that before onto a head in either D1 (ps3) or D2 beta (pc). Maybe I simply never noticed because of the recoil that i'm expecting.

Because I don't own a PS4? Because I prefer playing games with a controller than with a keyboard? I personally loathe WASD movement.
this.
Yep. I want to play on my elite controller. The aim assist issue is really overblown except for the kb/m emulating a controller part. Try it for yourself, it's really not as much as you would think.

Massively overblown. People crying over imagined hordes of cheaters using some hack or some such. The only people that will end up getting fucked over are pad users if Bungie disables AA.
The beauty of PC gaming is its plethora of options for the gamer. Some people can't play KB/M for long periods of time due to wrist issues and such, as evident in the PC beta thread.
So a feature should be removed because it's not balanced/adjusted right in a beta? Come on guys.
I honestly hope both m+kb & controller are viable options in the PC version of Destiny 2. Destiny 2 on PC is amazing and should be experienced by every Destiny fan and it might introduce some people into PC gaming.
I don't get what's the huge fuss with controllers on PC for some people when gaming HTPCs are on the rise and we have programs like DS4Windows, Xpadder, and Joy2Key assisting gamers who want to play with controllers on PC
It's not autoaim. Read my post above. It's too early to say how big of an issue it actually ends up being, but theoretically I don't want any form of auto-aim in a competitive game, maybe even less so if it's only available to a certain group of players.
If it absolutely needs to be in, they should consider having a controller-only playlist.
If that isn't an option, go bananas. Let's see how it turns out.
Bungie is not going to change it. They highly value consistency in gunplay, from pve to pvp to console to pc. They want people to have the same experience and they won't change how the gunplay feels because 0.01% of the population spoof controllers in the crucible. Maybe Destiny is not for you.
I mean you can call it what you want. It's there to help you hit your target.
Even if it's simply slowing down to help you aim, it's something you'd be banned for in a game like CSGO.
Asking people to nudge joysticks to target a tiny head, while targets jump around/dash around you, on a controller without any kind of aim assist is a pretty fucking big ask even if every game behaved the exact same way re: aim acceleration and sensitivity.Aim assist in general is a design blight. Dump it, get meaningful and consistent sensitivity/acceleration curve settings across all games so gamepad players can develop muscle memory for aiming in general.

Yeah it needs to be reduced a lot in addition to not going straight to head on lock.Ok, since most of you people cannot read, let's try this one more time.
No. One. Has. A. Problem. With. Controllers.
No problem at all with you using a controller.
Only problem is the current implementation of software based auto assist, that should be toned down or removed on PC.
You can keep your controllers, no one wants to take away your preferences.
Now please stop.
Okay I must be crazy. I am using a PS4 controller and could not get aim assist to do shit in PvE on the strike. I was doing LT+RT near enemies heads and it did not snap at all. Is there a setting I need to tweak? Does it not work properly with PS4 controllers?
one might....
have friends on PC
only have a PC
want free online
want a higher framerate and better visual clarity
want to take advantage of their options/ use their preferred input method
This opinion sucks and is painfully outdated. You shouldn't be using a pad in an online PC FPS anyway.
Not at all the same thingHey, feel free to play it at lower frame rates on PC while you're at it.

It's 2017, people play online shooters with a gamepad. People do not care if they're at a disadvantage.

Is it though? I've tried say Titanfall, which is pretty fast paced with controller and no aim assist and while it was challenging it wasn't the end of the world. And the controller was locked into less than ideal sensitivity settings. I get the profit motive behind getting bad controller players some kills. But for actual gameplay reasons I'm convinced aim assist is a net negative.Asking people to nudge joysticks to target a tiny head, while targets jump around/dash around you, on a controller without any kind of aim assist is a pretty fucking big ask even if every game behaved the exact same way re: aim acceleration and sensitivity.
I started playing the beta with M/KB but it was missing a certain Destiny feel. Once I switched to my DS4 everything clicked into place. Destiny on a controller is an incredibly satisfying shooting experience, and I feel like the entire pace of of the game is expertly tuned to the peculiarities of said interface. While using a mouse, at times it felt less like shooting and more like pointing and clicking.
With that said, I personally felt sluggish and ineffective when using a controller in PvP, and probably won't bring one to the Crucible when the game comes out. I would be okay with removing AA in that mode, but something tells me Bungie of all companies isn't interested in a solution that disincentivizes some of their biggest fans from using their preferred input method.
AA removed on controller and I'm not buying on PC.
I'm not playing on MnK because anymore than 5mins and my left hand cramps.
If bungie can detect cheat programs, they can detect a mouse pretending to be a controller.
I dunno man, Blizzard couldn't with Overwatch.
XIMs are inherently undetectable.
And wasn't the issue here that AA was proccing with a normal mouse either way if a controller was plugged in?
I tried it out earlier and dominated with a controller. Makes the sniper super easy to use. It did feel much more aggressive than console.
It might not, but it felt like it snapped to heads much much easier. I am used to using both. I think they just need to turn the auto aim down a bit and fine tune it a little more. Not eliminate it entirely, but make it less aggressive.
