Destiny 2 PC performance thread

Ok just preordered on Amazon as I want to play this tonight, seeing that it seems to run very well. My rig is a 1080ti+7700K so I should be good to go at 1440p and G-Sync.

OBS studio doesn't recognize the game :(

I just used Shadowplay. Worked Alright.

OT: GTX Pascal Titan 12GB, 6700k @4ghz and 32GB of RAM, unsurprisingly works fine. Only slight drops with MSAA from 144fps to around 70-80, else solid 144fps locked.

Using the scaler to 150% it runs around 100fps or so.

Keep getting resolution issues with my PC plugged into my 4K TV. I had to close my PC down because I couldn't get back to the desktop and now the game starts in this 'Unsupported Resolution'. This, is of course, nonsense because I can play most games in a whole host of resolutions. But switching to 1440p? Nope. Not allowed. I hope there is a config file I can find where I can set the resolution.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.75ghz + GTX 1080, and I'm having drops below 60 often, when my friend with a Ryzen 7 1700 @ stock speeds + GTX 1070 is getting more stable and better performance on highest settings.

Anyone else with a similar setup having these drops?

I'm hitting 100FPS at supersampled 3440x1440 at 160% (5504x2304) on a 6700K/1080Ti even at max settings with SMAA. Lowest dip I've hit was 92 but that's great with these visuals. This is ready for release to be honest unless they did a really polished vertical slice and the rest of the game is fucked.

Specs
Intel 6700K (not overclocked)
EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 variant (11GB of VRAM)
2X 8GB sticks of DDR4 memory @ 3200mhz
3440x1440 monitor @ 100hz

Playing with high settings with 105 fov and 16x AA rather than the default 4x for high.

Getting 60+ fps seems pretty stable above it not played enough to notice where it stays around when running, will edit when played a bit more today.

specs:

Nvidia 970
I5-4690k (no overclocking)
32GB DDR3 Ram
Installed on my SSD.

edit: stable 70/80 in combat 90ish when not.

RAM amount for you?

3570k @ 4.4, 1070 Aero OC (1770-1870 mhz)
maxed with msaa @1080p : sometimes it dips below 60
msaa is not even working, lol.
stick with smaa and resolution scaling.

I'm kinda pissed at the fact this is running so well on my machine because it releases almost 2 months after the console version and I don't want to wait that long :/

at what settings?

i5-6600k
Titan X Pascal
3440x1440 res @ 21:9

All maxed settings except MSAA turned off and it's solid 95fps (refresh rate) most of the time. Sometimes drops to the 80s but I barely notice it.

Good shit all around.

I'm excited to see impressions of this playing on an ultrawide monitor setup. I use a 1060 6gb to drive my 1080p ultrawide at 75hz. Dropping a couple of settings is nothing to get that higher frame rate.

My gtx 1080 at max settings 1080p is near 120fps lock in mp. If I put render scale at 200% I'm around 40 fps. 6700k at 4.5 and 16th ddr4 3200

Woah you are close to me in specs, I have 1080 not ti...and I'm not near that. You in mp?

HDR is hit and miss. OS has it on (my TV tells me). Start the game (with HDR already on) and it's not on (my TV tells me) and the game is over saturated. At least it starts in 1440p now.

Amd ryzen 1700 OC @ 3.8GHz
Gtx 1080Ti @ stock
16 Gb Ram @ 2933MHz

All settings highest except for MSAA

1440p 165hz, game fluctuates crazily from about 60-140, anybody else with a 1700 have similar performance?

Doesn't feel too bad since I'm on Gsync but still weird it drops that's much.

I noticed one thing: Ingame vsync produces very uneven frame pacing. It's not unplayable, but noticeable. Locking FPS to 60 with RTSS solves that problem.

Performance:
GTX 1080 (2040 MHz)
7700k 4.75 GHz
16GB DDR4 3100 MHz
850 Evo

1440p (+110% resolution = 2816x1584)
max settings, but FXAA and HDAO
60 fps all the way.

4k (90% resolution = 3456x1944 )
max settings, but FXAA, HDAO, shadows=medium, foliage shadow=medium, Light Shafts= medium
60 fps for 97% of the time. Some drops to 57 fps during very intense scenes.

Amd ryzen 1700 OC @ 3.8GHz
Gtx 1080Ti @ stock
16 Gb Ram @ 2933MHz

Yeah I am having similar issues. I'm beginning to think it's a Ryzen issue. Did you upgrade to the latest chipset driver that just came out?

Little bit different environment. Your trained eye notice here anything?

3D on left and HDAO on right.
In that comparison it looks like "3D" (whatever that is) does a better job at taking the large-scale occlusion on the left into account.

Looks pretty good overall, if they can fix the AA issue.

Ok in full screen I get 20fps windowed I get 60 but my mouse pointer doesn't stay within the games screen boundaries. I have no idea what to do and it's driving me crazy.

Looks like i am getting stable 60 even in strike.

1080p + 115% supersampling + FXAA
Highest preset with Shadows, DOF, and Foliage Shadow Distance on High + HDAO.

i7 6700k@4.5ghz
GTX 970@1506mhz

Pretty damn good.

Hopefully they will fix inability to connect to servers when launched directly from executable... so it can be smoothly added to Steam.

Need to check again but have a feeling that FXAA might be better implemented in this than SMAA. Odd.

Yeah me too. FXAA + very light downsampling seems to do a better job then SMAA (even with light downsampling).
I really wish temporal anti aliasing would be standard by now.

I'm under the minimum requirements and it still runs!

6600k
16gb ram
AMD 7750 waiting on Volta considering I'll be playing this game for years

At first I got 60fps without anything spawning, during enemies and firing its ~24fps shooting back up to 40s.

This is at 2560x1080 @ 75% render ALL Low settings

This game runs great on my setup with all the settings jacked up (no MSAA).

5820k, 64GB, 4.3GHz/1080Ti@4k.

Even HDR looks great on my Samsung UN48JU6700, which can't implement HDR completely.

No need to buy a 2nd 1080Ti to run this @ 4k.

I think I'll be buying this.

Yeah I am having similar issues. I'm beginning to think it's a Ryzen issue. Did you upgrade to the latest chipset driver that just came out?

Nope, thanks for that didn't see there was one that came out last Friday! Should hopefully stabilize performance but since it's a beta I don't mind if it takes them a little to iron out performance, still plays like a dream at the moment.

Edit: nope same performance, latest Mobo bios too so just gotta hope it's smoother for launch

Edit2: dammit, turned off vsync and now I'm getting 100+ easy few if any drops shoulda tried that first. Only problem is framerate is going all the way up to 200fps, any way to put a hard cap frame limit while still having vsync off.

My fps randomly seems to be cutting in half from 144hz according to the in game fps counter. Even when just taking a step sometimes. Feels like rubber banding. Anyone else having this issue?

Just tested on my Athlon x4 640 system with 8gb ram 1050ti 4gb 1080p 60 locked medium settings that CPU isn't even meet the minimum requirements. I'm putting a FX-6300 in it before launch

As someone with an FX6300, that's encouraging. We'll see how it runs tomorrow :D
