I'm having fun. Granted, this is the third version of Old Russia I'm playing, but I'm still having fun. I love playing with other people: Urk and Halcylon the 16th, the girls (Everyday Math and Sploatee) last night. This game is so much fun in co-op.

I love playing through the levels on different difficulties.

Awesome sounds so great, I could imagine the game would be great especially with playing with who you did or even friends really! Really looking forward to either my PS4 working or Xbox starting next week. whatever comes soonest, just want to get into the game now!

Got tore up on Crucible last night. I just can't get the hang of the Warlock's jump or Special. Most of the time trying to jump onto a ledge that I could make with the Hunter, I just bounce off. With the Special bomb thing, I usually end up shooting it off course and then landing next to the guy I was trying to kill.

If you've got the same Destiny username, I saw you bouncing about yesterday. *snort*

It's sort of the same. Where did you see me? Crucible? Exploration?

I'm having more fun with Crucible in the Beta than I was in the Alpha...not sure why. I guess it finally clicked with abilities/guns and stuff? I dunno.

Doing a strike or a mission or hard is actually pretty hard. . DGAF should really utilize each other once the full game drop and to see if people will be willing to do pick up missions since I just want to play the game on the hardest difficulty from the start.

Please somebody tell me who the voice actor that you first hear when you load up the game. Holy shit I know him and cannot remember. I think it is the leader of the vampires off of underworld 1?

Make sure you double tap X quickly, gives you the highest altitude.

On PS4, upgrading to the guardian edition costs $29 while the expansion pass costs $35. Did I make a mistake and buy both when I didn't need to? or does the expansion not come with the digital guardian edition?

The Bungie feels especially in the MP are all here

I also really don't know why i suck so much at others fps (i'm decent at Titanfall but far away from being good) meanwhile in 6 matches of Control i got MVP in all of 'em lol

Between this and the Halo Collection my social life is gonna be pretty much dead this fall

It's cool and all that we can see Tower inventory on b.net and on our phones, but I'd really rather not know that the Gunsmith has a great upgrade for me, and that it'll be gone by the time I get home from work.

From what I understood you only needed to buy the digital guardian edition...

Did anyone notice Nathan Fillion and Gina Torres as the Hunter and Warlock "leaders" in the tower? Mal and Zoe reunited ;(

Yup noticed that. If Wash turns up in the retail version as a pilot I may just faint.

...oh and get Jayne in there as hired muscle.

The way I do warlock jump is to basically press x almost immediately after first jump since that'll make you glide up and keep gliding. It's great for pvp when you're on the high ground and float to a different base.

Hopefully in the future they can go further with it, and allow us to buy stuff from vendors without being in the actual game. Would make it easier to do some world wide "Prices are half off the next two hours" or similiar stuff.

The web/app companion is halfway to being super brilliant right now.

I actually got kind of nervous or when you first discover the hive. Although I played the alpha, the music played a huge role along with a new nice head set.
I can totally see that. The music does an amazing job of setting the mood, and in that scene in particular, building a sense of dread. The positional audio is also fantastic and really does an amazing job of immersing you. I haven't tried it with my headset yet, but I will be doing so tonight.

Started as a Hunter and made it to Level 2 last night before I had to go to sleep. I made it to the city to speak with the trainer (i guess) and the postmaster... and now I am in orbit.

When do I start seeing other players in the game that I can join up with or do they have to be in the same clan as me?

When running around the world, doing quests or just exploring, people will phase in and out of your game at random. If you've ever played Journey, it's exactly like that.

OH...I guess I was using it like a jet pack. Jump as far as I can, then engage to get max distance.
I thought that at first too, but the more I think about it the more their method makes sense in that the momentum of your jump is working with the thrust instead is against it.

So... how many people can you see phase in at a time? Is it possible that like 5 or 6 people will be on the planet with you.. but not working with you? Thanks for your help!

No clue, I would guess it would be a total of three (including you), so you can form a striketeam and go do a mission. But yes, people will just run around doing whatever they were doing, you can then group up, or just walk around together for a bit.

The player does increase when you hit an Public Event, where the number of players in your world will increase dramatically to take on the event, and afterwards they will leave again.

Who else is playing with the bumper jumper control setup? I'm so used to pressing X to jump (or A on the xbox), but it feels especially necessary to put jump on the left bumper because of wanting to aim with your right thumb while gliding/jetpacking/double jumping. I'm going to have to retrain myself, but I think it will be for the better.

Whenever you do anything besides float and move camera while floating the power stops. So it's not like It matters much.

Glad they fixed or toned down the snow from alpha. It seems better in the beta. I still notice frame rate dips every now and then but it runs smoother and looks a bit better. The Strike mission, holy shit they increased the difficulty on that one.

Still think the character models when you run around the tower looks cheap and low rez. It looks like the lighting is off compared to when you are in the character creator tool. Also the low level armor looks boring, I need better carrot on a stick lookin loot. Which I haven't seen in the previews either. Hopefully end game armor will look more distinct and bad ass. Right now the only reason for me to level is to increase or open up abilities.

The new Venus map, is fun to play in, but I think it looks horrible. You can tell it's built with last gen in mind. Like the moon base map the best so far.

My overall impression hasn't changed much when I played the alpha, it will be fun to play and get when it comes out, but without knowing what end game content will look like, not sure how long it will hold my interest. I'm probably more excited for destiny 2 when they ditch last gen, and build it solely for current gen.

After playing Titanfall this way, I have to switch to bumper jumper. It's much easier to use your super with x than having to remove your thumb for jumping. It takes some getting used to, but I would recommend it.

Sounds like a good idea but is there a damage penalty when firing in mid-air?

  • The base game is still not very fun.
  • Cutscenes that don't really tell me anything.
  • Story just kinda "starts" with no real draw other than "The Darkness!"
  • The first 30 minutes are absolute trash. I really don't want to repeat that every time I create a new character, in addition, I already played this game for well over 20 hours in the Alpha. Need to be able to skip this or at least have story progression transfer to characters.
  • Story missions are still extremely short.
  • Going back to orbit after story missions is tedious.
  • PVP is good on every map that isn't the Moon.
  • Voice acting is still dull and boring.
  • Music is nice most of the time.
  • Holding [BUTTON] for what feels like eternity is annoying.
The game was more interesting to me in the vidocs.

EDIT: I don't "not like" it, but it isn't very fun. It has moments. Just very "meh" to me.

I'm feeling the very same about the game and I don't get the hype about this game. It's not bad, but it isn't very good either.
But in this state I will definitely not buy this game, because every single thing that is presented in this game has been better in other games.
The Auto-Aim alone is keeping me from this game, this is a godamn shooter and I don't know how people can accept something like this. I wanne move quick and shoot precise, but this is not the way to do it.

True, but it definitely throws me off to have to take my thumb off the thumbstick and then quickly put it back on to reorient myself. Plus you can still aim and fire while you're falling. I don't know, I'm going to try it out for the rest of the beta, I can't really judge it one way or another yet.

Sounds like a good idea but is there a damage penalty when firing in mid-air?

Don't think so, nope. Less accurate maybe. Although it's a Bungie game so probably not much less accurate.

D'oh, I totally forgot. Though all the worlds I was in were well populated. I'll shut up until next week.

Exploring Old Russia is good times.

It's all good. If anyone asks, we're playing on the PS3. You just can't talk about anything xbox specific, like live and/or graphics performance

So is Titan the class everyone is shunning for its lack of an imaginative special power? Any Titan players out there who can shed any light on what that class is like to play?

So uh, in the option menu, my character still doesn't look like how I designed him. Is it supposed to be like this atm?

He looks how I want him to be though in the cut scenes.

Give us a PC-Port Bungie!

Port begging is frowned upon here

Quick question - in the alpha, there were several random events in the world. (Like FF14 FATEs) I was only able to play about an hour last night, but I didnt see any. Have they removed them from the beta?
