Oh yeah. Guys, the very first weapon you get in the game (auto rifle that looks kinda like an M4) is pretty decent in Crucible if you haven't found a better auto rifle. Don't get rid of it!

That's the gun I got 37 kills and 7600 score with so I completely support this post

Weapon types sure matter in PVP. Pulse Rifle sucks in it, and the shotty isn't that good either. Class powers matter too.
It ain't balanced.
Indeed, seems like every time i die in PvP from a primary weapon its an auto rifle. Those things will shred you in a second. I used pulse and it Vs. Auto will always result in the auto winning. You dont stand a chance.

I'm about other classes, but I think the main reason why the Titan ability stands out in PvP is because if you're killed after you activate it and before you hit the ground, you don't lose the super. Happens a lot to me.

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
AI in Bungie games isn't a Halo thing, it's a Bungie thing.

Marathon: Durandal
Halo 1 - 3: Cortana
Halo 3 ODST: Superintendent
Halo Reach: Dot
Destiny: Ghost

It's just a story telling gimmick where they can use a voice to give context to the events happening without having to actually show it. It's the same reason they drop you in as a newly awakened. So that they can assume you know nothing. In fact, the more I think about it the less I actually think the introduction to the game is all that good. Anyway, the game play and loot is there. Enjoying it so far.

Although it's been stated that everyone in the current pvp mode is on equal footing, I guess some still don't believe that. I'm level 8 and have been killed by level 5, all white weapons/gear.

Personally I'm not that good at FPS PVP in general, so I'll admit that some people are just flat out going to dominate/kill in PVP. I'll get better over time, but there are just some people out there that are very good/great in FPS PVP, no matter their current weapon/gear.

I'm still having fun even with my bad K/D, probably will be getting steam rolled during Iron Banner lol.

Because you are not. Weapon effects still work, and classes matter and weapon type matters a lot.
If everyone had auto rifle with no special effects and no class powers, everyone would be at equal footing.

Keep you distance...
If you're going to snipe, use a sniper rifle. The pulse rifle's effective range seems to be at about the same as that of the auto, or at least at the autos end range. You snipe with it and your target generally has enough time to take cover.

A mid to long range primary weapon is also pretty useless without a decent side weapon for mid-close range. Unfortunately your only option there is the shotgun which seems to have about as much range as melee.

The game could really do with a standard pistol side weapon, maybe a SMG.

I think the boss was nerfed in the beta. I had serious trouble in the Alpha but I found it pretty easy in the beta.

I wouldn't know. I never got that far in the Alpha. LOL.

One criticism: why are the clothes become more and more outlandish with each upgrade? I personally like them better when I got started. Now I'm at Level 8, I kinda look like a clown with these new robes (Warlock here).

Yup, the whole normalize thing isn't really playing out. They need to rework that stuff because it's just auto rifles, hunter golden gun & snipers (camping obviously) imo.

Maybe because you were playing on Legend difficulty.

I don't think so. I just remember wave after wave of smaller enemies, including captains in the alpha and didn't even see one captain, plus enemies seemed to spawn less often during the fight septis fight in the beta .

I've seen shotguns, and they work well in PvP because of insta-kill with them
Also, fusion rifles are pretty badass in PvP as well

There are captains in the strike
My guess is your teammates had ways to get rid of Captains easily(Arc Weapons DESTROY Captain Shields).

I agree. They really need to lower auto damage and perhaps raise pulse (lowering auto might be enough).

Come to think of it, that fight deep underground while Ghost tried to hack something was a lot more difficult than the final boss. At least you can maneuver easily with the boss. That underground thing was quite a nightmare.

It's the same as Alpha. A Captain and his minions spawns from the left side periodically.

2 questions.

This two hour event later..is it PVP or single player content? Its PVP Im not sticking around to play it.

I think I read this right..if I own the PS4 and XBone versions of the game my characters can be accesed on both systems? This isnt a one time transfer thing like GTA5, right?

So whats this about?

Additionally, Bungie confirmed that one's Guardian character is playable across both the current generation (PlayStation 4 or Xbox One) and past generation (PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360), within the same system.

Bungie's David Shaw said this was planned all along. "Our service is built with flexibility in mind," he said. "As a player of Destiny, you have a Bungie account that's bound to your PSN ID or your Xbox LIVE Gamertag, instead of a specific generation of device." That's only for character availability; cross-platform play of any type isn't supported.

This game needs more public events in PVE. The ones that do pop are extremely fun (and scaled well for the # people in the area. I'd also liked to see more variety (other than defend the warsat or kill X target). I've managed to get a couple golds on those events too.

I can't speak for the pulse rifle, but i've been doing great with the scout rifle in pvp. Even at mid range I can often kill someone with a auto rifle if I play my cards right and maintain precision. Couple it with the fusion rifle and you've got a gun for nearly every range, just match your play style to the strengths/ranges of the weapon you're using.

Yeah, I don't buy that either. I get 1-2 shotted consistently but I can't do the same to my opponents. Granted, my skill is woefully lacking but I can see when I do hit them (I had pulse rifle at the time so that may have been the problem) it did pretty bad damage.

Are Pulse Rifles really that bad in PVP? I've been top two on my team every single game and all I use is a pulse rifle. Mostly because my random equipment drops have all gives increased reload and damage to pulse rifle.

Will switching items up make a real difference?
