PVP on Venus is currently the only fun thing. Strike on level 8 is alright too. Free roam dies off once you have done everything. You aren't missing anything.

Our team managed to turn over the battle twice, but I think those don't count because I was playing with Shingen-C and that rifle is so damb op.
But yeah, once one team gets the advantage it's pretty damn difficult for the other team to loose.
I want to try out a tactic on the moon. If a team focuses on A and B points only, they could effectively defend them. The other team would have to assault with 3-4 players to have a chance at taking the point. If anyone wants to try out this, I play by the name LORD-UT. I'm in EU.

I've only levelled up my Warlock till LV 4 but I don't see the appeal. It feels quite weak. Am I missing something?

So everyone seems to think the vehicles on the moon are extra overpowered. I put in work with the Interceptor and the pike, but I put in similar work with the scorpion, ghost, and wraith in halo. I don't think they're ridiculously op like a lot of people are saying, but they really need to have an option to hijack vehicles.

I am finding the game enjoyable, the combat is satisfying and I'm enjoying the PvP more than I expected.
but the more I play of it I am concerned with 2 things:
1) Balancing and difficulty. At least on normal the game seems very easy for the most part, with minimal deaths on my playthroughs so far, and it only seems to get more difficult depending on the amount of enemies rather than any presence of any intelligent AI. Of course, playing with other people then just negates this point.
I say this, but on the flip side, I've found the Devil's Lair Strike very difficult, filled with ludicrous amounts of enemies and with most of them very bullet spongey, the defend Ghost part just became an exercise of 3 people running in and out of the room when necessary as the enemies won't follow you.
I then got to a point where one of my Fireteam left mid mission and the 2 of us just could not get past the Devil Walker, it just wasn't possible because of it's stupidly high health. The mission just became an insurmountable battle of attrition rather than an engaging fight.
2) Longevity. I can see already this game will have a lot of content, this thread alone has hinted at the sheer amount of things to do come September.
However, I still don't see the grand "vision" that Bungie has touted here that means people will play this game for the next 2 years before another sequel over the course of this 10 year journey.
I feel like much of what Bungie has touted has in reality just been very dressed up (the tower is just a town with shops and other players doing their own thing, it's a lesser PS Home. And the galaxy we're exploring so far just seems to be an elaborate map screen with level select. I don't see the point to upgrading ships yet but that may be apparent come launch.)
What happens after the campaign? PvP sure, but I'd argue that's not the draw to this game as it is with say CoD. Sure, there are strikes and such to play with friends but I don't see what would keep people here the same way a game like WoW does.
Maybe this is just me but I could see myself being done with this pretty quick after the campaign and a few strike missions.

If a map has vehicles, start everyone with a small amount of heavy weapon ammo.
I feel the same way. I love the world and visuals, but find the game ao boring to play. It can be fun from time to time to do missions with friends, but Borderlands' more enjoyable weapons made that a lot less repetitive.

Everyone with rocket launcher ammo at the beginning... I don't think that'd be a good idea personally.
Oh, but hopefully there is some type of weapon akin to the plasma pistol in halo that completely shuts down vehicles for a couple of seconds.

Really? What platform? Hasn't happened to me. Played about 12 matches now on PS4.
PS4 as well, and usually only with 6 player fireteams in Crucible. It didn't seem to be so bad at first, but it has worsened.

Im not feeling this multi at all. I don't believe in my heart that it's balanced well and therefore I've kill I experience is frustating. It makes me want to play the halo collection multiplayer. Halo multi is just way better than this multi. Way better polished and put together.
I fee like if you aren't using the auto rifle you just don't have a real chance. It's all about damage per second in Destiny. Plus some people have amazing weapons I mean how could I possibly combat their loadouts?

Not sure who is saying this... they are very different games, even though people find it easy to compare the two.
Just hit 6, really want to try a strike mission. Class wise is there a big difference between the 3 early game? I definitely see a difference in style with all the abilities as you level. Just wondering how different they play these first 6-7 levels. Enjoying the beta, and likely leaning towards keeping my pre-order. The Strike Mission may swing the decision.

Early areas in loot centric games tend to be pretty boring, this game included. I can see the potential though and I'm willing to give Bungie the benefit of the doubt. The Strike on Hard is pretty cool, more stuff like that.

God damn I was on fire on the crucible. I'm so ready for the event. Just did 6845 on Venus with 32 kills, 8 assists, 2.91 k/d, and 8 captures cause I'm a team player. Okay I'll shut up now.

Did the one Strike in the game. Really boring. Are we really supposed to shoot the same enemy for 15 minutes or am I missing something?

But then again, this thread has 18000 posts in it, there's bound to be some crazy people out there. It's a beta with very limited content and people in this thread have all done mostly everything there is to do. That's when the doubt creeps in.
