I can see the attraction in a carry but I'd like the first one to be done properly, I'm definitely getting there with the game mode, I just need to learn the maps as an elimination mode and up my decision making

It is a mentally exhausting exercise. You actually have to be thinking and planning pretty well all the time, keeping track of different variables and adjusting on the fly. I think that's half of what makes VoG fun. It's hard work, in the context of a video game, and that makes it feel a lot more rewarding. I think that's the let-down with Crota - just follow orders and shoot rockets while the hunter does the work, and here's your free gun.

Even more exhausting when Templar just keeps handing you Praedyth's Revenge and Atheon keeps giving you helmets and vehicles and you're still FBless and Vexless after god knows how many (but at least >20) runs :/

Anyone else getting a crazy Destiny boosting advertisement on GAF?

I wasn't sure if it had to do with this Destiny or something else so I clicked on it out of curiosity (one of the rotations mentions Destiny). It is a full-fledged website selling things like flawless Osiris cards, PoE, etc. It reminded me of a MMORPG currency farming site from back in the day. The crazy thing is sites like this wouldn't exist if there wasn't a market for it. I'm quite shocked people would actually pay the prices they are asking for some of these things.

Good god skolas sounds ridiculous

Sounds silly but its the best fight in the game now, requires solid teamwork and communication. More than any of the other raids or strikes IMO.

My problem last night was people arbitrarily tripping and dying. Like nothing shooting at them not jumping just walking on wacky VoG floors and suddenly they rocket up into the air ragdolling. Lots of Praetorian health regen too. It was great.

yep, this is my issue with both the raids. 90% of failures killing crota are because of random bugs that occur. it's crazy that they are apparently unable to crush the bugs this long after release.

Lots of other people have already chimed in with helpful answers, so I just wanted to add my 2 cents that the game has made tons of improvements since launch while admittedly still having plenty of room to improve.

And of course you can play with all the fine folks around here! PS4 populations is larger but X1 group is quite healthy as well.

I get why some of them happen, just because of the nature of lag, but still it would be nice if they had some means of addressing it. Even just better feedback to the players on what's happening. The whole green bar/red bar system is wildly inconsistent and hard to make useful. Of course that just the little stuff. Not all the bugs are bad though. Killed the templar earlier this week with ONE GJALLARHORN ROUND lol (and the wolfpacks didn't even connect - he just fucking died, presumably from shame or something lol) (edit: from full health - we had just wiped, and with one player afk because we were half-taking a break lol)

Yeah, I need to do it more for sure but right now most players are just way more experienced so it makes it harder to be on that level.

Hopefully with TTK I can get in on the raid game sooner ahah

But yeah, definitely the best part of the game, no doubt. The loot table could be a little better or more reliable but hey, it's fun enough to do on it's own I think.

We had some glitchy stuff going on too with the portals and being detained on Templar and dying even though the shields were down, also we kept getting double marked during Templar which was costing us loads of time, actually killed him when that happened

This is why I love GAF, someone came in here offering like $5 to run him through PoE 34 and me and someone else stepped up and told him to put the money away and got it done in a half hour. It sucks that people don't know about GAF and are stuck trying to pay their way into skilled fireteams or have to deal with the dumb requirements like Gally's only in LFG (which turn out to be not skilled players).

Playing as my warlock these past several days made me realize something: I hate warlocks.

Since there seems to be a big interest in Skolas kills for Year One Triumph, and I see Drizz is willing to help out, I'm going to start a Skolas School list. I had one member already PM me about this weekend so he's 1 on my list. To try and get through as many people as possible I am going to leverage some requirements so it doesn't take 3 hours per run. I actually don't run with any exotics, but you will need upgraded weapons.

Requirements:
1. You've never had a Skolas kill
2. Level 34
3. Class doesn't matter, but subclass will. Need a fully leveled Defender, Sunsinger, or Bladedancer.
4. Have a 365 legendary for each slot to be flexible (typical suggestions include an elemental Hand Cannon, arc Shotgun, Sniper, and Rocket Launcher)

Completely optional but will be very helpful if you have the time to start gathering these:
1. Fallen PoE Gear for Armor/Recovery boost
2. Found Verdict or similar arc Shotgun for specialist VIP fallen round
3. Fatebringer for the Arc Burn Cabal round
4. Helm of Saint 14 for Titans, Ram for Warlocks

That's it.

Here's the list:

Just quote the list and add yourself to it. Whenever I get time to hop on this week and start working kills I'll go top down through the list. This weekend I should have a lot of time to do several runs starting Friday night.

I don't know how I feel about it. Immediate reaction is that it's gross (especially at those prices). On the other hand, if people want to spend their money on that then it's their business. I've probably spent that much on worse.
