Interesting that the distributions were similar for encrypted green and blue, but very different for purple. I'm assuming (hope) that the sample sizes for each were the same?

I haven't seen a single person ever run away from a Bladedancer. They never make it far enough. At least for me.
Yeah? I'm pretty good at managing it. Just turn around, sprint, jump / fall to a different level, and change directions when you're out of a view to confuse them.

This. I've yet to kill anyone using bladedancer, it works wonders in PVE but PVP thats a different story but then again maybe I am bad.

Same here. I can run away from a Bladedancer a third of the time, but the nova bomb and hulk smash are pretty hard to dodge. I usually play with a team, though, so we can warn each other when a Bladedancer is running around.

I'm not falling for it you sneaky Hunters. "Oh it really sucks, Titans and Warlocks are better... /wink"

Realize that this is somewhat tainted. They counted all material components (motes, coins, etc...) as blues.

So while purple's number is very accurate, blue's number isn't telling the whole story.

That said, I still think the blue and purple percentages should be swapped.

A better-than-1-in-3 chance at a legendary or exotic is so much better than I expected based on the number of reports... but RNG doesn't care about consistency I guess, just the individual roll.

When I've got 10 engrams stockpiled in the vault I'll pop 'em open and tell you guys what I get. :)

Remember, just rolling for better than rare on a legendary engram still doesn't guarantee you any Light progression.

Gave in and started playing the way the cryptarch wants me to play. I started a titan! I've got to say that I'm having a lot of fun rolling through the story on hard with an over powered boss. Level 12 rocking a Galahed-E, knowing that in 8 levels I'll be able to put on my legendary gear! It's funny how level 20's react to me in the explore zones, especially whee I was an 8 with a dome shield.

That sounds really ominous.

Have we even ever seen him decrypt something? He just stands there, and wags his head around.

I said this! "Order of cryptarchs". Psch. No such thing. Guy went crazy about 10 years ago.

Everyone is so goddamned bad at Crucible.

Shh! I WON A GAME before and got a 10 killstreak. That means I'm great.

Auto Rifles eat other guns for breakfast.

I have a "Forcing Faction". It holds about 60 bullets in a clip and I can carry about 800. It fires so fast. It's basically just a weaker machine gun. I love it.

He's in cahoots with Xur. The Cryptarch takes our purps and yellows and gives us trash, then Xur sells our own stuff back to us.

Plausible.

I can usually always get at least one kill with it by watching the radar and picking a good time to activate as a group is coming around a corner. The only time it really goes wrong is if someone manages to stuff me with a Titan super or a good shotgun hit. And sometimes it converts easily into 3 or 4 kills either with the AOE R2 move or just a bunch of quick slashes.

Same. Though one time I got into a aerial fight with one. I'm a Sunsinger Warlock. He chased me and I flew into the air shooting down at him while gliding backwards. He jumped up and started slashing toward me. I punched him and we went flying back slightly, but had enough time to slash at me again to keep his air time.

Then I looked down my irons and gunned him down the best I could since Sunsingers can stay in the air for a little bit when aiming. I almost had him dead but he got me.

I wish I had a video of that. It was some DBZ shit going on there.

145 more points to go. Almost done with this step of the ridiculous exotic bounty.

You are truly my hero.

I forgot to ask but I know it was asked a fuck ton around launch - where is the PlayStation exclusive stuff? Is it all in the game but subjected to RNG or what?

I have a feeling we're going to see nearly everyone running around with the same exotics next week. Think a lot of people missed out on Xur last week without enough coins, but this time everyone seems ready and he will only have a handful of exotics, and no one will wait another week if none are particularly fitting for their style.

I have almost maxed my blade dancer class. Gonna have to switch back to gunslinger soon. I was excited to unlock blink, but it seems so useless and feels difficult to pull off. It takes away your double jump, too, so you can't get much height.

I've played the game for 28 hours, I've never had a legendary engram, or a legendary drop. I've also never had an exotic bounty. I've got a pretty sick all blue suit that's got me to level 24 though.

My time will come...

What would be your guy's ideas for a 4th class? I can't really think of anything.
I still think it might be more stealth related. There are so many alternate "stealth" routes in and around Cabal structures - they had to have been experimenting with something.

So there should be no chance of getting a yellow from a purple, or a purple from a blue?
Yeah. You get a purple drop, you get purple and only purple. Same with the other colors. Convention in all loot games everywhere isn't it?

Otherwise you are purposefully setting up players for disappointment. Of all the weirdness in Destiny, the engram system is the one I just cannot fathom at all.

Anyone been in an arc blade vs. arc blade fight? I had my second one last night. so intense and fun. I'd play an entire mode of that, locked in third person.

Haha, that sounds epic as hell.

Also, I totally forgot I can do a weird flying slash thing as a Bladedancer. How does that even work? Maybe that's why I suck so much.

Have people discovered yet that Grimoire progression actually affects Gameplay? Here's a few of the ones I've found:

I'm especially interested in the location effects (third screenshot). Basically this means that once you kill enough enemies in a zone, you'll get more Relic Iron, Helium Filaments, etc. Really useful for upgrading legendaries.

Have I missed any other really useful grimoire effects that people know about?

Reposting this here since it ended up as the last post on the previous page, and I want to make sure people see this. I'm not sure how well known this is yet or if it's been mentioned at all for that matter.

No it's broken. You are more likely to get a lower level item (Uncommon or Rare) than you are a Legendary item. By almost double. That's just stupid considering how hard they are to come by.

PURPLE ENGRAM RARITY:

White: 0
Green: 2 \ 3.64%
Blue: 33 \ 60%
Purple: 19 \ 34.55%
Yellow: 1 \ 1.82%

I think they need to fix it so less drop but those that do really are legendary but I also don't think legendary engrams are all that uncommon.

Hell, they shouldn't be percentages at all. Those percentages should be factored into the chance of getting a drop of the requisite color in the first place.

Well, don't forget that when you see an engram on the ground, it has a chance of being an actual item as you pick it up. Who knows what that percentage is though.
