Control aint working :/ any reason why?

I'm not understanding the mediocre reviews.

Is it because of the hype? This game, to me, is better than any Halo, and they got great reviews. This is one of the first times I really disagree with most reviewers.

9/10 at least!

How far are you in it?

I get the feeling we're going to be WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL into OT5 by the time the time these threads drop off the front page.

For being a mediocre game, everyone's playing it.

Some of the games I've sunken tons of hours into have been mediocre critically, haha :)

Aw yiss, fully leveled Striker. Gonna level up Defender too, be versatile and shit.

Also got out of that 24 pit, 26 here I come!
Gotta ask, as a fellow Titan, how are you using your super in strikes and boss battles? Do you focus on minions while the rest of your team uses their big stuff on the boss? That's pretty much how I've played both striker and defender because otherwise its damn near suicide.

Its also the prime reason I started a hunter, so I could actually use my powers to help take down bosses.

The more I play the more I see how legitimate of an MMO the game is. Warts and all. It feels so similar to my experiences with WoW.

It definitely is not as open ended as WoW, but the areas are big enough to get lost in.

DUDES, what's the quickest and most painless way to level up vanguard rep? I'm determined to get some fucking legendary tonight no matter what. Two crucible, one vanguard.

I've been busy as hell and haven't played since hitting 20 on Monday. Looking forward to firing it up tonight and digging into the post-game stuff.

It's because it tells a shitty story, terrible social system(no voice chat/no trading etc), terrible mission designs, terrible bulletsponge bosses, worlds feel empty, Everything is a grind, and unsatisfactory loot system.

That is why.

I'm starting to think you only get exotic bounties when you're level 25 and up.

I got one at 24. It's just random like everything else.

Outside of bounties, the easiest thing to do is just grind patrols for +10 rep. Strikes don't give out enough rep to be worth the time investment.

I found the Leaderboards...

Looking good so far, but I got some work to do for single game kills.
I didn't know I was that good! :p

Started using the hand cannon in crucible and just tearing shit up with it. If I'm going off with a rare gun I wanna see how well I do with an exotic. That "The Last Word" sounds omgbg.

Bounties, 50 or 100 rep. Some are far easier than others.

Patrols. U get 10 for most of them but they only take a few minutes to do. Certain ones get u 25.

Also, do the weekly strike or whatever the ond is that gets u 150 rep.

I've been lurking this thread for a while now but just now decided to post.

So I just hit level 20, spent all my money on a ship (lol) and currently looking on factions. Any recommendations for a Warlock that likes punching and throwing grenades.

I don't want to farm anymore, so I'm actually expeting to get faction gear to level up as recommended some pages before, sooo, any suggestions?

Dead Orbit has gear for punching and grenade throwing, but is weak at supers. They're in the section to your right on spawn at the tower.

You have to buy and wear their warlock band and then do strike missions, crucible matches, and bounties to level them up to rank 2 with them before you could buy anything worthwhile. Bounties is where it'll rank up the fastest.

Hey guys, is there any other requirements on the Public events other than being at a location at the right time? Because twice last night I was where a public event should spawn/start only to have no event start.

Also, is there a way to predict those enemies gathering fights where the enemies suddenly level up?

Take care of whatever PvE bounties are up today, then go hit patrol missions on Mars. The best mission loop is going between Hollows and Freehold. Loot all chests and Relic Iron while you're killing stuff. Turn in excess Relic Iron to weapons vendor when you're done.

So is it weird that I actually enjoy the grind? I also enjoy the RNG bits, now my luck has been better than some and worse than others, but still.

I like that, if need be, you alone can bring your character up to a pretty high level. Sure it might take a couple weeks if you're a busy person, but if your schedule is weird or life has other commitments this mechanic allows you to see progress of some sort on your character every day (even if it's just some marks or rep). I wouldn't want or suggest doing it all alone but I like that there are avenues for it. I also like that while working towards these very attainable goals you can find engrams which might cap a day off with something really cool.

I wont sit here and say the game and all of its systems are perfect, but I find it damn fun. Bungie has put a reasonable path to progress your character in not a lot of time.

I just feel like the drops=progression mindset is not how the game intends you to advance your character. Not a single legendary engram I have received has contributed to my Warlock's 26 levels. To each their own, but I see people sitting at that stupid cave for hours for nothing. Meanwhile I'm jumping around doing all kinds of different things, having a great time and I'm able to make progress. As has been said, there's no luck involved to get your emblems.

Good luck with that. I'm dropping my Hunter off at the nearest Guardian retirement home when it comes to high level strikes and Raids.

I find the supers completely useless against bosses.

Guys what's the best way to get Legendary equipment? I think I must have spent around almost four hours doing the hive gate entrance on the moon mission via level 9 hard and only got to 21/22 with all blue gear with some Strange Coins and few blue drops/a lot of greens!

Just keep at it?

If you want to feel useless, run around with a shotgun and a melee-ranged ground-pound.

Every last boss in the game has a fuck-you-for-playing-a-melee-class move and they don't even have to look your way to use it.

Back from job hunting, which ended on a job offer, YEAH!!! Now time for some quick bounties and then several hours of dying during the raid.
Congrats! Hopefully the Cryptarch doesn't decrypt your purple offer engram to blue. May the RNG be ever in your favor!

This happened to me. It just popped up saying I had gotten a legendary engram, no drop or sound that I remember, no legendary on the result screen. It was there when I checked my inventory after finishing the match.

Did you kill someone close range and catch it right away? This happens sometimes if you are really close the enemy you killed.

Ammunition packs. Get some for special and heavy weapons. Good for higher level stuff where u burn through it faster.
Ok, done.

Buy green garbage from the cryptarch to level him up and get a care package that might yield you legendary engrams.
Think that's gonna take a lot more than 10k lol. He goes up like +5 to +25 at a time as I've already got him to rank 3. Hopefully he'll have some uncommons at the stock refresh, they work better

Ah that's right, spot on. Couldn't remember, haven't been able to do them for a few days as doing what you've said max'd my marks out early Tuesday!

I can only really enjoy four or five games of crucible at any one time before it starts dragging, so yeah I do tend to give my mats to the crucible guy.

I was so disappointed by that woman. She should be sacked. Bring someone in with better/more shaders!

Those shaders are terrible. A clown color and nail polish? Really? Thats what you give us in the very fist days of the game. Smh.

You should be farming vanguard, faction, or crucible rep. Forget about countless hours of mob farming, you're going to burn yourself out and resent the game.

crucible needs changes, like the auto rifle, it has too much power, if anyone appears behind, you have no chances...
i think we need a pvp like halo, where tactics own luck

FINALLY! After 2 hours of grinding Rumble and A LOT of swearing, I finally got 500 points with a void weapon complete! Now the next step is to do the Moon strike but leave Phogoth alive and wait for the dropship to bring in an elite Wizard. Does this need to be done on a Heroic difficulty?

It's a b***h, I've been holding off on doing it since I don't really like hand cannons, plus I got my first exotic last night and I want to level it up. I tried it solo, took me a while to get past the first section, when they say heavily shielded they mean it. Put an entire clip into an enemy and didn't even scratch that shield. You will need to do ark and solar damage depending on the enemy to break the shield first.

Edit: This is it.

Got this from a legendary engram just now. That magazine size.
Dk0z3XR.jpg

The magazine size is due to the rate of fire though. You'll burn through that entire magazine quick. I have an AR that has max fire rate (just a rare) and it also has a large magazine. It's a good medium distance weapon. Worthless at long range due to recoil/low impact.

I found a green shingen-c with a ton of stability and near top fire rate, it's a lazer gun in PvP I love it, best thing though is the upgrade includes stability the more I shoot it.
