Anyone else find the time of day dramatically impacts crucible difficulty?

If I play in the morning eat I beast and am top 2 every time. At night I'm usually lucky to even be 1.0 k/d aand at the bottom.

Jesus the amount of Rare armor I keep getting which is level 15-18 with 150ish defense while everything I have is already 220+.

Whats the point in trying to increase Light when I keep getting worse items. >_<

I would be so pissed if I were one of the guys who did the Strikes on 26 and got fuck all.

The best thing in the entire game is:

"Do you know where the Black Garden is?"

"EVERYONE knows where it is"

*cue stuff*

"Now tell us where the Black Garden is!"

"They don't know where it is XD"

Just like....what?
I don't have time to explain why I dont have time to explain

all these FPS kids are supposed to be in school in the morning

I don't even think folks who place top regularly in PvP need a legendary drop.

I wouldn't mind getting extra marks for doing especially well in PvP.
Or even more rep. I agree with you, though. The top players should not be guaranteed better loot on account of their performance. I think the random drop system currently in place, as everyone has a fair chance of getting loot regardless of their skill level.

I am in love with PvP and play it just for fun. It's simply an awesome bonus to have its drops be symbiotic with my progress in PvE, whether it be gear or dismantling mats.

I'll probably eat some major crow for posting sentiments similar to yours in past threads, but I think relying on farming and luck is not the way to play Destiny unless you want to make yourself miserable.

Lucky enough to be WORLD FIRST in the raid? Then congrats. With the way loot works, I can't say Bungie cares too much about that. However, I do think Bungie wants us to get our marks and reputations up. The moment we get our reps up, we'll be able to buy legendaries at an somewhat-weekly basis. If I were you, I'd go for what's guaranteed over what's random. Destiny's loot is so RNG based, I don't think it's wise to even try to game it.

Yeah I agree. I think i'm just going to concentrate on bounties and patrol mission for a few hours tonight. If I can get my Dead Orbit rank up to 2 I'll be a happy bunny.

So I guess I'm not getting an exotic bounty today. Just logged in to check my daily challenges and two of them involve playing skirmish but it's gone now since the weekends over.

Haha somewhat. More people are online at night. I imagine skilled people log in.

The progression in this game post-20 is... kind of messed up. I don't mind RNG elements for advancing armor and such. I play Monster Hunter for God's sake. But at least in Monster Hunter I'm making progress towards something, even if I don't end up with what I'm grinding for. A different armor set, some stuff to sell, some coins in the case of the arena. In this game I feel like I'm spending about half an hour each strike just for a couple hundred glimmer that I can't spend on anything. The entire point of grinding is to feel like you're working towards something. I feel like I just wasted a bunch of time. If the point is to ignore all that PVE stuff and play PVP repeatedly like every other arena shooter, what was the point of the strike playlists?

I know I'm going to do this Raid next week and come out the other end with some level 16 green Cydonia AR3. Maybe a blue engram that will turn into some uncommon garbage. I'm counting on it.

^No, I don't think so. It just all sucks. I think it might be specifically for gearing alts, because by the time you get the chests the gear isn't worth wearing. One gives you a strange coin, though, so there's that.

The loot in crucible is whack. I got an exotic scout rifle my fourth match ever (did well, but still), and nothing since then. If you want legendaries, do some nexus farming. I've gotten 5 legendary engrams in 2 runs (about an hour each), one of which turned into a legendary hmg (dat amazing success rate).

I think the whole luck of getting rewarded from pvp keeps people playing, just like how it is in pve too. It is a delicate balance.

Raids are actually going to drop good gear

Holy damn, just saw this OT and already almost 80 pages.

The title, hilarious and infuriating, even though I've never even had a Legendary drop yet... Level 23 and no Legendary drops... Just blues that more often than not are blue.

I thought Legendary drops are always Legendary, but they might not be for your class.

Have you already leveled up all your factions and maxed out all your gear and a second subclass?

I actually feel like there's always something to do. Shit, even just killing Dregs will eventually level you up to get better rewards from killing dregs thanks to Grimoire leveling.

Most of us don't have the rep and coins yet but with time you can just buy the legendaries you need from the vendors and eventually you'll accrue coins for Xur to get your exotics. I missed out this time but I'll definitely have enough to get one next week. There are safe guards for those unlucky people. For the moment, gearing is RNG

Give it time. This game is not an end product like every reviewer would have the un-educated gaming masses to believe. I firmly believe this game is going to evolve into something big by the end of it's life cycle.
Charged us like it was a finished game... I guess as long as they don't charge us more... Lol nm.

The xbox one achievement app doesn't show progress towards Destiny achievements like other games show. They just pop when you hit the number. I guess it's a bug?

what? never heard of that

By better rewards he means "give more glimmer when using items that increase their glimmer drop rate".

That's what getting the kill ranks for enemies does.

If you fill up the kill ranks for a planet you get more material drops from the nodes. I now get at least 2 spinmetal every time in russia. sometimes up to 4-5.

So is anyone else really enjoying the Patrols?

I know it is a bit pointless, but I love just tooling around the environment picking up some small tasks/quests and then just exploring. The worlds are beautiful and do seem pretty large.

I just wish I had a map so I could sort of track the spots I have been and set waypoints and such.

Destiny hasn't blown my mind, but I am really enjoying it still!

Yeah, check out the grimoire cards at bungie.net. It's nice. I can now get bonus XP for all my toons for using the handcannon. All because i used a handcannon to kill 5000 enemies.

What's RNG mean?

Forgive my ignorance :\

Random Number Generator :p

I don't even think gearing is RNG completely. People who got geared piss fast either got extremely luck with drops or got their reps up to at least rank 2.

Late to comment on thread title but I lol'ed

After playing all weekend and loving every second of it to come back to the forum and see so much hate is jarring.

Anyways is the Nexus farming considered a exploit or is it legit? Hate to get banned.

The bolded is what makes patrols so much fun. Along with day/night cycle(sunset on mars is amazing) and real time weather Finding secrets and seeing the little fine details in the world.

I realize that the story is a jigsaw puzzle and the spaces are re-used, but I think these may be actual deliberate design decisions. I think we will see the game transform on the fly and much of these concerns will melt away, which is why I think the review scores are overly harsh. You don't score a stellar action game a 6 because of a throwaway story or a disjoint mission structure. This was a political response to a marketing juggernaut from reviewers who were understandibly annoyed to be put in a tough spot (reviewing after launch).
I'm not going to defend anyone here but those comments are not that great.

SM64 had you constantly progressing up to the end, every visit to a stage usually varied enough to get each star and yes you do repeat things and run around the same areas a lot, that's not the bad bit here.

Destiny has you reach the 'end' and then expect you to replay what you have already completed, just on a harder mode where enemies have more hit points, there is less variation and no branching paths in missions to mix things up.

Having little story in a game like SM64 for a basic plot works a lot better then trying to have an epic story told in a handful of broken pieces with no real resolve.

Just an exploit - they'll patch it I imagine, but I can't imagine people getting banned.

So. I actually did this Exotic Hand Cannon bounty and followed the waypoints to the speaker to collect my reward, but now it doesn't show up in my inventory.

Words cannot describe the pain I feel.

I feel so awkward when it seems like a vast majority act like the game is atrocious, yet I'm having tons of fun soloing the story missions, and even going back to Old Russia and just dicking around doing nothing in particular.

Of course, I did get some rare encrypted engrams that turned into uncommons, so I get that complaint now.

I'll be online at 3:00 PM EST today of anyone is interested in the Nightly Strike. (PS4)

For Raid, anyone in need of a Titan Defender? That's the subclass I'm going in as for the raid.

If the achievement app is not being told values it's not going to show it, it more then likely get's a yes or no from the game with no middle value.

People just like to act like kids sometimes. They love the game too or they wouldn't compain so loud.

Patrols are a great way to level up your rep if you have a party of 3 that's willing to split up to take down the annoying compass and ghost missions. Make sure to get your max number of marks.

PM me :) I'm getting a team together for 5pm PDT/8pm EDT. You have a legendary weapon and at least level 25? Or are you level 26?

People with complaints are acting like kids? What about those tweets linked above in defense of the game - that's more childish than anything.

You know what really rustles my jimmies, the loot drops in this game - or lack thereof. I jumped into a Vanguard Strike mission last night with some randoms and the mission we we're assigned was the
Cortex/Robot
thing on Venus. Both of the rother players dropped within 5 minutes of the mission start, so I forged on alone. Made it to the boss and found a spot where I could chip away at his health, then with a sliver of life left the servers decide to add 2 more players - boss dead with me having down 99% of the work.

So what do our winners receive?! Well, the randoms that joined in the last 2 minutes got armor shaders and blue encrypted engrams. And I? I got a helmet that was several grades below what I already have. bungie pls
