Done hell of a lot of testing 3.5/5 instances it gave me an item based on that class. Just to be clear I am talking about armor. But then again I can be an outlier here.

Tell that to my complete Titan and Warlock gear with exotics that is in my Vault. I only have a hunter and I had to gear it with vendor legendaries -.-
