Holy heck I've been out for a week and suddenly Mankind Divided might be bad?
How did this all start? Which review? What were the reasons?

for people who have the console version,
what's the deal w/ the mission you get for pre-ordering?

is it dumb or is it decent?

I'm not expecting anything beyond decent

it's short and/or main plot is underwhelming
it's human revolution 2
it looks like a ps3 game
you can't max it on a pc w/ a 970
random skullduggery and chicanery

Now this is just overreaction.
Where does it say anything about the game being bad? Yea people are disappointed with the story but not one review said anything about the game being bad.

Not here, but divisive opinions everywhere.
Basically, if I adored Human Revolution and Deus Ex before, I'm still fine with this game?

I'd like to know where you saw these divisive opinions. I mean the reviews were positive about the game itself and if they can be this positive despite the story shortcomings then I'd say the game makes up for it.

I've been playing it since this morning and this is basically an improved Human Revolution in every sense so it's not really possible for this to be bad if you found HR to be good.

OUT OF NOWHERE - IT'S FUCKING HAPPENING

When people are saying the story is bad, what's the metric? Like is it bad in general, bad compared to Deus Ex 1, etc?

All I really want out of it is a fun ride (and maybe some fanservice+references to the original). Human Revolution's wasn't that hot either aside from a few things here and there.

All signs seem to point to this just being Human Revolution again, with similar flaws. The boss fights are gone, but the plot and ending are apparently underwhelming and some of the routes sound a bit contrived rather than open and sandboxy (i.e.; vents everywhere, very convenient security terminals, etc.)

But again, for fans of Human Revolution this sounds like a very straightforward sequel - more of the same - doesn't shake it up. I don't see any of that as particularly worrying.

Yeah I'd like to know this as well. As far as I'm concerned, almost every game story is a pile of shit, so if it's at least a pile of shit I think we are on track for the game being fine. Anything more than that is a nice bonus imo.

The Preorder (D1) mission ist not unlocked yet. I guess Square will not provide the codes until early next week.

I'll post some excerpts from the "negative" reviews that explains the game's negatives which echo the one NeoGaf user who beat the game+90% of side quests in 12 hours and said the story suddenly ends abruptly. First gotta have a shower. Hang tight.

My mouse have been hovering over the Pre-Order button for a long time now :3

Footage and impressions seems alright so far and while some are complaining about performance I cant help to think drivers and SLI would probably negate some of that + messing with the config on my own to at least achieve 60fps with good fidelity.

Be honest those of you that have pre-loaded the game, you've hit the play button at least once, hoping the game would launch, right?

I'm looking forward to this. Man, I can't believe the game's so close. One of those surprises from not following it too closely. Heck, did it market much at all?

PS4 is most definitely a mix of high and medium. It has things like SSS, SSR and cloth physics which are absent in PC's medium but present in high, the texture resolution is higher than PC equivalent of medium as well. The AF is most likely 2x or 4x..no more. The LOD distance for objects would be probably be medium (although this is one thing that could be individually tweaked for consoles to be around low). The POM looks like a 1:1 match to PC's high than medium (where it is just..on)...but it looks weird due to low AF and sharpening. On the other hand shadows are definitely medium and motion blur of any sorts seems to be absent in PS4 version.

Then again some console games can have variable settings that can change depending on locations. But I think it's safe to say this game in particular is a mix of high-medium.

The game has a soft Vsync on PS4 where it starts tearing in demanding scenes, usually these are scenes with lots of geometry/characters. The framerate is ok , it's not bad but it's not super stable and it does drop here and there when in hubs...seems fine during missions.

Excellent thanks, i'll go for the PS4 version

How long before launch does cdkeys typically deliver steam keys (for preload, etc)?

Or does it vary by game/publisher?

On PC: Gamepad vs keyboard and mouse?

Gamepad I get to slowly cruise around and soak up the atmosphere while I sit back all comfy with my feet up.

K&M you get to aim and shoot with pinpoint precision.
Depends on your playstyle. If you want to play it as a shooter, mouse seems better. But if you want to do mostly stealth, then gamepad should be fine.

You get the mission by registering your game on the SE website, and you're supposed to get a PSN code after registering, but no code is being sent out yet.
From what I've read (Giant Bomb review) the mission is nice and is not really "in-game". It's just additional content and you can actually access it from the main menu.

Mankind Divided- the Invisible War of the Deus Ex franchise reboot

*I actually liked Invisible War and thought it was underrated and under-appreciated by the masses

Maybe we don't drag MD to that level of shittiness, ye?
Yea I don't get where all this jumping to conclusions is coming from..it's not from the reviews nor is it from the scores..nor is it from anywhere since everyone said it's a good game that basically feels like improved Human Revolution...how is that bad ?

Yep this a comment on a review thread of a game that didn't score 90 on the metacritic.

So essentially the story is kinda ass but the gameplay is still great? I can dig that, not like HR had a story that was great, no Deus Ex game will have a story that can rival 1 anyway.

With Deus Ex I got what I expected. With No Man's Sky I expected sonething close to the reveal trailer. I didn't get that.

Have you already played it or are you basing this on reviews? I mean 5 years... it plays good but somehow I am really underwhelmed. Still not finished but since people say it doesn´t get better I am already a little bit disappointed (by far not a bad game though). No Mans Sky on the other side... I was expecting a mess and it is surprisingly fun.

People discussing why a game averaging scores in the mid 80s is so bad.

No Mans Sky has ruined people.

Naw it's just the usual "one person gets the game early and says it's short/bad" and everyone takes that as representation the game is shit, even when 90% of the reviews out there say it's basically as good as Human Revolution.

I mean you could beat Human Revolution if you're really trying in like 8-10 hours, but for most people it took 20+. So seeing a 12ish hour playthrough for Mankind Divided doesn't worry me too much.
