I CANT DECIDE

This is the only full game release I've been really looking forward to this year. I'm excited to get my hands on it. I loved Human Revolution.

I just cannot imagine this game not being critically acclaimmed.

Same here.Games like this are missing out these days.We need to have games like Deus Ex or Dishonored around just to remind the newer generations what it means to play a real game, not just some dumbed down shooter or top notch graphics game with zero gameplay elements

I hope gaming sites will make a bigger fuss about the release of Deus Ex,rather than flooding us with another No Man's Sky article or the imminent Destiny expansion

Oh it will. It will be the NeoGaf GOTY probably akin to Bloodborne. I really can't see anything topping this.
While I'm certain this will do well, I think it's a bit naive to say you can't see anything topping it here on GAF. Regardless of how you feel of these games, I'm willing to bet a very, very large contingent of GAF will vote for Uncharted 4, Dark Souls III, Doom or Overwatch.

I've got a gaming desktop with a 970, so I'm good there but I'm hoping I can also play this on my laptop, which has a 6500u and. 965m. Thoughts?

Speaking of bloodborne.

That was the last game that i have looked forward to its release as much as this one.

Im just gonna come out and say it, for many and myself i really think this is my next "The last of us"

I've played all 3 of those games. Uncharted 4 is nothing really special. I felt it would win GOTY after beating it, but after a couple of days, I realized it wasn't really special. I thought Uncharted 2 and 3 were more fun and set pieces were better. Last of Us had a better story as well.

Doom...the only promising thing about the game is the SP. As great as that is, the rest falters considerably.

Overwatch...filled a void in the FPS moba player space. Loot boxes threw me off completely. Console players feel like second class citizens...(can't even post on Blizzard forums LMFAO)

Deus Ex MD...a game that has so much love put into it. It's really a gem. I know...I know...I haven't even played it...but I've watched like all the developer interviews and I know personally it's going to be, at least, my GOTY. I felt the same about HR before that game was released, so I know my expectations aren't just running wild for no reason. I mean, just go watch a gameplay video of the game...LOOK AT THE DETAIL in the levels. Like, you just wanna stop every moment and admire every thing. And the new Breach arcade mode looks super fun addition as well.

Haven't seen the whole review but I believe this is an excerpt from it:

While Mankind's main story thread can be rattled through in 20 hours or so, it's world - in which side quests unfurl into complex threads of their own and the potential for exploration and experimental play is dizzying - invites you to linger.
This confident refinement of Human Revolution's potent, though flawed, proof of concept has resulted in one of the most elaborate videogame sandboxes in which we've ever had the pleasure of getting lost.

damn...

Don't you mean Uncharted 4? We're talking about NeoGAF, right?

As much as I want it to happen, I doubt it will. There's also DOOM that got pretty positive impressions here. I hope Deus Ex will be on the top 3, at least.

Uncharted 4 is pretty disappointing, Doom and Overwatch are GOTY contender though but I think Overwatch will take it.

It's not about your feelings on those games. It's the NeoGAF community's feelings and this community has very strong feelings on all 3. There is no question.

"Eidos Montreal reveals it has learned from its mistake with Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and will track all your decisions in its sequel, Mankind Divided."

Q: "Human Revolution had a couple of endings. Did you ever consider tracking player's choices in that game so the ending could transfer to Mankind Divided?"

A: "For the previous game, Human Revolution, we didn't have any technology to track your actions. When we started Mankind Divided, we felt we needed to take a bit of truth from all the four endings so players could feel that, 'okay, this kind of makes sense for me.' Plus we kept things a bit more mysterious to start Mankind Divided, saying that such a big event would probably suffer from a lot of misinformation from civilians and the news.
As for this new game, we don't know whether there will be another Deus Ex game or not. However, we are tracking your choices and the consequences in Mankind Divided. When you're done, we seal your save game file with everything that you've done and that's gonna give us the option in the future. If we’re lucky enough to work on a sequel, we can use that as a stepping stone for you to come in and continue where you left off. So we have changed our approach to tracking your progress."

I've been trying to race through HR for the first time on the hardest difficulty in preparation for this game, but...it's hard...I'm not good at it...turning down the difficulty feels bad...

Why are you rushing through HR? Let alone, on the hardest difficulty? Enjoy the game, it's not meant to be rushed through. There's no reason to have it beat before MD if it's your first time playing.

you guys are sleeping on FFXV... i think that's a good thing to be honest. keeping our expectations in check.
FFXV could make a run at Top 5 in the end-of-year GOTY polls even if it wound up complete garbage just based on its manic fandom.
Not that I feel that it'll be garbage... more likely it'll just wind up being mediocre with an awesome soundtrack.

The one game not being talked about as a GOTY sleeper, IMO... is South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

Yep. I'm sure my personal vote will go to this (I'm hoping, at least!), but no way it beats out Uncharted 4 or DS3. Overwatch won't win because too many people on GAF hate the loot boxes.

PC version preorder locked in and ready. This will be the first real test of my 1070.

Give me that Michael McCann soundtrack in my ears right now.

Holy shit. Hype.

I've been super catious with my hype for this game.

I think it's because Invisible War carved out a scar so deep in my gaming memory I'll never fully recover.

But these impressions are starting to soften my shell. Really hope this lives up to HR.

Don't be one of those guys. :(

Man, replaying DXHR, my playthrough has rapidly gone from pure stealth to RIP AND TEAR, RIP AND TEAR UNTIL IT IS DONE as I made my way through Hengsha.

What's wrong with me these days...

This is exactly what I wanted from the game. Fuuuuuuck.
