Didn't Bayo 1 sniff the 2 million marker? That's nothing to be ashamed off in this genre
Let's not. That's going to give the people screaming for Platinum to develop everything more leverage.
DmC is sniffing the 2 million mark as well and people treat it like a bomba of epic proportions.
Last I heard Bayo 1 did 1.35 million. That's OK in my book, nothing outlandish.
For me action game sales are divided as following:
Less than a million : Bomba
1 million to 2 million : OK
2 million to 3 million : Very good sales
3 million + : Amazing sales
Right now only a few games in the genre have even crossed the 3 million mark.

DmC needed to be released on 5 platforms to hit 2 million. Bayo1 was 2 platforms, one of which was an awful port.

DmC was Capcom's attempt to appeal to the western and casual crowd. DMC5 needs to appeal to the core action demographic, which has gathered some steam lately. It needs to be a return to form. Considering there are precious few stylish character action games currently on the PS4/XBone, it's a ripe market for a new game.

Real talk - I don't know if I'd be 100% okay with Platinum making DMC5.
Yes it does. 2 million sales on 2 systems sure looks better than 2 million sales on 5 systems. Especially when you have to factor in any additional costs that come from working on/optimizing for multiple platforms.
God of War also gets a much better marketing push than most other games in the genre, DMC included.

Bayo 1 is good in terms of sales in my book .... Lets not forget the publisher Sega , who are known for their amazing marketing skills /sarcasm.
Bayo 2 on PS3/360/PS4/XB1/PC would have EASILY topped DmC.
And I feel like you guys are overestimating GOW , for the amount of money they shove into that franchise. Its sales don't really speak all that great IMHO. (Wasn't GOW3 nearly double of UC2 budget?)

If Itsuno was the supervisor/producer/co-director for it I would be cool with that. I just prefer his take on Devil May Cry over Kamiya's.
Bayonetta x Devil May Cry would be amazing but that seems way too out there.

I actually don't know what I'd feel if Platinum made DMC5. I think I'd be disappointed that Itsuno was put on the bench. Maybe it could be a DMC x Bayonetta, because you know that a lot of people want to see that.
You are not wrong friend, I agree 100 percent. Get those QTEs out of my DMC.. Just look at Vergil in DMC4, I want more of that shit stat..

Crying Wolf is a boss in MGS4, and a basis for Bladewolfs design. It's a ridiculously loose connection to actually mean anything.

Yeah ViewtifulJC has put his account on his line for DMC5 at E3.
Most recent development is a PG tweet saying that their next game will make you cry and you will be seeing red. People are interpreting this as PG making DMC5....
Oh and some people think DMC5 is going to be PS4 exclusive...
