Good.

Back on the MGR2 hype train along with Capcom made DMC5.

MGR2 vs DMC5 the new NGB vs DMC3??

The hype is really palpable, all Capcom has to do is release a 15 second teaser or something. If they do nothing no one will care when TGS comes around (because TGS feels dead).

They're re-releasing DMC4 with new content. NO ONE saw that coming. They could easily re-establish the IP and keep they hype alive with a move like this.

I want to BELIEVE, I really do but I'll just stay reserved and only make the most logical and efficient move before me. I'll just wait and see what they do with no expectation going in.

Vergil would want it that way.

Well if we don't get DMC5, we might get MGR2.. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1059365

Or both and we finally have the best E3 of all time..

If both games are reveals at E3, I would seriously wonder what TGS could do to top that? I mean, HOW do you top that?

*At the end of an E3 DMC4SE video*

Vergil - "I need more power!"

Dante - "More power? I need more games!"

*DMC4 logo turns into DMC5 logo*

Just a small history lesson:

When DMC4 was first unveiled, there were absolutely no rumors or leaks prior to its announcement. It was a legit surprise at the Sony conference. DMC3SE had just released so it was even more unlikely that Capcom had something for DMC at E3.

There's more chance for DMC5 being at this year's E3 than it was for DMC4 when it got announced for the first time.

Of course IF they do announce DMC5 I hope to see a bit more than that. Nothing about that initial trailer ended up being true.... it wasn't a PS3 exclusive, Dante was re-designed and even the logo was different. So whatever is presented, hopefully it's more representative of the final product.

Never a better time to be a character action fan!
Best time to be an action fan was when DMC3, GoW and NGB were out. Back to back GOAT action games was just too much for us back then.

Here's gaf's thread on DMC4 being multiplatform: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147121

I wasn't around for it, but it seemed like good times. If DMC5 is Sony exclusive for whatever reason, I imagine the reaction today would be pretty different, to say the least.

I REALLY don't want DMC5 to be exclusive.

Not just because it limits its potential audience but because the game is going to get dragged into pointless console fanboy wars.

Scalebound vs DMC5

I guess Bayo 2 as well but it's on Wii U so no one cares.

Fair enough. I kinda missed out on GOW and DMC3 for their first few years since my PS2 was fried at the time. Must have been a hell of an era.

omg new Platinum game confirmed?
You will cry and red?
hope its not DMC 5 but MGR 2 instead,
or Bayonetta x DMC?
unlikely!
DMC 5 exclusive to PS? nah i dont want this unless it was neccessary.
This is getting insane.
I know Kamiya's working on Scalebound but didn't he say he'd like to work on a Mysterious Murasame Castle game?

Okay not sure how it goes with the seeing red and crying hints but maybe it's just Platinum being Platinum.

EDIT: Never mind.

Kamiya says a lot of things.

GoW and DMC3 were released within a month of each other. That was pretty nuts back in the day.

I remember David Jaffe talking shit about DMC3 Dante and how he was like a Ninja Turtle. And of course the legendary Itagaki shit talk. Good times indeed.

In which region is the release date the 18th?

I'm going to stick with the last-gen copy I bought at launch, but never played. I'll eventually get to it.

Scalebound vs DMC5

Well, it would be a good move on Sony's part since I would never choose a Platinum game over Itsuno's DMC5

I guess Bayo 2 as well but it's on Wii U so no one cares.

Whatever trailer they have in mind for DMC5, they should just play this track over it because it's going to be way more hype than whatever else they play in the background.

It needs to start exactly 2 seconds before the Capcom logo even shows up, people would go nuts.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Welp looks like it might be Nintendo related, RIP MGR2.
Didn't Platinum run to Nintendo to fund Bayonetta 2?

Isn't Konami essentially defunct?

Over in the thread for that, apparently Kamiya retweeted the June 16th Nintendo Direct.

I doubt that means anything. Kamiya's last game was published by Nintendo, it certainly wouldn't be out of character for him to RT a Nintendo Direct announcement. I could be wrong, though. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

hmm, more Nintendo X Platinum shenanigans. nobody was expecting this soon after Bayonetta and Wonderful 101, probably a handheld game or an established ip Platinumized,
With Bayonetta 2 DLC.

My three guesses for what Platinum's next game are

1) MGR2 on account of it being teased/denied already (who the fuck celebrates a 2 year anniversary like that?)

2) Metroid revival

3) Miyamoto is handing development of the new Star Fox to Platinum

I highly doubt we're going to see a sequel to W101

We also shouldn't assume that Platinum is only bringing one thing to E3. Just because Kamiya Tweets something Nintendo related doesn't mean we won't see multiple projects, potentially including DLC.

Has Platinum ever had three major projects going on simultaneously? They already have Scalebound going on, plus whatever this new one is. I don't remember them ever juggling three major projects at once - Korra was a small team budget game.

Since Scalebound is a collaborative effort with Microsoft Studios, we don't necessarily know how much is being handled internally at Platinum. They were working on Bayo 2 and Wonderful 101 at the same time. I'm sure there was another small project in there as well.

Yeah a lot of staff and work is outsourced as well. The project for Scalebound is definitely going to have quite a bit of an outsourced component.
