It's not casual! It's by design! The Lucifer pins exploded at the exact time and spot to make the last hit of Million Stab whiff and be in health range to be finished by a Backslide. The whole combo was leading up to.this moment!I will be eternally amused at the casual shotgun finish after all that nonsense in this gif. :lol
It doesn't really matter what the specific announcements are because E3 is going to be crowded, and it would be hard for something like DMC5 to make big waves when the pool is already pretty crowded with heavyweights.
In other news Itsuno and Shimomura did a video interview mostly talking about how it was working together for DMC3::

They said that the way DMC3 was handled resulted in a paradigm shift for Capcom where they started having specialists for each job which is why DMC3 was made so quickly.
And Yuji was all like "sometimes I thought I went too far with the action and Itsuno was like its ok".
I can already imagine it:
Yuji: "I have a story board for Dante sky diving off the side of a tower, stepping on Bloodgoyles, Two Some Timing them and Rainstorming them while falling then throwing Rebellion to catch them and shooting Rebellion's hilt to accelerate it and Dante running super fast down to grab it... you think that's too much?"
Itsuno: "Nah son that shit is TIGHT!"

was kinda throwing stuff out there. On reflection there's no way ES6 is happening this year. I could have suggested something more realistic like God of War 4 and Gears 4/5/Electric Boogaloo. DMC is bigger than Battletoads. That said it doesn't look like there will be DMC5 at this year's E3, no hints for it. Keep expectations at realistic levels folk (but hope for the best!).

Yeah, of course, it'll be crowded. But IF a DMC announcement were to occur, it'd have a number of things in its favor:
1) For hardcore fans of the franchise who bowed out during the "DmC" debacle and want to see a return to form, a Western announcement would do a lot to help restore faith in the brand and in Capcom as a whole. And no matter which side of the argument you were on when it came to "DMC v. DmC", whatever Capcom would showcase would be a talking piece that I'm sure mainstream media would at least make note of when it comes to discussing the newest game. Free advertising at its finest!
I really don't think a DMC5 announcement would get drowned that easily.
Internet has advanced a lot since DMC3 and if DMC5 is announced even behind closed doors news will spread like wildfire. DMC4SE was announced one random Monday morning and it still got crazy hype.
E3 is still the best place to unveil DMC5. It speaks to a core audience that doesn't care about the usual crap that EA/Ubisoft/Activision are peddling these days.
Doing an interview with Capcom about this release. If anyone has any questions that you think I should ask or are curious about post them here and I'll see if I can work them into the interview in someway.

After DmC's initial public reception and notoriety in the west and the recent cult following for Bayo 2 and MGR, DMC5 would gain crazy traction at E3. They can go the TGS route, but I don't think there are any risks associated with an E3 unveiling. It's a big deal.
Just curious who you would be interviewing, someone on the development side or Capcom USA? Just so we can tailor appropriate questions.
2) Why weren't Orb Requirement for mission rankings removed or altered? Almost no one likes scavenging dumpsters for red orbs during rank runs. It's extremely aggravating and is not a real combat skill.
My editor only told me to put together some questions for an interview on the topic of DMC4SE. Not sure who I'll be doing the interview with. Normally it has been on the development side, but it could be with Capcom USA. I'll try to get some clarification on it.

1. What do you think of all the Devil May Cry references in Bayonetta?(Enzo, Eva, Antonio Redgrave, Phantasmaraneae etc. etc.)
2. Who do we have to pester in order to make DMC X Bayonetta a reality?
DMC5 is not an E3 game like RE or SF, even if DMC4 was a Great success sales wise it belongs to a niche genre which became even more nicher last gen. Even DmC was announced For the first time at TGS,indeed Capcom is really pushing DMC in Japan this year. There will be a talk show featuring Itsuno,Kobayashi and Dante/Nero's JP VAs on DMC4SE on june 18th (JP release date), so their "concentration" is still towards SE For now.
Tell Itsuno we love him.
I do wonder how many character action ganes there will be at E3. GoW will probably be teased and Devil's Third will be there, but will we see DMC5? Metal Gear Rising 2? How will Scalebound play?
Exciting times.
there's only song Kappa
Such a good lineupI don't think we're gonna see DMC5 at E3. E3 is now a bigger deal than ever thanks in part to twitch. With all the craziness that is already at E3 (8 conferences, including Bethesda, SE and a PC gaming event-thing) and the crazy rumors of what might happen, a DMC5 announcement would get drowned out. We're looking at:
- Fallout 4
- Possible Elder Scrolls 6 announcement
- Doom 4
- Possible Final Fantasy 16 announcement
- Possible Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer
- The Last Guardian rereveal (rumored)
- Possible Battletoads announcement
- Possible Resi 7 announcement
Not to mention likely announcements of new first party titles from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, and other announcements from the major pubs. The big players seem to be aiming big for 2016, and many of those announcements are likely to drop at E3. DMC has mostly been a TGS first, and it's there that DMC5 would be able to stand out the most.

Elevate him to superstar status, then maybe Capcom will give him free rein to make whatever game (*cough* Dragon's Dogma 2 *cough*)
If they gave him free rein he would most likely make a fighting game.

1) Why weren't balance changes implemented for Dante/Nero like they were in DmC DE? Vergil's Starfall has no height restriction but Dante's still does for example.
2) Why weren't Orb Requirement for mission rankings removed or altered? Almost no one likes scavenging dumpsters for red orbs during rank runs. It's extremely aggravating and is not a real combat skill.
3) DmC DE allows for lock on to be toggleable... why wasn't that option provided for in DMC4SE??
Also, ask what changes have been made to the dice puzzle and if there was any concern with Dantes campaign in regards to the content recycling (backtracking, repeat bossfights)
Gregaman and Yuri answered the dice game question on the latest livestream. They made it so you could more easily target the number you want. That was as specific as they got.
So they just made it slower probably?Gregaman and Yuri answered the dice game question on the latest livestream. They made it so you could more easily target the number you want. That was as specific as they got.
isn't it just "wait until you see the number you want on the top of the die then hit it"
cuz thats pretty simple
Well from the sounds of in on stream (from what Gregaman said), it literally probably is slower. So you can choose to fight more enemies, or just pass through the game and fight nothing (except at the end where it's a boss rush).Yeah that's exactly how it was. Maybe you can lock onto specific sides of the die now and not have to wait?
- The Last Guardian rereveal (rumored)
This is coming out e3 week right?
the week after
But it says June 18th in the OP?
That is for the japanese version (consoles only, PC is also the next week in Japan). In the US it is the 23rd for everything I believe. Not sure about EU
Thanks for the info, I asked the gamestop store by where I live and they said they didnt have any info on it.
Please stop.
