So I just finished the Haunted Mansion.

That was messed up.

But it was awesome when the boss killed herself when I reflected her magic back at her.

Was reading the wiki on how Zoma works. Trying to wrap my head around the whole thing, but...

speechless.gif

The first time Victor gave me the speech about Zoma reverting to doll form during the new moon or whatever I felt so lost. And the second. And the third. And...

To equip the
Masakado equipment
you need to have put points in my magic :(

that's ok, it kind of sucks. when worn as a set it gives the hero +6 to all stats but it leaves you weak to some elements that you really, really do not want to be weak against in the post game

Things get a bit easier once you recover
Judah's COMP and can summon his demons.

it's also kind of a trap because they'll drain MAG like crazy.

I know, right? I think I'm just gonna mess around with it and see what happens. Sometimes the only way to truly grok a thing is by doing.

This game is sitting on my shelf tormenting me. I want to play it so bad, but I have to finish P4G first.

It just states me down every time I look.

I can't get a fusion accident, time to stop I guess. Will there be an app that will give 100% fusion accidents?

I believe equipping both Albert (buy from EL-115) and Copernicus (pet shop request for Megami Fortuna) gives you something like a 99% chance of accident and 0% of deletion. By itself Copernicus raises your chances of accident but I think it also radically increases your chances of deletion too? I don't... I don't have a terminal handy right now to check.

Edit:
Or maybe not. Albert seems to have no effect when equipped with Copernicus. Copernicus will raise your accident rate to 94% though.

crap! That one pet request I still haven't completed. Looks like I need to fuse a Fortuna.

Well, I beat the game. Last dungeon was surprisingly short and relatively easy. Final boss was easy until he became near death. Even with 4X Rakukaja my MC was left at bout 11HP after it used it's special move twice in a row.

Spoilers
So basically if Naomi kills Apsu, Manitou is strong against physical attack and weak against magic while it's the opposite if she kills Tiamat. At least Yu-Ichi drops you a hint at the beginning of the dungeon. Anyway the one I get was weak against magic and used physical attacks. His only dangerous moves was his Second Sun or whatever since it would hit hard and cause status ailments. Still, Nemissa 4X Makakaja Bufula would always cause 1000+ damage and freeze about one time out of 3 and she and my MC would act before him.

I reloaded my save and got the new post on summoner net about
the last floor of the sea ark
. So I guess the extra dungeon is there. Will start it tommorrow.

Man, I think I really took the "You sense a dark presence behind this door/BOSS ALERT IN THE NEXT ROOM" message before a boss for granted all of these years.

For like the third time now, I got completely blind-sided by a surprise boss.
Unlucky for Mayone, I was too lazy to put my demons back in the COMP after fighting Erika in the Haunted Mansion.

Always try to save often, folks.

Main reason why I use the Back Upper app, it's really useful in these kinds of situations.

First time I was unprepared, second time I prepared and got swamped anyway, third time I tried fusing something fast with Marakarn, gave up and managed to win anyway. It really is a terrible time for a boss.
Not getting insta-warped back to HQ after going to Six's would be nice...

I'm level 42 now and I'm about to enter (late dungeon spoilers I think?)
Algon Microelectronics
, how much more is left?

I didn't even notice the Sea Ark until yesterday... Is there anything special there? Or is it mainly for recruiting and fighting?

I got 3 chests (2 items, 1 rook) in the Strange Place area of the VR Museum. Are there any more?

Also, when will I have access to the Primate Lab?

Hmm I kinda screwed up and didn't realise higher level demons drain more magnetite. To be honest it kinda drained my enthusiasm for the game because it wasn't quite grabbing me and I don't want to grind up a reserve again.

You're almost there, keep at it!

The Sea Ark is just a place for grinding. There's no treasure or anything to find there.

Dammit Atlus. I actually filled in all the tiles in the chess area of the VR Museum, even with the portals...except one. It's on the top right corner and blocked around by portals so you can't get to it >_<

I swear, the Casino is hellbent on rolling a 7 on the Dice Game. I just can't, for the love of all that is good, get more than 1k coins, because I always lose them in just a few rolls. I don't know Poker so I can't touch those games. Fuck this shit! Im grinding Magnetite!

Auto Plant. I've unlocked all four floors but I don't know where I'm supposed to go. Please tell me that part with the collapsing floors where you have to keep moving is optional.

There's an elevator on the second floor that takes you up to the fourth. The boss'll be waiting in a room in the center of the floor.

Yes, the part with the collapsing floors is optional and there's nothing particularly interesting inside.

Tried, very unsuccessfully, to play the casino in order to obtain the overpowered sword. I'm leaving broken, dejected, and awesome sword less. I suppose I will continue onward.

My MC is at 51 and I'm supposed to be
saving the Spookies from the Amami Monolith
so I feel like I must be getting closer to the end. I'm kind of sad about that. But I'm not too upset because I know I'll just end up jumping right back into a new game +.

On that note what exactly does the new game + entail in this game? Like what kind of stuff carries over?

Still early in the game (exploring three warehouses at the moment), but an earlier comment in the thread alarmed me. The writer mentioned a choice in the early goings that decides whether your characters improve? He seemed upset that something so important wasn't explained. What is this question, and where can I expect it? Also, could you better explain what each decision entails? I just want to make an informed choice.

You already made it, when you told Hitomi if she's upbeat, calm or sexy, you were deciding between fire/death, ice/expel, or electric/almighty skills

Woo, finally picked up my copy and was able to play some between work and family stuff.

Game is awesome as it ever was. It's also still funny to see it as the moment Atlus realized that having two separate forms of currency was a silly idea, but that they didn't want to completely get rid of it for lore reasons and thus came up with an even sillier way to deal with it.

About to start the final Vision Quest.

I'm aware that the boss you kill affects the final boss. Should I kill Tiamat or Apsu?

The bosses in the post game dungeons are actually better than those in the real game. They're actually challenging.

I killed two so far.
King Frost and Mara. I died the first time at King Frost since i didn't know that when he guards it meant that he would use Last Resort T.T and that you must go all out on him quickly . His surprise box move was annoying since it would unsummon some of your demons. Sabbatoma was useful here. Mara's dialogue is hilarious. He challenges you to find who is the bigger man and when you beat him he says you had big balls LOL.

I'm leveling up quickly too. By killing two I went up 5 levels. I guess this is the only sane way to reach 80+ without crazy grinding. Can't wait to continue my game tonight :O

Ah okay, thanks a bunch. Decided to do the
Primate Intelligence Lab
first and it was pretty silly. I need more demons, so I guess I'll go to the Sea Ark sometime soon.

Yeah, it's pretty silly. I'm at 115k MAG right now and I have nothing spend Yen on, so it's just gonna keep going up.

The overworld theme and the Nemechi menu music are so so good. Wish they were included with the sampler soundtrack :|

Almost don't want this game to end, but I'm looking forward to the post - game dungeon.

I got some D-Souls from street pass today, and I'm playing the Japanese version. I guess that parts region free. Unfortunately I can't buy any new monsters. How do I get to buy better ones?

So I'm at the part where
the Juggler gives me the final chess piece and I fight him
. During this boss battle the enemies silence me. I can't find any dis-silence in the Rx store. So is my only hope is to use physical attacks during this battle or is there some dis-silence or something similar I can buy?

Bring spellcasting demons and take out his supports before he silences you. Juggler himself does pithy damage, so auto-ing him to death is simple.

I can't recall exactly, but there are two items that undo silence for the entire team that you can find in the rooms right before that particular boss fight.

Sweet, she casts Dia, so I guess I get those "almighty" skills as well...

Another question, I always try to talk to demons. Very frequently I manage to get them to leave the battle or give me something, but not join my party. I only have 4 of 6 party slots filled, I'm only a couple hours in, am I in trouble? Not only that, but if these demons are leaving the battle, I must not be earning XP, so that worries me as well.

You typically don't want to deploy four demons at once, as that will drain your MAG levels quick. Typically, one demon plus Zeed will be enough to get you by.

Was holding out on picking this up but I broke down today and bought the last copy at my local BB. Any tips for a newbie? Is the difficulty curve on this like Etrian Odyssey?

Just buried the Power Plant boss. My Tarukaja/Rakunda/go all in strategy worked wonders. Only lost Nemissa and a demon.

Uh, is Madam Ginko just a reference to Lisa Silverman, I assume? She does look kind of similar.

And I swear that's also Mitsuru's voice.

By the by, for whoever was wondering about the timeline:

Devil Summoner is 1995. Soul Hackers is three years after. So, most likely, 1998.

Yeah.
