DF: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 vs Xbox Series X/ Series S - A Huge Improvement Over Last-Gen Consoles

It also seems to have forced the devs to keep series x in performance mode at a lower res and worse performance, working from home i guess....if only they had access to the tools in the office......🤪

It runs as higher settings, with actual cars and people in the city. Even the Series S has higher settings and can run at a higher resolution than PS5.

Series S, let that sink in.

Wow!

Look at that resolution bump for Team Blue!
I thought the PS5 version was Omikron The Nomad Soul.

All serious though I expect that to change so its like the XSX version.

Yes I've watched them all.

In DMC5 RT modes Xbox wins.
In COD RT mode the PS5 tanks to 40fps in several playable set pieces.
In Watch Dogs the puddle reflections are missing on PS5.

So XSX wins every single one.

Damn, the delusion is real with you i see.

You keep saying about that cod bug that goes away once restarted, knowing full well your lying, its getting silly how you spread misinformation.

Ps5 actually runs it better in cod, sure I remember higher settings, but I don't live and die by these comparisons like you seem to do.

Ita OK, one day soon xbox will win a comparison fair and square, on that day I'm sure you will celebrate and rejoice. One day eh.

You're lying.

DF said that it doesn't always go away when restarted , it might, it might not. It hasn't been patched out so it's there, 40fps and it's only in the Ray Tracing mode. As this set piece is variable as it's playable it's probably hitting that small GPU hard. The PS5 only has a small advantage in the helicopter shooting scene in 120fps mode.......which has no Ray Tracing. So you are wrong.

Not huge difference from 1180 to 1080p with missing graphical details like crowd density and shadows.
~430k pixels. The game seems way too blurry for that though on both of them, looks sub 1080p.

And Series X can do 30fps in CoD due to a bug, so... Yay, I guess?

Lso funny to see how the magical SSD perform worse than XSX. Funny, how talks about SSD and Tempest died down....

Actually in this game you see the biggest difference in SSD speed, Xbox version has "zero FPS" freezes while driving, not present on PS5 - perhaps some form of loading.

Isn't it a different ToD?

Weird how DiRT 5 ran a bit better on Series X at a lower res and worse effects but that was a W for some, because performance matters... Now it doesn't. Some would rather have higher effects and lower res at the cost of performance all of a sudden.
(I would take higher res at 30fps personally, the game is blurry as fuck).
Furthermore PS5 has better performance while having 50% higher resolution with clearly better visuals (filtering, textures etc.) in 60 FPS mode in Dirt 5.

Hard to say, more like bug, because this pauses happened to me once in my crib....

I don't think they are serious. God I really hope so.

Na some are genuinely so far down the track of what they believed with the teraflops, they still believe a huge difference will magically show or that this is ot now

If it was me I'd hold my hands up and say fair play, I bought into it too much, it was well overplayed by xbox, but no such humility from some. Just waiting in the wings to pounce on occasions like this where comparisons with bc aren't like for like and break out the champagne. Its bizarre behaviour but I guess its good they are happy 😄 it's obvious some can't cope with the comparisons going the opposite way after believing for so long it was locked to be an xbox generation. Finally they can laugh at Sony for once, xbox is better and plays games better..... unfortunately reality slapped them in the face and some can't handle it.

If that was the case, then everything from the best PCs to the xbone would all have that problem.... Which they don't. Only The PS5 and PCs equipped with similar spec SSDs would be spared.

You can chuck that one on the CDPRs bug squashing list too

I purposely didnt respond right away because I wanted to see how idiotic you two were going to go on for.

Of course I was bein sarcastic in that first sentence. CDR will probably add a second mode for PS5 in a patch.

But good to see you two eat up console wars.

As I said, relax. Not the end of the world 2077 on Series X is looking good.

Just responding to what you put.

Of course when someone responds to a ridiculous statement to show how ridiculous it is its the people shutting it down that responding that are eating up console wars rather than the person starting it... because reasons.

Hard to know what some think at times on the xbox side, as some can't be serious yet seem deadly serious, when logic is often again them, go figure.

Yeah for sure that's a hardware problem. /s

Yeah it runs perfectly on ~500MB/s SATA SSD. Maybe memory leak? Skyrim was doing this on PS3 once out of memory.

Yeah Xbox ssd and io is slower but not that level slower where it goes to 0 fps lol.

Seeing as no next gen patch this game probably isn't isn't designed to leverage the full benefits of ssd and io tech and isn't using it beyond the raw ssd advantage you get with no effort. Similae to bc games there's an advantage but looking at spiderman for eg when properly used, the advantages then are huge.

Yeah, I think so, also with patch which came out yesterday/today it runs and looks better, also I got few crashes and when I run the game again it ran significantly better, so my bet is on poor memory management. Which probably make sense, since in Series X, there is less fast ram available than on X1X and if you don't take tht into consideration, it could be bad.... Wonder how..

Does anyone has this game on XSS?

You know its bad when green team is jumping in joy because XSX has a stable 30fps mode ! (A mode missing completely from PS5) all while have lower resolutions and fps in performance mode.

All that in a mere BC mode that is not indicative of anything...

Man it sucks to be on Xbox side these days 😭

Edit: whats even worse is some PS5 (PS4 pro) issues has been addressed already, so this thread is basically old info.

What issues have been addressed?

Yes I do, I posted some screen shots.

Even the "slow" 6gb of ram on XSX is quicker than X1X, plus no way this game uses anywhere near 10gb of Vram.

Bc mode running ps4 pro version.

Higher res though and perf.

Bc game for comparison is so dumb due to running different versions.....

Finally watched the video .
The moment richard bullshitbetter was in it
I knew it will be xbox wanking time.
Totally pegging that series s console in this case.

Where was he all that time when xbox performed worse?

So obvious. So petty. So richard.

I play this game propper when next gen patch is out in 4 months and price is 20 bucks on sale.

There is just something with this game that doesnt connect with me.

This thread is very confusing, why are people claiming some sort of PS5 win when its running lower graphical settings? i.e. there is no like for like comparison

While it may change with the next gen patch in 2021 it seems clear as day that right now if you have the option you should play XSX over PS5.

Lets not kid ourselves those that have both new consoles to choose from will probably have a high end gaming PC anyway and will be playing on that.

Its a bug not related to console power, xbox drops to 30 fps nx gamer caught it, but we dont laugh and claim cbox is an inferior version because of a bug, similarly on ps5 the bug there is annoying but when running correctly ps5 is actually better in cod.

As for your bolded ita clear tou are haunted by the little ps5 gpu thats so fast but its beating the bigger gpu, you seem bitter lol. Ita just better I guess we can take from that then.

The ps5 has better shadows etc in nx analysis. So nope your wrong, again.

My question is if the Series x ran the PS4 pro's settings will it also lock in 60. If that is the case.... the. We can't really compare the two unless they are running the same settings

The next gen patch will be mostly be about Ray Tracing and XSX will have a massive advantage as it's got a next gen amount of compute units. So let's wait and see, XSX has outperformed PS5 in every ray tracing comparison so far and this will be no different.

No it wil not.

Also I find you so funny, Ricky likes 120 FPS gaming in thread 1, now in thread 2 he likes 30 FPS gaming.

Whatever you say but dont expect anyone to take you seriously.

PS5 version doesn't lock to 60, nowhere near.

With this sort of framerate and no VRR support you'd be better off with the Quality mode on XSX at a lot higher resolution, detail settings, NPC counts and a locked 30fps.

The differences between the two versions are night and day.

Bought the disc version for PS5 for launch as at that moment my Series X had not been delivered yet. Seeing this comparison I double dipped and also bought the Xbox One version and running it in Series X Quality mode is just a massive difference to PS5. It's not just resolution and frame rate matter, Xbox seems to be using higher quality textures (very visible on the digital ad's and the tv program's but also on characters) and with the higher population density the entire world just seems more lived in. Also my eyes may fool me but the HDR settings actually seem to work.

I'll fully admit I have not played many games in 60fps yet and while I can notice the extra smoothness on the PS5 it's just such a worse version that there is no immersion for me. The Series X version however has a great image quality allowing me to immerse myself despite the 30fps.

Was worth it to switch versions as this is obviously not something they can patch quickly. The entire base of the PS4 port was just a horrible starting point for the PS5 running it in BC. Fortunately bought the disc version so I can resell.

So, just downloading a 16gb update for that game. Does anyone know what has changed?
I would wait for a proper review but it seems performance mode is a lot cleaner than before on SX, the difference between the two modes being mostly about shadow distance now.

Ive played in quality mode but I'm considering switching to performance.

Also there's a new epilepsy warning screen now:messenger_beaming:.

Resolution increase on Xbox with new patch.

Massive load time advantage on Xbox

Bit dubious about those load times though as that seems a bit ridiculous to me 🤷🏼‍♀️
