Someone finished the beta with a character and he found a 25 DPS Mace + poison.

He put it on the shared stash, created a barbarian and now oneshotting everything... 40-45 white damage and 125 damage crit with a skill.

I hope the weapons will have level requirement later because right now, it's very easy for the second character.

That's a major part of Diablo for most people. There will be communities dedicated to playing the game from scratch every time if that's your thing. When it comes out look for The Amazon Basin. After a couple playthroughs, Diablo becomes less about playing through the story and more about building the most powerful character you can. Spending 60 hours leveling up your character matters less and less to you when you've done in 20 times before.

So apparently there are different betas cause Day9 said he's in the beta with an NDA or at least he's not allowed to stream.

Newer build/early patch access? Otherwise I don't get that. Maybe he misread or something.

Wow, the tapestries on the wall and how they react to the heroes swinging their weapons near them. So beautiful.
i noticed some corpses moving when there was arrows being shot past it. also, i saw the demon hunter jump...

Yeah I don't believe that because Blizzard has said that anyone in the Beta will not have any NDA.
Maybe not an NDA but he's not allowed to stream for now.

I've spoken to Blizzard on the phone. I 100% can not stream for any nay sayers :P. I should be able to once the correct beta releases :]

And here's why, I found out:

Anyone in the public eye or any well known sites are not allowed to stream or upload Beta content, as the current F&F Beta is not meant for that.
Once the Closed Beta starts, press (day 9, myself, etc) and fan sites, can begin streaming / uploading content.

From ForceStrategy, via a Reddit comment. If he were to start streaming, it would be an unfair advantage in driving traffic to him over other press-types that don't have access yet.

Ah understandable I suppose

Surely you mean Diablo 2, with a capital D right?

Well, there was no shared stash in d2 so i suppose you were never meant to mule items from character to character without trusting a friend or gaming the system. Ie let a battle.net game run long enough to where you can rejoin.

Don't get his hopes up.

A Geforce 320m scores 4000/4500 in 3Dmark06

A X1600 scores 1800

Your card is like 2/3 times as fast as his. A X1600 is just too old.

guess it makes sense - at least an 8600GT is needed for low settings.

True, but that doesn't mean that a lot of people didn't do it. I certainly got the impression when playing that a lot of people twinked their new characters with set items, rares and uniques. So I don't see the issue with people doing it more easily in Diablo 3 by using the shared stash.

I still have nightmares about creating a game and then dropping lots of items from a mule and then not being able to get logged back in due to modem issues and losing it all. Most of the time I would hop into games with people in other acts questing and drop my items in an out of the way location like a corner of the bloodmore.

Thank you Blizz for the shared stash!

It is a lot of fun to start off a new character with some decent gear once you have a main built up.

Yes, I did that in D2 too... I was just afraid they weren't any requirement lv/stats to wear every weapon/armors in D3.

They have captured the atmosphere of Diablo well. The animation is top notch for the genre.

The environments are incredible - detail, diversity, lighting, effects. It's like the genre is going from flat 2D environments to meaty and detailed 3D environments. You are running between obstacles and trees now, not ontop of them.

The visual debate will probably die down now that people get to see the game. The later acts will be bananas.

Anyone ever got in a Blizzard beta with overclocked CPU ? I have mine overclocked but perhaps they avoid such hardware

Don't see why they would. Besides, I'm not even sure your OC shows up in that beta client pc profile.

Yeah it does, it says CPU speed 3.91 or something when it should say 3.0 for my CPU...
Well perhaps they don't want any errors that come with overclocking

Oh, maybe it's different from cpu to cpu because on my 2600k it just says the stock value which I think is 3.3 instead of it's current 4.5.

Seems like a positive to me. You're in a minority of people who overclock their stuff, so maybe that would make your beta participation that much more valuable to Blizzard.

Man, sucks that beta probably won't start in EU anytime soon. :(

What is this? What have you heard? TELL ME!

( are you referring to the fact that the beta is going to roll out in NA "first"? )

Well it didn't help me with any of the betas during last 2 years :)

Why every video has framerate problems? Its really concerning.
Can somebody with a beta make some performance tests?

Yeah, i guessed that we won't get beta as soon.
I searched and i was kinda right - on official forums people say that it's actually a random global roll, but all servers will be in US.

Capture software probably.

Because people streaming don't have proper setups, most likely. You need a decent quad core CPU, as well as a separate HDD to stream properly.

Because everyone has a shit video capture hardware/software. I found today one Space Marine stream at 60FPS, it's incredible how big of a difference that is.

you need another HDD to stream?

Tried googling and didn't find anything; I was just wondering if the beta at this stage or during closed testing will support co-op.

Ferrio said:
Oh wait stream... well Now I feel stupid. Maybe they record while streaming?
I suppose it depends on the streaming program, and whether or not it caches the recording to the HDD. You definitely need another HDD for recording, though.

Ah yes, the enemies generically spam you and you generically spam them back.

Honestly, I'm not impressed with watching the footage, but I know that I will love the game when I play it. Dat addiction yo.

Anyone else annoyed at how loot text doesn't show up till it's fully on the ground?
That is going to drive me nuts, it slows you down.

I am sure there was an in-game setting for how long it shows. I wonder if you tap the show loot button, if it shows in the air?

I'm sorry that d3 doesn't scratch that mid century chess jousting itch you have :(
