Yeah pretty much. Btw, yesterday had a wave of invites right?

Stupid question here since I already know the answer but when's the next wave? >_<
It seems to me they originally had the F/F beta and the press beta to get server issues figured out. Wasn't there invites just the other day too?

Seems like they are ramping up loading pretty fast with a day in-between invites to test stability.

Wouldn't be surprised to see more invites go out on Friday.

I made a female monk, finished the Beta quest line and got the 'you finished the Diablo 3 beta' message. The game is Glorious!
So I guess now I can just explore a bit and try out the other classes.

Got a beta invite email!
...From a non-Blizzard source that asked for a reply with my BNet username and password.
SEEMS LEGIT, GUYS!

I really see Blizzard cycling in a lot of beta testers. Given that the beta is so short, there's going to be a lot of stagnation among the current testers. They'll probably do a number of major waves over the beta period. I wouldn't be surprised if most people get in.

Ah I see, thanks, I really hope they do start sending out more invites :3.

Hey everyone, this is directed toward those fiending about invites and lamenting the fact they haven’t received one yet. This may sound trite, but the beta isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. This isn’t a complaint post by any means. I am really enjoying the classes so far and experiencing the content – I love it! It’s everything I liked about Diablo taken to the next level.

Here are some points:
-It’s extremely small; there are only 4 sub-sections, and each one can be completed quickly
-The max character level is 13, which takes about 5 hours of gameplay to reach
-After defeating the Skeleton King, your only option is to just replay the game or reroll another toon
-Crafting is useless after a certain point because you will end up crafting gear you can’t use, and it can get very expensive very fast
-The auction house is loaded with (gasp) overinflated prices for even simple gear
-It’s not confirmed, but right now it seems rare items only drop from the SK the first kill with a fresh character
-There are little or no bugs, so there isn’t much to report

It does give players the option to test a miniscule part of the game with all character classes and test out a handful of different abilities, but that’s really about it. It looks like most of the bugs have been ironed out already. Many players in the beta already seem bored of it and are now just doing Skeleton King speed runs for rare items to beef up their main.

Well I agree with a lot of your points, but the sheer amount of awesome I got to experience to even get to a point where I felt remotely bored was worth any amount of negative ten times over. I've just been taking longer breaks between sessions and making it a point to try different things every time I play. Still having a blast, but yeah I really wish there was more. :/

I can personally confirm that rare items do drop from things aside from the Skeleton King. I had one drop from a larger chest on Cathedral lvl 4. That is the only one though out of many, many, many, many full runs and partial runs.

I aggree too with most points there. Ive got rare drops only from SK. Gloves, shoes and something more.
There isnt much to do after finishing SK than to continue exping to open another active skill and the passive one.
I explored everything everywhere, destroyed everything everywhere, no barrel or vase withstood my attacks.
When the full game will roll out, I will just fly throught this beta part, I cant really wait for another acts and parts of this first act...maybe to check shelves for artisan pages...

I can confirm the no bug points, because Ive only bumped into one scroll jumping on another floor.

I love the game.

edit: when I think about it. I play in 1360x768 and when another one joined the game, his portrait wasnt full in lower left part of the screen. Just forehead with hair.

This makes sense 100%. In fact now that they've pushed the release back to 2012 (ugh) I kinda feel there's no point getting on the hype train this moment. We've already seen all there is to see for the beta, and either I get in and play it for myself, or I just wait for the game to come out.

Isn't this your only two options no matter what? lol I want in because I want to play it. I don't care if it's short, can only get to level 13, limited crafting, etc.

is it wrong that I wished I would have gotten into the TOR beta instead? D2 literally was my life when it came out, but I still get a big 'been here, done that' feeling so far. Nothing has made me gone 'wow' yet. I mean, don't get me wrong, most of the additions are great and warranted; however, nothing has pushed the envelope yet imo.

To me this is like rich people saying money can't buy you happiness. Give me the money and you try live without it :o

Pretty much Parity. The game is amazing so far. It's fun the first few times destroying everything and killing every single mob, but doing it for each character can be a bit boring. Grinding out the last couple levels takes a while also compared to the time it takes to get to level 9.

Crafting is keeping me going - I just want to see how high I can raise my blacksmith. He's up to making master items now!

It's like I said, I am having a really good time so far and am enjoying beta. I think many people just have unrealistic expectations as to what players are able to do in beta. I'm not ungrateful at all, but think about it this way: you max all your characters to 13, you get to a point where you've seen everything in the beta, you can't use any gear you're crafting...what do you do next?

Biggest thing I want from a Beta is getting to know the heroes and how they play out so I can choose which character I want to start with. I do not have unrealistic expectations. I don't need it to continue forever. It was never my plan to play only DIII Beta until the game gets out

I also want first hand experience with crafting, how it works and general layout. Add to that how it ACTUALLY runs on my machine, etc.

My brother met a chick online that is a dev at THQ that has a friend that works at Blizzard. He asked her about the FnF and she talked to her friend at Blizzard and just told my brother to make sure he doesn't have any filtering that would block emails from Blizzard setup...

Things may get interesting!

I get all excited about a new patch for the beta and it's just bugfixes.

Same here! I'm really hoping we get to see the new DH changes like Mr. Knives mentioned.

There was a bug when the AH first came out, that when you sold or bought an item it reset you Blacksmith. So to give you an idea of how much I have played, I've fully level the blacksmith twice now and probably have enough tomes and gold to do it again. Though I would hate to have to!

I've got some decent gear too, scanning the AH and doing alt runs on Skeleton King for rare drops. What I've been doing is exploring the synergy between all of the different abilities and finding which ones work best for the scenario. It's a bit of min/maxing, but I'm enjoying it. I'm also about to start making more videos to upload. Windows Movie Maker really sucks with lots of long files, so it looks like I'll have to edit them with After Effects.

So far I've only included game sounds, I'm not really sure I want to do any commentary.

I can definitely offer some insight into crafting (blacksmithing, no other crafting is available at this time) since I’ve been at it quite a bit! Along with all other random drops, you can find an item called Page of Training. If you find 5 of these you can combine it into a training journal, which you can give to your crafter. Couple that with gold and you can train your blacksmith to create different items. You are given a preview of the new items your blacksmith can craft before training, which is awesome. Your blacksmith has different skill levels and you have to train him multiple times before getting to the next level. As an example, you need 5 training journals to level up to master, so you need to collect 25 pages and spend over 15k gold to get him to that level from the previous level. I can’t remember all the levels off the top of my head (apprentice, novice, journeyman, master or something) but the items increase exponentially in cost as your blacksmith levels up. Some of the lower level rares cost almost 4k each to create, and the quality of the item determines what type of materials are required to craft the item.

It’s a bit of a grind to be sure, but the crafted items are better than any normal item of the same level in the game right now. Crafting right now is a double-edged sword. You could craft an item one time and get a bad ass 26.6 DPS axe, then try 10 times to craft another one and never get it. Usually I craft 5 of the same item depending on the cost, and just pick the best one.

So it is gambling with materials and gold cost. If you craft a rare or exceptional item and it doesn't turn out how you want can you then break it down with the cube and get the rare / exceptional crafting material back?

Hmm out of curiosity, if your account has been flagged there's no way to see it somehow on battle.net until you've actually gotten in , correct?

Reading all the comments from you Beta-invites is agonizing.
But still I can't live without it until I get in the Beta myself or the game comes out.

Accounts tab on Battle.net, it will show up. Then hours (hopefully) you will get an email from Blizzard to your associated Bnet account.

i get all my email on my phone. every time i see the red light blinking, and it hasnt vibrated (aka non-text/bbm/facebook) i have a mini heart attack because it might be the blizzard email

it never is.

Yeah, it's definitely a gamble! You get some of the materials back, but you don't get them all back. As an example, it takes two rare crafting material pieces to make one rare item, but when you break it down you only get one rare crafting material back. It's a pain in the ass for crafting rares because the rare crafting materials aren't easy to find.

The delay wait is killing me. I am missing out on a good few games while I am away, so waiting for the retail release for D3 will be pretty horrific. Need +10 to Endurance charm!

Don't forget to check junk mail boxes too on your email accounts. I've had beta invites end up there.

Don't you already have the beta Corky?

I've been told that I've been added to a list to get flagged, which can take a day or two.

Anyone feel like the tension of playing multiplayer games is nonexistent? No fastest clicker gets items and next to zero inventory management (lootris was awesome, and being able to pick up every item in a Leoric run is stupid) It just doesn't feel like the game has staying power to keep me interested. Could just be the part of the game in the beta, but I miss the expansive outdoor environments.

Limiting skill slots is forced depth and it's awkward and doesn't feel very Diablo like. Kinda like giving you max points in all skills in D2 as you level up however you can only use 2-6. Psychologically these are perceived differently to me, D2 being I choose a path, and in D3 I have all this cool stuff but my character can't pat their head and rub their tummy but magically at level 6 they can, then at 12 they can also balance on one foot and so on.

It's not super fast to switch them out as Blizzard has said. Particularly strange with the monk when you have a resource battery ability, resource depletion ability, and a buff ability of which you can't use because you need both of the other skills.

I talked with another player and they agreed for the most part on the skills and said it felt a lot better once you hit 4 skill slots plus the passive. Maybe they would consider changing the starting slots to something a lot less agonizing.

Yeah you're complaining about 1/3 or so of 1/4 of the acts in 1/4 of the difficulties.

Wow this is really great of you to do for people. I have sort of given up on getting a beta invite for TOR since I obviously didn't get the "lucky" gene in my family. Am hoping this turns around though!

This was an awful and archaic system that encouraged people to cheat, hack, be assholes, and discouraged actual teamwork. So yes I'm glad they did away with it.
