Definitely will roll a barb. But to be honest every class seems interesting.

This game can't come soon enough! (no hopes to play in the beta)

You fool! How could you doubt Blizzard... HOW?!?!

I think I was somehow tricked by the massive amount of LOL RAINBOWS IN DIABLO! haters and joined the bandwagon.

I am eating equally massive amount of crow now and it tastes sogood.gif

That's what the beta is for. (Sort of.)

And the really high end stuff will still take weeks/months to get. When duping is going to be under control, it will be awhile before there are "perfect" versions of the best weapons and armor out there. In comparison to the time it will take to level a character - it won't be that bad.

I certainly plan to play all 5 classes to 60 at some point, though probably a few much faster than others (really not a fan of the WD, and Monk is more "meh" to me compared to the other 3.)

That would be "softcore" by the way. I plan to work on a hardcore character or two as well after mastering the campaign. Don't want to run into something you haven't seen before and get fucked over. Still, except for achievements/pride/the challenge/some other unknown rewards, I don't think too many people will be playing hardcore if they're at all tempted by selling their loot/gold/characters on the RMAH.

I must get into the beta...

I don't know what kind of cooldown reduction is available (there's a passive that gives 20%), but I could see the Wizard's Diamond Skin (25s cooldown for a 5s shield that can absorb 2661 damage) with the Crimson Runestone (reflect 160% of damage back at the attacker) being really effective in PvP.

How can anyone fall behind really? Yea you hit your first 60lvl slower than the others but after that everyone is pretty much on the same level.
It's not like there is some arms race where the last one's account gets deleted.

I wonder if there will be a group of gaffers that will set a scheduled time out of the week/weekend to play? I'd love to join it. I can't afford much time these days and I hate logging in to see everyone so far ahead that I have to play alone.

I think it's a remnant wow mentality.

I vote for this.

It makes me wonder how quickly D3 will lose its charm for me though. I enjoy the looting, but that eventually gets old and I never cared much for PvP at all.

I will ask when the game is out and then send or receive messages here and add as much gaffers as I can so I can play whenever I want.
Be it in the morning with some US friends, in the evening with my EU brothers and sisters and so on.

D3 GAME GUIDE

WHAT IS NEW IN D3 <- just screencap this for the OT haha. OT's gonna be massive...

It partly depends on how long you kept up with D2 and what the attraction was for you.

For me, the long-term replay of D2 was always in the item trading, bartering and perfecting a build. It looks like this will also have that in spades.

What is going on in he....

Oh. I see.

Yep, to all the doubters: you can spend more time with Diablo 3's skill calculator alone than with the majority of the last few year's console/pc AAA releases.

I never doubted Diablo III would be great, just that it would look great. Not eating crow yet but I hope to!

I can't wait for the FMVs in D3...

edit: PRO TIP

I was just thinking...Think off and write down names for all characters and their genders so you can just roll a char with name you already know and play.
I remember spending SO MUCH TIME just staring on character screen thinking of name for my hero...

God damn this game is looking great. Please please let me in the Beta! I was in the SC2 beta so I hope that helps being a candidate :P

why...why are you tormenting me so. Have I not been an obedient consumer? Have I not wasted billions of dollars in wow? Wheres is MY parade?

edit : WAT, there are different ranks of the same runestone?

Seems so. High ranks doing more damage but longer Cooldowns. :D

Also, which crazy mortal is attempting the OT?

I'm starting to doubt my own cynicism, this game might ( MIGHT you motherf.. ) come out december afterall. V_arnold, forgive me. If it doesn't... lord have mercy

I have been thinking about doing the OT, but I do not know if someone else already planned to do it :(

The sorc build posted in the last page was kinda flawed ._. (Illusionist and two signature spells... WHRRYYY!)

Here is my attempt of my PVP Sorc (2v2 is pretty much all I'm going for in D3):

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#ZjVhiO!deV!abYZbb

My thoughts on Teleport and Diamond Skin:

I was planning on skipping Teleport since I put Diamond Skin in, but since I have Indigo for it, the diamond skill will pretty much be active for 25 seconds which is the exact same time as the cooldown so I'll be able to re-proc it. Of course, this won't work if I actually get hit a couple of times, that's where teleport comes it. It'll be my "oh shit-button" once my DS is on cooldown. Another reason I went with Diamond Skin and not Ice Armor is because I runed my Teleport with Golden which makes me able to teleport me back to my previous spot. I don't find the need to have passive enemy-gets-slowed-when-hitting-me because my main offensive spell already slows him down.

My thoughts on Offensive Spells and Ray of Frost

I'm extremely disappointed by the amount of satisfying offensive spells for the sorc in this one. Even with runes, I find them quite lackluster. As a PvPer, it really feels as if there's nothing that really fits me. Except for maybe Ray of Frost, which is the one offensive spell I did choose. I combine it with the Golden Rune which makes it pretty much a free spell to cast. Reason why? Because it WILL be my main spell in PvP. Combine the fact that I'll pretty much never get hit (teleport and diamond skin) and the fact that I'll constantly keep Ray of Frost-proc on my target, I've come to the conclussion that I'm not going to be the sorc that will damage my opponent. My 2v2 partner will do that, preferably a monk that can heal himself while attacking my target - or a baba that can constantly put pressure on my target by leaping back and forth between both targets.

My thoughts on Mirror Image
Trust me, normally I wouldn't want to touch this spell with a 10 feet pole. However the Crimson makes the Mirror Images actually do 70% of my own spell-damage. This is amazing because my Sorc won't do that much damage to start with. Also this encourages my opponent to actually attack my mirrors, which gives me the time to start buffing up with Diamond Skin and recharge my Teleport-cooldown. Also I'll be constantly using Ray of Frost (free spell when runed) as my target(s) will be going for the mirrors, slowing them down drastically as my 2v2 partner keeps the pain on. And I'm not concerned about my mirrors having only 25% health. I'll be a heavy vitality-based sorc so my mirrors will still have a bunch of health and they'll act as meatshields as I recharge everything up again.

My thoughts on Familiar
The Archon is overrated, I can already tell that every sorc will be using that. The Familiar fits my style in 2v2 perfectly since it'll always be active (the Familiar is an untargetable little bugger). I was considering the Alabaster rune but I ended up going for Crimson because I know I'll be almost invincible with the spells I've gone with. The Crimson allows me to boost that extra damage that I truly need with this build. It would be ever greater if this increased the damage of my 2v2-partners attacks too! Although that would be a bit imbalanced, I feel :p

My thoughts on the Passive skills
The Illusionist is brilliant in all way, shape and form. It fits my spec flawlessly! I didn't even have to think twice when choosing this one.

Blur, 20% reduced melee damage taken. Obvious passive is obvious.

I didn't find a fitting 3rd passive skill (Evocation seemed nice but my build barely has any skills with cooldowns... especially with the Illusionist. Anyone got any ideas?

Why didn't I go with Galvanizing Ward
It would seem as if this would fit my build perfectly... however, Diamond Skin is the only armor skin that does not benefit from this passive skill :(

I did a bit of preliminary planning about a couple of months ago now, so I have some ideas, but there is simply a LOT of stuff to cover. So if people want to collaborate that's fine.

If we do get it in December, I'd probably be able to prep most of the stuff during Thanksgiving break and make updates as needed after that.

Still, it's a lot to think about if you want to do it right.

say whaaat, only 3 passive skills out of 30 available? Thats like... thats like pickin 3 of my 30 kids and decide who gets to live...

Ray of frost looks amazing, but i absolutely have to have the rune that increases its damage. I mean jesus, it raises the dps substantially man.

If you do make sure you get all this crow eating gloating out of your system before it taints the OT for an awesome game

I'm digging Monk and Barb skill synergy.

Witch Doctor seems pretty straight forward, his mana takeback from runes seems ridiculous.

DH and Wizard seem a bit odd to me.

I think Witch Doctor is waaaaay better than it looks :)

Here is my take: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#ZcTgXf!YdW!baZbaZ

Basically, you summon dogs, you explode them forcefully, which nets you
1) Health globes
2) +40% damage done per sacrificed dogs

The health globes gives you even more +attack and +mana (passive skills).

I love the idea of summoning the dogs only to sac them, and nuke with full force after all this with Firebomb and a modified Zombie Charger. Everything deals more damage thanks to the third passive (+mana cost, +damage for everything) - a mana healing soul harvest and a mana returning haunt will give enough mana back hopefully.

Damn, I was not interested in Witch Doctor, but this seems awesome :D

Do it man, you have my blessing. Besides, it looks like the official website is all we could ever need.

Haha, yeah, thank you Pete :D
We could just have one line in the OT and that is the link to D3s website.

But, what if we all just went on some collaborate paint site and paste something together.
We can lock the room and have fun, while sobbing that we won't get to beta.

Btw if someone doesn't have better software to edit or create images then look here http://pixlr.com/editor/.
I use it at work in the browser and it is better than gimp for me.

hnnnghh I'm starting to feel like a kid again, haven't looked forward to a game like I do now in ages.

http://grooveshark.com/#/artist/Matt+Uelmen/15933 These will play at my funeral, which incidentally will be a diablo 4 LAN party.

How is the music in the beta? Tell me.

No Matt in DIII, and it's not as good.

Moody and atmospheric though. But it's just backgroundy. And it doesn't manage to achieve what Matt's music does, in that it's both ambient and moody, but retains the variety and catchy tunes common to real music.

I guess you can't have it all :(

D1 music is where it is all at.

I dont think d2 music was anything special, so I'm ready to try something new in d3 (give me the game already). D2 overall was one of the best games ever, but it lost a lot of the atmosphere from the first game.

Yeah, I can see that. I thought Diablo 2 had a great vibe, but yes, Diablo 1 was even better.

Well, I think it's just the first act stuff I've managed to hear. And if it doesn't work out you can always turn down the music and just play the D1&2 soundtrack.

haha nah I'm not that anal, I just hope that we get some cool guitar music aswell.

Also is it true that the closed beta is the entire game?

Been spending way too much time on the website today, shit :)

Already stressing about wizard being too hard to play in hardcore mode and stuff like that :lol
