Hardcore characters are a breed apart. With the challenges and rigors of that play style in mind, it's important to note that Hardcore characters on a Diablo III account will share exclusive access to a shared stash (as well as an auction house and gold pool) that's completely separate from the one used by Normal characters. Players will still be able trade items between their Hardcore characters, but they won't be able to give Normal characters access to anything that's only available on Hardcore Mode, or vice versa.
Hold on a second, what does this mean? What kind of stuff will only be available in HC? Are they really saying that HC players can't give or sell their loot to normal players?

Just took a screenshot from diablo 2, I don't have an inventory full of stuff yet since I just installed the game 1 hour ago, only gear I have is from some friends.

But just look at how much space the items in diablo 2 take up compared to diablo 3.

screenshot - diablo 2 inventory

Unless the only things your put on your mules in diablo 2 were rings, amulets, charms and belts. Then it's clear that the reason you needed all those mules in diablo 2, were that items took up a lot of space. Something they do not do in diablo 3, in the same way.
I was comparing to my playthrough on US East

Exactly, both leagues are completely separated.

Hey guys,

Got a question.

How will a computer with these system specs run Diablo. I hope High settings or close to it.

AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5730 1024MB

Intel Core i7 740QM 1730 MHz

4 gig RAM

Thanks.

You're going to be fine up to 1920x1200

ffs no, I don't care about groupon, facebook or DLF emails. Every email that isn't from blizzard telling me I have beta access is trash, and will be treated as such.

I willing to pay via money wire or verified Paypal to try out their Diablo 3 beta even if it be for a few hours.

PM me if interested. I am dying to try this.

it would want to be enough money to console someone if their battle.net account got banned.

That Matt Uelmen Grooveshark channel is great. makes me want to play D2 again (which is essentially a certainty if I don't get into the beta)
His compositions have a certain macabre feel that seems to be lacking in the d3 music, and is more memorable, but time will tell. My rose tinted glasses are fucken gigantic.

Why would anyone's battle.net account be banned? All I would do is login and play for a few hours, then the owner just changes the password back.

Do you think Blizzard is omnipresent and omniscient? Sheesh.

You could take all their CD-Keys, you know.

Don't think for a second that Blizzard isn't watching logins from different IPs within certain time frames that are drastically far away from each other. Especially in a beta where the amount of people in it is quite limited. Blizzard runs monitoring software in their betas and even now in WoW, they're always watching.

They would probably notice if an account's IP logins were drastically apart geographically speaking. At least I think they would. Who the hell really knows.

That doesn't work like that... the beta is on a separate server who copy the username and password of your account on battle.net 2.0. If you change the password on battle.net 2.0 the beta will still have the old password.

Edit : Authenticator doesn't even work on the beta.

The point is that it's within Blizzard's interests, and terms of use etc for them to monitor such things. Whether they do or not is irrelevant. Most people wouldn't risk it simply because it's plausible they would react in such a way.

Totally agree, and I wouldn't bet my battle.net account on it! Especially since I own every Blizzard game and have beta access!

Stealth brag!

So you've seen the cinematics in diablo 3?

Also, the diablo 2 cinematics look pretty damn dated.

If going by the character reveals is the quality we should expect, I'm pretty disappointed.

And the DII cinematics were incredible for their time. It's not just about the quality either, but more about the atmosphere and the mood they display.

I won't lie---the DII cinematics still blow me away. Maybe it's part nostalgia, but they're always amazing. Every single time I watch. Especially the end of Act II.

The character reveals weren't cg cinematics they were engine cutscenes i think, the reveal cinematic is what you should be looking at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc54_bK604s

They aren't what we should expect. We should expect high-CG cinematics from the Blizzard Cinematics team, there's no reason to expect any less.

Character reveals are different. To argue for their merits, they are in game style to offer a sense of continuity between the reveal of the character and actually playing the character.

It's weird, like the Starcraft 2 cinematics are good and all, but nothing Blizzard has done lately really approaches Warcraft 3 (and to a lesser extent Diablo 2) in cinematics.

Did you play SC2? IIRC We got the announcement cinematic slightly modified + the ending cinematic and that's it as far as CG goes. I'm expecting it to be about the same with in-game graphics being used for the between-act cutscenes for Diablo 3, and I would be fine with that.

I think CG is really a product of the times, it isn't as important now that in-game graphics are higher quality, due to how expensive and time consuming it is.

SamuraiX- said:
Oh yeah, I forgot about that one.

I'm really hoping all the final cinematics in the game are that good.
You're doubting Blizzard when it comes to cinematics? O_o

They're practically the Pixar of gaming.

The Wrath of the Lich King cinematic is fucking phenomenal.

This for some reason made me download the original Diablo Shareware demo (many fond memories of this before I played the full game). Amazingly, it still works, I am even logged into battle.net with right now. I am literally the only person playing it though right now. (chat room is empty beside me and no games exist) :lol Amazing Blizzard keeps servers up for something no one plays.

I logged in the Quake 4 demo in like 2009 and one server had like 5 players.

Really weird how that happens.

What are you talking about? Did you miss the cinematic of Zeratul vs. Kerrigan or the other cinematic with Ghost Kerrigan? Both were CG and not in-engine.

I agree, I actually thought about mentioning that one.

I did forget them. The human Kerrigan one was recycled story and the Zeratul one was shown early without much modification, so I guess they weren't really significant to me (though I think D3 will be a much better game story wise than SC2 was).

It will be awesome if we get Opening --> Act I --> II --> III --> IV --> End cinematics but I'm just not 100% confident that they will put that many resources into CG. Though they have a fuckton of money, so they will probably prove me wrong, I hope!

Ok, the GF is out on work. I've got the apartment to myself for the better part of 4 days, excluding, yknow, going to work and shit.

There's beta keys out?

no, no. You'd know if they were, this thread would have assploded. But any day now, really. Many sources who themselves have 'reliable' sources claim it's on track to start on like the 16th.
My hopes are up, even though I know that to be pure folly.
