>KKRT00... yes? :lol I'm not doubting your knowledge here, but "completing" my list with some additional units is just embarrassing and doesn't prove your point - at all. D2 normal was slow as living fuck and it'll be the exact same case with normal difficulty in D3. Haters are gonna hate and hopefully stop playing before they even finish the game and realize that the real Diablo 3 starts with Nightmare (not really, it starts in Hell to be honest, but yeah). This will, again, be the identical case with Diablo 3.

edit: also,
We're talking speed here, and Goatmen in normal difficulty was not fast.
I'll prove a point when i start hardcore char and play through the normal without dying in first try :)

And with my units and Your combined it gives like 30% of all units from the act, so how is not proving point at all?
From what i heard in D3 beta, there is only one hard npc, that casts hydras.

Ps. I dont have anything against making act1 easy, but they shouldnt make whole normal a casual experience.

God, it's pessimistic people like you that I have to deal with when the game's finally released. Because neither one of us can prove a point because the fucking game isn't even out yet. The only facts we've got is that no matter how much you turn and twist the subject, the majority of enemies in Diablo 2 normal difficulty were slow. THE MAJORITY. THIS IS A FACT, STOP TRYING TO PROVE ANY OTHER POINT BECAUSE IT'S FALSE.

Now what we DO NOT know is whether Diablo 3 will consist of MORE aggressive units in Nightmare/Hell/Inferno than Diablo 2. This is something we CAN NOT discuss, so let's stop right here.

And this infuriates me even further, it's as if you're not even reading what we've been telling you. Not only did I tell you that normal IS 99.9% going to be pretty fucking easy (just like in Diablo 2), but Blizzard also said that. They said specifically they they want the normal difficulty to be there so that everyone can actually enjoy the game and if you're hardcore you'll pass through those parts so fast it won't even matter anyway. Did you even watch the damn panel, like seriously?
KKRT00 said:

Why? The whole normal difficulty in Diablo 2 was a casual experience and if you don't agree with this, you're either 1: just completely forgotten how easy it is 2: got fooled by nostalgia of when you first played the game as a kid or w/e. The Butcher in Diablo 1 scared the living shit out of me as a kid and it took me like a year or something to beat him. Now though? He could might as well be a trash enemy.

Then you should not extrapolate from a Beta normal Act1 chunk. Pointless.

Also, there was basically 3 danger in the WHOLE Normal D2/D2exp.
1) Self-exploding mobs if you had less than full health
2) Running into a group of archers/casters if you had low res/low hp/low def and did not micro
3) Running into a group of mobs who were freezing/doing some other nasty stuff

Other than this, ofc the bossfights were not easy with certain builds. That is about it.
I am pretty sure Diablo 3 will have more varied mob lineup than D2's. Which was not bad either, but can be improved upon.

Yep, thats why i was doing HC run 2 months ago ... and played with GAF some times ago.

If You really think D2 normal is casual make HC run please.

But they said that in the panel yesterday.

So you pretty much admit that you played D2 recently and got your ass handed to you on normal? Holy shit, that's embarrassing, haha thanks for the heads up - I know who I'll never play with in future Diablo-games.

Haha, I have a feeling this fine man doesn't know who he's dealing with here? What say you GAF? Should I bother re-installing the game so that I can show my fellow man here my 92 HC Ladder shock zeal in hell difficulty? Or perhaps my 92 HC Ladder hammer in hell?

edit: or if they've made some kind of search function where you can search for players (how would that even work?), please search for Zhou_Tai and Yoshiyoshi if you want your panties to drop. I feel that this is the only thing that seems to please you.

I've been doing a non-HC D2 run recently. The only time I got close to dying was Duriel.

And this proves what? Because its not proving that its easy, but its proving that its perfectly doable [and should be].
I dont challenge You that You wont do it, i challenge You to do it again.

Found a nice Monk build: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#eUXdkR!Xdg!abcccZ

Exploding Palm(Strong Spirit) as a nice Spirit regenarator.

Crippling Wave, Breath of Haven and Mantra of Conviction for a damage boost.

Exalted Soul and Beacon of Ytar have a good synergy as well.

And if I want to get more defensive I can switch up the passives to include One With Everything and Sixth Sense.

Sigh, I want this game and play around with builds :( Most interested in Monk and the Witch Doctor atm.

This was in March 2011.

I'm ignoring this fool.

Last time, I got a ban for just saying that I'm ignoring a person, but I truly do feel that I have to say this out loud because it'll make me feel better. He's embarrassing me in a way I never thought was possible on GAF, because I don't think I've ever seen such ignorance (literally ignoring 90% of the facts and trading them with pure nonsense and speculations) in my entire life.

So, Diablo 3 is in my game accounts on Battle.net, but it says "coming soon." Does that mean I'm flagged for eventual beta, or is it just a cock tease?

Cock tease. They want people to get an annual pass for WoW.

How cruel...I've been flagged for access, log into my Battle.net account to see Diablo III but only to find that it's an advertisement for the WoW Season Pass thing, not the ability to download the beta. The wait continues.

At the open Q&A panel today, Jay Wilson said that more beta keys will go out soon... but they're waiting for a big beta patch before they send out more. So for those of us that are supposedly flagged and waiting to have the switch turned on, this might be what we're waiting on.

In the panel they said they removed on the fly skill swapping. I'm not a fan of this. I'd prefer having one hotkey for an alternative build for a specific situation, e.g. a boss encounter or against a difficult rare/champion mob. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to the upcoming patch and hoping they either add content or raise the level cap a bit.

They never really wanted you to switch builds for specific fights, I don't think. They just want you to be able to try new skills without it being permanent.

I'll post it here I guess. Anyone else sort of disappointed that they didn't really announce anything new for Diablo at Blizzcon?

I guess it means they're close, and I can't see the game releasing later than March, but still. Kind of underwhelming.

Man I want this game so badly :(

Where is my code damn it!! I even did the sweepstakes on facebook lol with 3 different accounts (which I made purely for the sweepstakes).

Can't wait, so excited. I remember first getting D2 when you had to actually play through the Acts to progress. Never took very long in normal or nightmare, but hell was always pretty challenging. Well until you actually geared up :D. Such a classic game, might re-install it lol. Shame you lose your characters after time without play :(

No real news about D3 I at Blizzcon I assume.

I'm trying to buy a new laptop for D3, though I want to buy one during Black Friday (big sale in the US after Thanksgiving).

For those playing the beta, if you are playing on a laptop can you please list your specs and settings. I just want to get a general idea.

Thanks.

I've tried the beta on my laptop aswell :

i5 460m 2.53 ghz
5650 1gb
4gb

With all settings maxed @ 1366x768, the game is definitely playable with fps anywhere in between 30-60 ( capped at 60 ). The main problem I have is that the game gives me crazy freezes / micro stutters when new things load in and when I walk around open areas. I'm chalking this up beta or wonky drivers.

What does this mean? Is this what you guys have when you get into the beta? Even though it doesn't say "beta"? I'm confused. I still can't download the client, so I assume it means something else.

lol.. just got one of these as well!

Exact same email. So fake it isn't even funny.. and I'm already in Beta D:

So, fellow flagged folk, any hope for this week do we think?

They said something about the next "wave" coming after they update the client, but then one of us got in totally at random seemingly on his own last week (and not with the FB wave unless he just didn't check for 2 days)...

Well, hopefully they do some invites before the update, otherwise it could potentialy be a while :(

Blergh... catalyst info for the cynic in me.

Pushed back because of the monetary system? Great.

The more info I get about this game, the more I am looking forward to it.
I would love to get is ASAP, but then I think about the fact I should first finish Dark Souls and hopefully Skyward Sword. But the panel video already convinced me of the melee sorcerer. That looked awesome!

Got a chance to play D3 at blizzcon, and I've gotta say the PvP was _awesome_. I don't know how it was at last year's with the 3v3, but 4v4 TDM was really fun times. I still think that on the live servers I"ll get completely owned due to likely being chronically undergeared, but it was still a complete blast to play.

Also holy crap barb 4 lyfe

I like the November date better.... But I'll take Jan 17th but I'm not holding my breath anymore until Blizz speaks out. I am kinda shocked they still could not give us a date at Blizzcon.

Same here, part of me was hoping they'd pull a Microsoft and right at the end say 'by the way, Diablo 3 is out right now' just to watch the ensuing nerd stampede.

I imagine Jan is the goal but they didn't announce a date as they can't be sure yet, which if it really is the money auction house that's holding it up would be out of their hands.

What did you guys think of the new areas shown in the lore panel?

I like the inferno quotes from staff

And the area on monk skill revamp

Whelp, start of another week! Let's see if they let us in. I will be travelling for work for 10 days and it would great to have the beta on my machine while I am held up in a hotel room for 10 nights!

My replacement laptop hard drive arrived today, so once I get Windows reinstalled I'm good to go! Pick me, Blizzard, pick me! *waves arms in air furiously*
