Is there a lot more loot than the official website shows? I can't imagine the point of an auction house if that's all the loot in the game.

Anyone have any ideas why my mouse/pointer would be stuck in the menu? The mouse seems to be moving in the background but it's hard to tell where it is, but the grey pointer isn't moving at all.

I just switched to that european servers stuff as bashiok was suggesting. Question though: does that mean my character in the other server is still alive and well ? I am confused about the repercussions of that switch ?

Yes, your US char will be waiting for you.... if and when servers ever go up.

You know what's funny, Blizzard probably totally saw this disaster coming but went ahead with the online only thing anyway. They're a smart company, if we saw it coming miles away, they knew it more.

Hmph, launch woes mean nothing compared to a dupe free, hacking free game.

Bash says the music levels being much lower than they should, sounds like an audio bug. Recommended I change number of audio channels, so hopefully that works. Changing from High (128) to default of Low (32) and all volume sliders at default. Wont be able to test until 1:45 of course :P

If the economy doesn't get destroyed by dupes and D3 get's pirated less because of always online, I'm fine with being inconvenienced for a day or three. Based on the 7 hours I put in today, I'll be playing this game for a long time.

Gameplay related question here....so since they removed skill points do skills not ever level? Or does leveling mean you wait for the next rune to unlock? If so, it seems like the runes unlocked at a later date would be better so your essentially playing the same character everyone else is playing and are exactly as powerful as any other same class character at the same level. Am I not understanding this correctly?

Your skills do not level. You unlock new runes all the way up to level 60, up to 6 per skill.

As a spoiler on late game item modifications,
some items can buff up the effects of individual abilities, much like the effects of +skill items in Diablo 2.

Ughh this download installer is taking forever isn't there anyway to make it go faster. Said 305K now it says 703K but I don't think its going that fast at all.

With the installer up, if it looks like it froze in place, check connection info. If its not actually making progress, Ctrl+alt+del, and end the Agent.exe process. Installer should reset itself and show accurate info.

So guys, which class should I make for my solo character when the servers go up? I'm already playing wizard and demon hunter co-op.

I couldn't shake the feeling that I was wasting time playing on the Euro server, since I'll never play there unless the American servers are down.

I think I'm gonna go mess around in Torchlight II until the American servers come back up.

Skills don't need to level up any more. They all scale with your weapon damage and stats.

As someone who hasn't played Diablo before, I am starting to understand the addictive part of it. It's like 10 minutes is what it takes to feel like you've accomplished something.

the worst (best?) part about diablo is how you can play, then stop playing and realize you spent 5 hours without noticing a minute go by.

Most likely late but:
A gamer somewhere out there with a lot of time on their hands and probably a keg full of Mountain Dew finished the highly anticipated Diablo III in just over 12 hours. The results were posted on the NeoGAF forum, showing the screenshot above of the Level 32 Barbarian by a gamer named "Yoshichan." The achievement took 12 hours and 29 minutes to reach after the servers for the game went live in the United Kingdom. Yoshichan beat the game in normal mode, the easiest of the game's four levels: Normal, Nightmare, Hell and Inferno. He also isn't planning to stop there, announcing on the forum, "Wish me all good luck in nightmare! Going for it asap."

GZ Yoshi on internet fame!

I would go Monk. As I move further into the game, Im starting to realize how awesome it would be to be a monk. Man, and there doesnt seem to be that many of them either. Their group friendly skills are just a bloody godsend. I literally smile when I get into a game with one. They are amazing.

I am still new to Diablo so I want to make an effective late game build to keep in mind for later. How does this look?

tbh, I threw out all of my level 60 builds as soon as I started playing. It's just too difficult to figure out what you need before you get each skill and each rune in your hands.

Sorry if that's not constructive...I guess I'm just trying to say I wouldn't worry about it too much beyond a means to pass the time. Nobody outside Blizzard has enough experience with a max-level monk to give you any feedback beyond broad guesswork and speculation.

Monk is fun. Mine is 10 at the moment but I'm digging the variety of skills and abilities it has.

3003 is the new 37.

Jumped on the EU servers with a bud and cleared the first chapter with a Witch Doctor. Not a fan through the first 10 levels. My friend was playing monk, and that looked really fun.

Is the consensus then that Wizard is the awesome combo right now of least fun, least powerful and least beneficial to the group? lol

Man, I have a knack for picking the bitch class in every game I roll. Monk in FFXI, Paladin in Vanilla WoW, and now Wizard here.

Can someone explain the plague bats ruin for WD? What does it mean when it says 'damage will start off slow but increase over time to 275%...'

My guess is that the longer you hold that attack, the more damage it will do.

I was juggling between going Monk or Witch Doctor.

Ended up going WD for my first char, but I'm definitely going Monk next time around, especially since as a melee combo guy he makes for a great contrast with WD.

WD is fun so far but I'm still too early to make any real judgement. Seems like he'll be pretty awesome.

Just came back home, totally didn't expect it to be down still. Yikes.

I feel tortured. If the game wasn't so amazing, I would have moved on by now. :(
