I don't know about you but there is just something gratifying about crafting items. And who is not too say how high you can go and craft some cool items that might sell for a lot more on the auction house - it might end up being worth the investment.

Maybe just for Legendaries/Sets, though, unless you craft something especially good or you snag a sucker. :p Rares really are selling for quite cheap right now in general, and that looks to be the case for all levels outside of Inferno.

Yeah... don't buy stuff on the AH. At level 19 I decided to check it out and ended up replacing every item I had for like 10k gold. My Barbarian now has something like 3x the HP, 4x the Strength, 2x the armor rating, +15% attack speed, and a bunch of other modifiers. I'm pretty much invincible now and any loot I find in game is completely worthless to me.

Definitely going to avoid using the AH going forward. Kills a big part of the fun of the game.

You could always try selling that stuff back for a bit more bread than you bought it for ;)

Hey guys - noob question as I'm new to diablo series. Loving the game so far. Curious about the armor. Is there a finite amount of different looking armor pieces ? If so how many are there If anyone knows?

Wouldn't an infinite number of different looking armor pieces be impossible?

Playing monk on normal is pretty fun, but I feel that every new skill I get is inferior to Fists of Thunder/Thunderclap and the Kick spin move (forgot what it was called). I have really good mobility with this rune and with the Kick I can AoE nicely and refilling HP at the same time with my passive skill.

)

Rares sell cheap, but you really gotta look at the stats and not the damn color. Like... does anyone really give a damn about the +health on globe pick up?

I played a witch doctor and he praised me pretty highly. I only used him for my first run through the game, so I have no idea how the Sorceress and/or the Scoundrel banter is.

The scoundrel is hilarious. He pretty much tries to steal everything, and if you're playing a female character he'll hit you on endlessly.

I feel the same way but I am only at lvl 14.

Congrats to Tambini, I'm still giving a bunch of ~lvl 20 str gear and a fist weapon. All rares and with at least somewhat useful stats.

That can actually be worth something once you go pass 10k health. Depends really what kind of damage mitigation/self heal setup you're running.

Crippling wave become vital in ACT II when the enemies start hitting way harder.

So is there a consensus on preferred weapon for Monk? Daibo or dualwielding?

I haven't bothered to sit down and do math on DPS, but with a 2h I feel spirit starved for the way I'm playing. That being said all your abilities will hit way harder with a 2h.

I sure hope that you're amphibious...

Do you guys break down the blues/yellow items you find or do you just sell them? I've been salvaging everything but I dont have too much $

I usually salvage them because I'm trying to use crafting to fill in some weak spots in my gear and I think the value prop is better than a hundred gold or so from vendor

And now completely lagged out again. So I'll have to do this for a fourth time. Jesus christ, man. Think I'm done with it for tonight.

Before I start to cry :(

I just read this and cringed a little.

Gems can be found at levels 1-5, and with a maximum level of 14, the process of upgrading a gem all the way to the top should be a very long term project. If the current 3>1 upgrading ratio remains unchanged, then it would require 1,594,323 level 1 gems to make a single level 14 gem (3^(14 - 1)). To give you an idea how long this would take, just upgrading the gems that many times would take 664 hours of nonstop clicking, assuming you could complete one upgrade per second.

This game would be awesome if it didn't lag, y'know

Hi LAN

So is it just me, or is the auction house making it really easy to get good items? i mean the ordinary gold auction house. For 5000ish gold per item, Ive been able to deck myself out in amazing gear that's way better than anything Ive been able to find, and my character has become extremely powerful. It seems like a way better use of gold than anything else.

Im level 17 hardcore on the asian server. I dont really get why these amazing items are going for so cheap. Like right now I bought a pair of gloves for 6500. Its got 54 armor, + 25ish vit, dex and int, +7% attack speed, and one other minor thing. Thats nutty.

Look at it this way: that 5000 gold provides a short term benefit, but it will be wasted gold once you upgrade that piece. Spending that gold on stash tabs or artisans provides a permanent benefit.

Some people are just giving up short term benefits to invest in the long term.

The Female Wizard being Azula from Avatar is soooo fucking good. Why? because I feel the need to be evil everytime she talks.

I've been going dual wield, since that means I can double up on +dex stuff.

At level 35 I have 737 dex, and I'm also using that ability that turns your dex stat straight into armor, so that stat is crazy good for me. I'm getting addicted to finding just a few more dex on everything, searching the AH and stuff till I get it.

Oh god, well at least they are salvageable from armor.

As I understand it, the various options look like this:

1H + 1H: Fastest attacks, better spirit regeneration, smaller special damage.
1H + Shield: Fast attacks, low spirit regeneration, improved defense (pick high +DEX shields).
2H: Slow attack, low spirit regeneration, high special damage.

EDIT: That should make more sense...

But I think by the time Im farther enough along that Ill be replacing these amazing items, getting 5000 gold will take almost no time. Honestly It already takes very little time.. like maybe 20 - 30 minutes. Is crafting with a levelled up artisan like ridiculously amazing or something?

hahaha didn't even get the lvl 60 achievement

good job Blizzard

keep making games

Well you can create pretty good items, if the RNG gods are with you. It's like gambling.

Why not just resell the item you bought?
