Diablo III |OT4| Antiques Roadshow: Sanctuary Edition

Farming inferno has actually been way easier since the DH "nerfs", since they nerfed the shit out of mobs too. Bloodclan spearmen were the bane of my existence when farming dark areas, but now even elite spearmen don't kill me in one hit. Could be my imagination, but elites seem to be dropping faster too.

I think the only mob that's legitimately harder now are elite phase beasts with ridiculous affixes. NT used to hit them 3x now they take forever to kill, and in the end I don't think it's worth the repair cost of dying 3-5 times to take them down. Oh well. I'm gonna farm other acts now, just cuz I'm so sick of farming azmodan, lol.

I thought mobs that like to run away were supposed to do it much less in the new patch?

I just ran into 2 elite packs back to back of 'Fallen Prophets' and they ran away constantly. The first pack had Nightmarish/Shielding/Teleport/Frozen and pissed me off so fucking much. I think I might skip the next pack like that, just to spare myself frustration.

The shaman enemies and occultists still run away constantly. I just finished a run and the majority of the packs I ran into had nightmarish/shielding. I think I'm going to just remake next time I get that twice in a row because the RNG is obviously shitty enough to keep giving it to me over and over until I leave. A couple of times they had molten too which is impossible to engage as melee. Really annoying.

fire chain wasps are still pretty stupid

As well as jailer/waller/desecrator/fast wasps

I can take the hits pretty well, but I can't get any damage in for a long time with them fleeing

Well that was some fun farming for today. I got a lot of gear that once on the AH will sell for millions, I think. I'm gonna be rich!

Mostly because I spent all of it trying to craft better weapons and armor.

The game really jobs people who leveled blacksmithing like you did. Total oversight by Blizzard. It's too expensive early and barely worth it -- there wouldn't have really been much harm and letting players craft awesome shit for themselves at low levels anyway.

Blacksmithing is viable at high levels. You need the six prop plans though (like Doomcaster, or other desirable plans).

People will basically pay you as if you were a casino to craft items for them. They could get junk and you still get paid.

It seems to be a glitch that was in the game prior to the patch as well, pretty rare though.

That charge back thread on the battle.net forums is hilarious.

Link please :D

Oh my God it's glorious.

It should be renamed the "Use the nuclear option; Get banned" thread.

I found another thread where someone was threatening to report them for wire fraud over an auction that error'd out, where he didn't get his item back.

The new patch allows you to easily craft at lower levels. I have been doing this with my Monk all the way up to Hell, haven't touched the AH yet. I either get a good loot, something from the vendor or from craft. Pretty much how it was meant to be. It usually takes at least 5-6 crafts to get something decent though.

But this is all after I had leveled up my BS/Jeweler from my previous character which made it easier for subsequent characters as they don't have to waste money on upgrades which were very expensive pre-patch. I also ejuasily upgraded all my jewels up to Flawless Square level now. I wished they would tone down the gems above Flawless Square just a bit, it's a huge jump now for not that much of a stat difference.

Oh and 1.03 should've been the launch patch.

Hence why I said at early levels ;b

I'm still surprised they altered pre-existing items. Before the game released, I'd figured there'd be legacy pre-nerf stuff that would retain or increase in value as the changes came out. They certainly seemed fine leaving subpar legendaries as is.

Just got home... this is fucking incredible! I'm actually killing stuff (and elites!) in the Fields of Slaughter Act III on my Barbarian. I love it. Still a challenge, but I don't get insta-gibbed anymore.

Just ran through all the act 1 elites. Mostly got a bunch of junk and a handful of junk ilvl 62/63s, but I did get a mil+ amulet and this:

That LoH is pretty legit. DPS is lowish but not low enough to keep me from using it when I feel like playing melee.

Farming later acts is still probably more efficient, but act 1 is fun so it's nice to know there's a chance you can get some really good stuff there.

Patch makes things possible, but still difficult. Good I suppose, just a little burnt out with the game I guess.

I got over half way through act 2, but I had to flee a few elite squads because my dps is too low. I cannot kill HP link fast enough. My DPS went from 39-40k to 30k with the IAS nerf. I don't consider fleeing fun, so I'm going to gear up.

I'll need more INT and critical replacements, but the prices haven't deflated yet.

Got 2 really good drops tonight:
1. Amulet with 230 dex & 100 VIT iirc and some other minor stats.
2. Amulet with 38% magic find, 100 VIT, and a couple of other nice minor bonuses (like +3k health pickup)

Really need something like #1 with INT, and rings with 150 int + critical chance/damage.

Going to stash my IAS and not sell it in case they de-nerf it.

I'm probably going to switch to Civ5 and wait for 5M items in the AH to drop to 50k because that's where they're heading. I remember lvl 60 items in act 1 going for 150k a couple of weeks ago now selling for 5k. Same thing will happen. Supply/demand.

That's a great axe. The perfect 3% life steal isn't anything to ignore either. Put a gem in there for more LoH and you'll be getting a shit ton of life back per hit.

Well I'm level 53 at this point...and still wearing a level 20 ring I found in Normal difficulty, because I still haven't found a better ring. That's how sad my luck has been.

I had items like that my first time through, but really some of those low level items are pretty insane too. I had 70 Int 70 vit 70 Dex IAS gloves that were level 27 that all of my characters have worn.

I took a glance at the AH... And I notice there is a "Increased Damage Against Elites" affix. Did this always exist?

Yes. It's just not common (perhaps only on some legendaries? I'm not sure.)

Still rocking some level 43 or so rings (and maybe a couple other pieces in that range) at 60. Haven't found replacements yet, and better things on the AH would cost a ton.

To my fellow monks. I'm starting to stack resists and managed to hit 540 with One With Everything. I didn't have much to spend so I had to get pieces with all resist and my resist of choice which is poison. Because of that the base armour of my gear is kind of ass at around 4k

Should I run Evasion with Hard Target or stick with Healing and Time of Need? My dex isn't that great so I can't go full evasion right now

Good god. You're going to get paid. Try for $250 on the RMAH with that thing.

I cannot believe that their response to some class breaking bugs like zombie bears is that it will be fixed next patch....wtf

It is crazy. Bears are still awesome, but you really have to position carefully to maximize them. Act II dungeons are the worst, with floor tiles killing a wave.

Surely that's not a hard fix? With how a lot of their changes have been heavy handed while simultaneously not fixing basic shit, I sometimes wonder whether they realized how modular the engine needed to be.

... still love it.

I see the argument in demanding refunds/chargebacks, I'd be pretty pissed if I bought an item and then it was altered after delivery

Yeah, but you know Blizzard is going to ban them for doing it. It's not worth it.

Unless you bought a $250 item that is suddenly terrible, I guess.

I'd love to see this in court, not Canadian court because fuck wasting resources on this shit but I'd love to see what happens

That would be fine, but...my stuff is so bad I can't beat the damned Skeleton King on Hell despite having killed enough stuff to be level 53.

I would go with MoE and Hard Target because your resists (x10) is higher than your armor.
