I missed the memo.

Oh well, I'm probably just 'playing my WD "wrong"'. In the meantime, I'll continue playing the way I am with 41% crit an 260% crit damage firebombing my way to loot heaven. I might not be optimal "Zombie bearz VQ only pls" but I'm farming just fine.

That and they fixed WD spells that weren't benefiting from Crit. Unless they forgot to fix them but said they did, anyway.

Even if the only wd skill that benefits from crit dmg was one of the signature attacks, it would be optimal to stack critdmg rather than use zombie bears without any so yes that's what you should be doing

So i usually dont ask for PC's but im having trouble with this one.

KWHnm.jpg

There was only one dagger on the RMAH with similar properties. It had a buyout at $100 but with half the DPS. Anyone?

ive put up a similar dagger.

dps i forgot
strength 125
dex 230-something
vit 240-soemthing
LoH 800
maybe one more random stat?

I was overpricing it so it didnt sell, but now im holding on to it for my offhand since im rerolling a new char.

i think they go 1-5ish mill?

Somewhat small question, for Cyclone crit monks, what's a good crit chance % to have to start using Cyclone? I'm currently sitting at about 28.5% and it's decent enough popping out cyclones now and then, but is it optimal?

Thanks for the info on the dagger, friends.

One more question. Do the plans for the 4 prop armors go for Anything or should I trash it. I have 10 auctions on the gold house so I can't check myself

How do you check if a piece of gear you get will sell? ...

And how does a buyer search for a plan to see how much it costs to buy? ...

I've found 3 plans, all of 3 them for the same 4 affix exalted sovreign helm, I think when I checked they were only selling for 323 gold on the AH. That plan at least is very common, I suspect the other 4 affix armors are as well but haven't checked. You should be able to do a search on what it costs to buy the plan even if you have 10 auctions going.

So I got a budget of about....3 maybe 4 million. Looking for a good 1 hander for my Wizard. Anybody have anything to sell? I currently have:

863DPS
65%crit
129intel

and want something quite a bit better. Maybe LoH as well or is that too much for my budget?

You'll probably have to sacrifice DPS to get LOH in addition to crit and intel. Maybe as much as 150-200. It depends how much LOH you want, really.

Eff that, no LoH then. Just want more damage! Best thing I found so far on AH is 4mil for a wand that gives me

+3k DPS
+11 Arcane Power
+8% Magic Missile damage (my main attack)

Seems pretty good, especially with that MM attack. Not sure if its worth 4mil tho.

I'm interested in selling my D3 account is that pretty shady thing to attempt to do? Is there some safe way? If there is any risk in getting scammed or having blizzard ban the account its definitely not worth it to me.

Just killed inferno diablo with my monk. Did the entirety of inferno solo (except for Ghom, that shit is broken).

Feels good.

I've done what I wanted to do. My monk destroys anything in her path, I can farm act three without dying, I have good gear, and money in the bank. I have invested way to much of my time into this game so I'm finally calling it quits.

I'll be back for whatever expansion they put out, but until then I am free of this damn game.

I'm not saying that WDs do not benefit from crit whatsoever, it's just that they don't benefit from it as much as every other class and they don't have any significant extra benefits from other stats to compensate for that. So a WD who's geared in end-game gear with all stats like res/vit/int/crit/critdmg will still be weaker than any other class who is similarly geared.

Sorry to ask for a pricecheck, but I have no clue how to sort for this thing on the market. I guess obviously I should be searching by Dex/All Res, but what would be considered the next best on there? I'm sure it's worth a little bit, but just no clue precisely how much. Why can't that have CHC?! :(

Search 150 Dex, 70 All-Res, 40% gold find. Probably should slot in a Star Emerald to make it more visible.

That's a pretty decent gold farmer hat. Socketed hats with gold find or magic find are good because you can put in a gem to increase the GF/MF even more.

You want to do 2 searches: one with dex/vit/all res/socket (use different combinations of the 3 to see which combo gives you the best price) to see which is more valuable.

Then do a search as a gold find helm, with the goldfind percent (natural + gem) and dex in the search boxes. Then see how much the price goes up when you add vit.

This should give you a rough idea of what you should sell it as, and at what price it might go for. Remember to check bids so that if something isn't being bid on, the price is probably too high.

This worth any thing?
screenshot060z.jpg

Nope, completely worthless. You should give that to me immediately for disposal.

It's worth a lot. High LOH plus high crit, on an 800+ DPS dagger? Cha-Ching. It's also very easy to check on in the AH. Search one hand, 700 LOH, 80% crit and see what comes up.

My money making scheme is now snow--balling at a respectable pace. Started with 1 million gold, and have flipped to 8 million using both auction houses. The more I do it, the more battle.net bucks I can acquire which allows me to profit quicker. I figure in a about a week or 2 I can actually start really raking in the dough. The key is to keep it as blizz bucks to to avoid the extra 15% charge until I'm ready to start cashing out for real money.

I just wish fiery brimstones would hit the 200k a piece price soon again, as that allows for quicker accumulation.

Heyheyhey! Don't forget about our pets man, sure we don't benefit from silly stuff like crit, but we've got awesome pets to make up for it!

Oh yeah and that huge toad swallowing mobs also makes up for a lot.

Here's a sample video from one of our typical Act3 runs. This is just before and after the Bridge of Korsik, and then Siegebreaker.

For those of you who didn't take up my invitation to come on farming runs, this is what you've been missing out on ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr2FA49L6pI

Think we might have caused our server to start sweating at around the 4 minute mark, hahaha.

I think by now, most others have caught on to this way of farming since I've seen more streams pick up on it lately. Might as well post some videos.

Wow, the bidding system is SO STUPID

I put a bid on an item earlier just to bookmark the item, because u know, theres no goddamn watchlist function, and now I wanted to raise my max bid because it's going to end while I'm sleeping, and not only do they force me to have the entire amount of my new bid, not just the difference, but they raise my current bid! I had a 2mil bid and raised it to just under the buyout at 4mil, and they raised the current bid to 2.1mil. That's stupid as fuck.

Just got back from SDCC and realized I no longer have any urge to play this game. Never thought I'd feel this way a couple months after the release of D3.

I'm amazed you survived this long - reading your posts it was such a torture and diablo 3 sucked so badly and yet here month or two later you finally have no urge to play it ?

Can't wait for new wave of torchlight 2 will be awesome posts from you dude.

I kept sticking around despite my complaints thinking Blizzard would wise up and patch it into the sequel it should have been. After about 2 weeks when I got to the shitty endgame my playtime was reduced to gob farming with friends for 30min before logging out. Now I'm too bored to do even that. Had this game NOT been "diablo 3" and just some new IP I probably wouldn't have done more than beat normal.

So much hostility... I'm sorry I offended your taste in video games with my posts.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
Dear Diablo Players,

Now that Diablo III has been out for two months, I would like to take a step back and discuss the launch, the feedback from the community, and talk about what the future holds for the game.

We’ve had an enormous amount of feedback since the launch. I speak for everyone at Blizzard when I say that we appreciate the passion and affection many of you have for the Diablo series. We truly believe “Every Voice Matters,” so I want to thank you for sharing your experiences in an effort to help us improve the game. Your support makes it possible for us to continue doing what we do, and we never take that for granted.

The launch week of Diablo III was memorable for many reasons -- some positive, and some not so positive. We were thrilled that Diablo III had the biggest PC-game launch ever, surpassing the lifetime sales of Cataclysm (the previous record holder for biggest PC-game launch) in a matter of weeks. We’ve been floored by the response.

However, the launch had many challenges as well. It has always been difficult to forecast how many players we will have. With World of Warcraft, it was a challenge to handle the immediate demand when we launched back in 2004, and that was just in North America. We eventually expanded to other regions and reached nearly 5 million players by the end of the first year, and there were a lot of growing pains with that. However, we’ve never gone from 0 to more than 6 million players across multiple continents within a few days with a brand-new game. For Diablo III, we looked at historical sales for Blizzard games and other top-selling PC games and watched preorder numbers. We even upped our estimates to ensure we had additional capacity, or so we thought. In the end, it just wasn’t enough, and that is something we will work hard to conquer for future releases.

In response to the immediate and overwhelming demand for the game, the team worked around the clock to support all regions, increase capacity, ship additional hardware to our datacenters, and troubleshoot and fix bugs as they sprang up. While things have by and large been running smoothly for several weeks now, various game-related issues have come up that we have either already responded to or are continuing to investigate (such as the latency issue some of you are experiencing) and make adjustments for. Rather than address every subject individually, I’ll just say that even as we work to address or resolve current issues, it’s always possible that further issues will crop up. We hope that our actions in the past have demonstrated that above all else, we’re committed to delivering an awesome game experience, and we hope you’ll have faith that we will continue to keep that commitment and respond to any new or outstanding issues quickly.

We are not satisfied with breaking launch records; we want people to continue playing and enjoying Blizzard games for a very long time. The Diablo III team has made an epic, entertaining, and beautiful gaming experience. That being said, we know that it isn’t perfect. Our teams are working hard to improve the game balance, build on our design, and listen to what players are saying to make it the best game it can be.

You’ve seen some of that work already in patch 1.0.3, and you’ll see additional improvements with patch 1.0.4. On the game balance front, this update will contain changes designed to further deliver on the team’s goal of promoting “build diversity,” with buffs to many rarely used, underpowered class abilities. Another topic we’ve seen actively discussed is the fact that better, more distinct Legendary items are needed. We agree. Patch 1.0.4 will also include new and improved Legendary items that are more interesting, more powerful, and more epic in ways you probably won’t be expecting.

We’re also working on a number of interface updates, including social improvements that will allow players to more easily view their friends’ achievements, more quickly join games, and more efficiently communicate with each other. In addition, we’ll be making updates to the auction house in the future to provide players with better information through tooltips and notices, offer improved search functionality, and more.

Regarding the real-money auction house, our primary goal for including this in the game was to provide convenience and peace of mind for those players who might otherwise turn to third-party services to buy items. Black market trading sites can put accounts at risk and create many customer service challenges. We felt that the players themselves also deserved the opportunity to benefit from the extra loot they found, as opposed to having all of the benefit go to the black market/illegal trading organizations. We know the auction house isn’t perfect, but with your help and feedback, we’ll be able to continue making it a better experience for those who choose to use it. On the flipside, we are also committed to ensuring you have a great experience with Diablo III without feeling like the auction house is mandatory, which was never our intention. Thank you for all the feedback about that.

One other common topic we’ve seen in the forums is the always-connected experience, and the perception that the online requirement is nothing but an ineffective form of copy protection that has already been cracked. While we’ve never said that this requirement guarantees that there will be no cheating or game cracks, it does help us battle those problems (we have not found any fully functional cracks). More important to us is that the online requirement is critical for the long-term integrity of the game experience. I fully understand the desire to play Diablo III offline; however, Diablo III was designed from the beginning to be an online game that can be enjoyed with friends, and the always-online requirement is the best way for us to support that design. The effectiveness of the online elements -- including the friends list and cross-game communication; co-op matchmaking; persistent characters that you can use by yourself, with others, and in PvP; and some of our customer support, service, and security components -- is tied directly to the online nature of the game. These and other online-enabled features are essential to our design for Diablo III. That said, there are still improvements we believe we can make to expand the online experience and make co-op play even more rewarding, and this will remain one of our priorities moving forward. Overall, while there are some downsides to the online-only approach, I still believe this was the best long-term decision for the game.

I know many of you are also looking forward to patch 1.1, our PvP update, which will provide new experiences and give you a whole new way to apply the skills you’ve picked up while battling demons. This patch will also build on the social and auction house changes I mentioned above, and the team will continue to fix bugs and further tune game balance as well.

We’re also working on a gameplay system that will provide players who have max-level, high-powered characters new goals to strive for as an alternative to the “item hunt.” We’re not ready to get into specifics just yet, but I can say that we’re actively taking your feedback into account as we plan out the future of the game.

As always, we appreciate your candor and passion. Your constructive feedback and thoughts are valuable -- they will continue to help us be a better company. I just want to reiterate that while we can’t claim to have ever shipped a perfect game, we are committed to supporting our games relentlessly and making improvements where we can. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Mike Morhaime

...meh. No new news, really. Just sort of the same "we promise everything will be better eventually, please be patient!" stuff that we've been seeing. Maybe 1.04 will be rad, but I doubt it will fix/change enough to make me excited about the game again.

I was excited about the AH interface changes... until I got to the bit that makes it look like it'll be in 1.1 (i.e. Not for a very long time).

What the fuck does that even mean?

Instead of fixing the item hunt, the core part of Diablo, they are creating something else?

Ugh.

Of all the things to complain you choose to complain about them adding additional features into the game. The quoted sentence doesn't even imply that they don't intend to "fix" item hunt (they are for instance buffing legendaries after all). The item hunt aspect of the game doesn't differ much at all from d2, almost everything you ever found in d2 is complete trash. Gamers are so whiny

Well, looks like now is as good a time as any to take a break and enjoy the steam sale. Hopefully their fixes do actually work, and the new legendaries are actually unique. I still can't believe how horribly they screwed that up, but I'm willing to give them another chance.
