so only inferno act 3/4 gear sells for real money right?

Nope. The stuff I sold was all lower level uniques and stuff. I had one item from Act 2 inferno, but other than that nah. You've got to think that some of these people if they're so casual they don't have time to farm, they may not even be into inferno yet. I definitely think there's a market there for people gearing up to get into inferno, not just people there. Remember, Blizzard said only like 1 or 2 percent of people are in inferno.

It was very, very good...but it was an enchantress token...for $250. I guess I'm not that surprised because my junk sold as well. Still, I don't get it.

Did he show it on his stream? If so, that explains it. Someone wanted Kripp's token lol. Otherwise, I have no idea.

I never had any luck selling my top-tier Enchantress tokens.

This game is now officially a casino.

Casino's charge money. This is a giveaway.

Kripp sold an enchantress token for $250...

Christ almighty. How much should I sell this one for?

For a discussion pages back, DHs die more often in groups because it's mostly a game of kill before you get killed. In groups they get multiple of their original hp amount. Against ranged mobs, having a barb or a monk in the group makes it more likely that you get killed because you need much more time to kill a mob and they can't dps, can't exactly "tank" or draw aggro. Well for the ones that I played with anyway.

I sometimes play with a monk friend of mine and I'd die twice as much because he contributes minimal damage, splits the mobs up from my cc, and just makes the game more random which I need to pay more attention to to survive instead of relying on more predictable mob patterns. I don't get really get hit by melee anyway and he doesn't help against ranged. I don't know what he's supposed to do most of the time other than just run around in front of me. He's like good for boss fights to revive me and not much else.

Pretty much. Playing a 10k hp DH can be a really frustrating experience.

I have 25k hp, I can occasionally survive some hits in act 3, but even with DH with good defense I don't think it's much different. What are melee group members supposed to help me at? Maybe the players that I played with just suck.

Is 13.3 life per spirit spent decent on a monk fist? (600 DPS) Or is that really low?

It's information overload right now. No one can find your items, so they can't buy them.

Fair enough.

13.3 is ok but you want higher. The weapon I was using prior to my current 1100 DPS one was a blue 800 DPS fist weapon with 50.5 LpSS. It only costed me 1 mil at the time.

Currently hit yet another wall in Act with Blood and whatever ZK section. Tried to dual wield and run MoE hard target (with the passive that gives an evasion bonus for 2 hands) in addition to the current MoH: resistance + 20% with One with Everything.

Leading away the elite packs I couldn't beat work with one section, but the caves are just too narrow to pull that. Is there a farm point at this stage in act 2 with those stats?

If you're soloing, raise your DPS, Act 2 got massively easier for my Monk once I hit a threshold in DPS, around ~20k I think. Of course, I don't solo much so I kind of let up on it after Act 2 and mostly work on my defense (especially since I dropped all of my IAS for massive bucks, worried about what the patch will do to it)

That's why co-opping is frustrating. Mobs de-aggro the "tank" (who usually can't tank, except for a few people I've played with), and come after you instead. There's no way you can solo them, so you end up just running.

There's also the issue of Hatred regen being depleted after a fight, and the barb running ahead going "omg omg I have fury, I need to spend it before it goes away" (if I understand the fury mechanic correctly and I'm not imagining it) which leads to us getting to the next mob while I have no hatred.

You are doing way too little damage. Here's my Monk's stats:

27k DPS
41 HP
600 Resist All
500 Life per Hit

Is the dexterity unnaturally low or is it the weapon (600 dps 1h)? If it is the weapon where should I farm? Everything in Act 1 seems to be capped at 600 for 1h.

Both.

A2 can drop up to 800-850 dps 1H if you get godly rolls. Getting your dex up higher will help with your defense/dps at the same time though.

edit:
You can have one of these if you want:

Are you doing some no-AH thing? If not, why won't you just do a few runs, round up some cash and hit up the AH?

Glutton for punishment/I'm an idiot. But, yes I'm getting the sense that the game is designed around the AH. Or at least it will be after every "op" skill gets nerfred and chest that people farm gets nerfed.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
The biggest reason I haven't bothered with Inferno yet is that I still haven't gotten any drops worth shit. I finished Hell on my Monk with 7k DPS, and that was only because a friend gave me a 600 DPS weapon. All I could afford/find was a 300 DPS weapon.

I simply have bad luck. Oh well. I'm having more fun leveling up other classes anyway.

Few runs of what? I've been playing for over 100 hours, and I've never had over 700k gold. I'm curious where everyone is getting their cash.

(that said, I've probably played all of an hour of Inferno so far. been leveling my other classes)

Me and swiftlame are thinking about running a super tank DH build. Run Guardian Sentry, Caltrops with increased critical chance 10%, Shadow Power Gloom, Bat Companion and get a good high dps one hander and use an ivory tower with critical hit chance/max block, using the passives Night Stalker/Archery/Numbing Traps. super tank DH!

Damn, Act III is just depressing to play as a Barbarian. I wonder if my strategy just sucks.

I think I have the gear to do it. I have 1100 Physical resist and around 800 in all other resists. 9500ish armor, 48% block rating with a Stormshield, 800dps 1hander with 750 LoH, and 31% attack speed increase. My HP is low at 35k, but I don't see how having even twice that amount would help me much considering how quickly I go down.

I just get murdered by any and all rares. The normal mobs are fine, but the rares I can't even look at. I guess I could progress through the act by training rares out of the way and playing super carefully, but that doesn't sound like much fun, and once I get into the corridors below the keep, it may not even be possible.

Oh, well... maybe I have to wait until 1.0.3

Still dependent on Discipline for SP, just like the glass cannon build is for Smoke Screen.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes in any case. I've been hunting for a cheap 1 hander with 10 discipline to try out attacking faster (doing less damage per hit) but with more discipline to spare.

It's crap that Bows and Xbows can't roll discipline.

Night stalker with 50% crit will solve all your disc problems.

It has a chance to restore 1 discipline. Has anyone calculated what % chance that is?

Could work if you got the gear for it.

I've been tanking with Wiz act 1 though. Healing with hydra (life on kill 2800 weapon), and 500 resists with a 1k+ shield, about 4k armor (energy shield). I have a feeling life on kill with hydra resummoning counting as 3 kills will be hotfixed. It's a good amount of curing for a small amount of arcane magic. I wish WD could do this, but dat cooldown, and the summons usually cost a lot :(

Score:
3 for Wiz
? for WD

Solo? Are you using enchantress to buff your armor as well? Which mobs are giving you problems exactly (but yes your HP is a bit low) What build are you using?

I did it perfectly fine with much lower stats (700 res all, 6200 armor, 20% block 1300 LoH, 40k HP, 25k DPS), felt pretty sturdy and didn't die too often, but I don't solo. The issue with Monk and Barb is they don't do enough DPS, you can be a human shield but it won't matter if you can't hurt things quickly enough before you're broken down.

Monk and Barb, especially since they HAVE to roll defense gear, need a straight up, no strings buff in that regard. To me it feels pretty apparent that it's the reason why melee need to be so much more overgeared, because you need to go to the ends of the Earth and back for defense AND be able to spring for DPS stats on the same gear.

Me and swiftlame run it and it procs a lot. It's more useful than having prep.

I'm really curious how 1.03 will change the auction houses.

On the one hand, there will be more high end gear on the market. On the other, repairing armor will become a much bigger gold sink, possibly causing deflation. Will those 2 factors balance out initially?

You have mostly same stats than mine, but slightly worse resist, but your HP is atrocious. You forget that VIT not only gives you HP but also armor.

That being said, you shouldn't be getting murdered by champs, but with 35k HP you definitely won't be able to kill them. I do fine on most champs (I actually do better solo) and as mentioned the only thing I've got on you is about 25k HP, a weapon with 200 additional base dps, and maybe 150 resist.

It could also be your spec I guess

Repair costs increase will only make the poor poorer really.

Killed everything, I think we only skipped one rare pack on the clear and it was the one that spawned in the small room close to the gate boss, and in that small room it had molten, plagued, horde and arcane sentry I think it was...so yeah, FUCK that.

With my stats I feel like I'm pretty hefty into diminishing returns already, it's absolutely ridiculous the kind of stats you need to stack to scrape by solo and hilarious how much more fun and comfortable it is when you have someone to DPS for you. I run Conviction + Overawe for her too instead of Evasion, which works well and has a good pace.

Haven't touched 4 yet, will when I get my gear back off of the RMAH I assume :lol I've sold enough.
