I think it means that since the monsters in Act 1 inferno are level 61 (62 at most), the maximum amount of affixes you'll get will be less than say, Act 3/4 monsters. This means that the best gear will always come from the later acts, though you can still find some very worthy things in Act 1 and 2. With the monster power system though, you should be able to adjust up the monster levels in the earlier (and later acts), and possibly end up with items that have more affixes than possible currently.

I am curious to see how this monster power thing works, as I wouldn't mind going back to act 1 and 2 if I can power them up high enough to drop things like act 3 with out a boost would lol

Does this essentially mean the only difference between items of different iLVL will be their base dps or armor

It also means all act III & IV items will roll iLVL 63 stats with the only difference being the base as well.

Seems kinda wild

if that is the case I have to assume the armor market is going to crash hard as last I checked most people don't care about the base armor on stuff just the extra stuff lol

edit: in the long run it will likely all be good though, as this is likely just a lot of testing to find what works well, and after if works well then when they bump the level cap up they can start fresh with the new high level items lol

Too bad this patch won't be coming out for a while since they are just beginning the testing phase.

Also not impressed with the monk changes.

but... bosses are higher level than normal monsters if i remember correctly... that means that your and mine assumptions could be correct ...

Started this up again after a month or something, loving the WD changes (first time I play since 1.04 release), my pets can now easily tank A2 without me going crazy with CC/armor/resists. Cool!

Patch 1.05 changes sound pretty cool as well and oh dear that paragon system, looks like I'm back :lol

Affixes on items will now roll their level based on the level of the monster killed (rather than the item’s level)
I wonder if this means that

a) ilvl 62 class specific items can roll ilvl 63 affixes
b) lower level legendaries with random affixes can also roll ilvl 63 affixes

Could any wizard offer some insight on what this source might be worth? I don't know the class very well so I'm not sure is it missing +max AP important? The closest one I can find on the AH is 200m but that seems overpriced like it'll never sell.

Max AP isn't important. That's a very nice roll and it could be worth a lot, but it's hard to say how much wizards are willing to play for a tal rasha source because oculus and chantodo have higher potential. If someone wants the 4 set bonus they are pretty much forced to use tal rasha source though because witching hour is so much better than tal rasha belt.

I'd say 200mn for that source sounds about right. Damage rolls are really good and I believe that is a double intel roll as well

EDIT: I'm a wiz and have been looking around for similar sources for about two weeks now. Try pricing it high first, maybe 250 mn, and lowering it until you sell it. If you want it to go fast, I'm sure it will move at the blink of an eye if you go 100mn. NA server btw.

Just found this set item. LOOK AT THAT SHIT. My 2nd set item I found after 300 hours of playing. OHHHHHH.....

I've been thinking about selling mine too considering the new patch will let you search for damage on off hands. There are no 400 damage ones out there as far as I can tell so I'm tempted to go nuts and list it for 500m.

List it like 250m with no buyout.

You'll most likely get that + way more.

Buy yourself a 350 damage one for 100mil-ish... profit!

I haven't played multiplayer a ton of times, so I don't know if this is a relatively common occurrence or not, but I was playing act 4 inferno with a group earlier. We got to Diablo, and the message came up about joining the boss fight. Well one guy declined, he was working on inventory stuff, so I declined as well, thinking the other two would. Instead they went on (those bastards lol), the one guy dies almost immediately, and the other guy... well he takes Diablo all by himself. He was a Barbarian, his health may have dropped below half a handful of times (was watching the little icon). Took a little bit of time, but he handily destroyed him. God damn. My DH gets one shotted by the DH clone usually lol

This is one helluva gem...great base damage rolls...int >300...max crit chance...9 AP on crit...with life %...this is an end game gear here!!

Fuckin finally. Stopped playing after I got two lvl 53 garbage legendaries in amidst of tons of lvl 63 rares.

That's kinda funny - because actually lvl 52 rares are sellable if they get good rolls - lvl 58 noone will buy since everyone is just a hour or two from lvl 63 goodness.

What an awesome, awesome patch!

There were a few things I mentioned quite a few pages back in this thread that I'd like to see and I swear Blizzard just added every single thing I asked for.

Some of the highlights for me:
- Ability to load stats from your item in AH - so useful
- Resplendent Chests are actually worth something again
- Experience Shrines
- Monster Power and Infernal - Great additions

From my own character's perspective, I think I must have missed the fact previously that Vault can now break out of Jailer. This was one of the main reasons I still kept SS around so it's definitely being removed from my skills now. Also it sucks it's getting nerfed down to 300% but the fact that you can at least stack Trail of Cinders is excellent.

I'm going to have to play around with my skills a little because I need to figure out what to replace SS with and possibly preparation too as Shadow Power won't be popped as often anymore so I'll likely have a surplus of discipline. Any suggestions from other DHs? Here's my current build:

Can someone pretty please post patch notes for work-GAF? I want to bask in all of their glory!

Probably isn't going to look pretty, but here you go:

PATCH FEATURES

New System: Monster Power
Similar to the "Players 8" command in Diablo II, Monster Power is a system designed to give players more control over how challenging enemies are in each difficulty. With this system, players can choose to increase the health and damage of monsters according to different "power levels" and in return they’ll receive scaling bonuses to experience (for heroes levels 1-59) as well as boosts to Magic Find and Gold Find (for heroes in Inferno) which will stack above the 300% cap. The option to increase Monster Power will be available to all players starting at level 1 in the Quest Selection window, and can be adjusted separately for Normal, Nightmare, Hell, and Inferno difficulties.

New Event: Infernal Machine
The Infernal Machine is a device that will allow level 60 players to battle "uber” versions of some of Sanctuary's most nefarious bosses. While the rewards for defeating these bosses will be great, some assembly is required. Only the most powerful Nephalem can unlock the secrets to building the Infernal Machine, but once forged the device can be used to open portals to special encounters featuring not one, but two bosses which have been augmented from their original versions, both in terms of difficulty and appearance. Defeating each boss pair will provide players with extra items and gold, as well as a chance to find components for a new Legendary ring

GENERAL
Resplendent Chests will now operate similarly to Elite packs in Inferno difficulty:
When players open a Resplendent Chest, they will receive a reward based on how many Nephalem Valor stacks they have active at the time Opening a Resplendent Chest will grant one stack of Nephalem Valor
Major in-game events will now grant one stack of Nephalem Valor when completed by a level 60 character in Inferno difficulty
If completed in a multiplayer game, all eligible characters in the party will receive the buff regardless of whether they participated in the event or were close to the event's location
Major in-game events in Inferno difficulty that involve a special chest or Unique monster (ex: ) will now also drop additional loot for every stack of Nephalem Valor a player has active at the time of the event’s completion
Several events have had Unique monsters added to them for this purpose
Experience Shrines can now appear in Inferno difficulty Two new shrines have been added to all difficulty levels:
Empowered Shrine – Increased resource regeneration and reduced cooldowns Fleeting Shrine – Increased movement speed and pickup radius
Followers, pets, and summoned creatures will no longer attack enemies that are in an idle state unless the player is within 10 yards of the enemy The reduction of snare effects against Elite monsters has been reduced (in the player’s favor):
Normal: 20% to 0% Nightmare: 30% to 15% Hell: 40% to 25% Inferno: 40% to 25%
Crowd control effects will now be affected by diminishing returns. To learn more about how diminishing returns will work in Diablo III (and why these changes are an overall buff to player CC), click here!
AUCTION HOUSE
Search parameters will now save when switching between the gold and real-money auction house An additional sortable column has been added to the results window
This column will have a drop-down box populated with each of the Preferred Stats that players indicated for their search (only one Preferred Stat can be selected at a time)
The Preferred Stat list is now sorted alphabetically A button has been added to allow players to quickly reset Preferred Stat filters to "None" Players can now search for +Damage on off-hand items When searching for items to purchase, an option to "autofill" stats based on what the player is currently wearing has been added Similarly, when selling an item, a "Find Similar" button has been added to allow players to quickly search for items currently up for auction that have similar stats Bug Fixes
When claiming stackable items from the auction house, the claimed items will always attempt to fill out partial stacks completely before falling back to using an open slot in your inventory The color-coding for the "Quality" drop-down menu for Pages & Recipes has been updated to match the color-coding for all other categories Fixed a bug that was causing the minimum value for the Spirit Regen affix to not filter items correctly

BATTLE.NET
The "Friend of Friend" feature for finding and adding Real ID friends is now available for Diablo III A new item delivery system has been added that will allow Blizzard to send items directly to players (you may see us testing this feature over the course of the PTR) Achievements
An Achievement button has been added to the in-game hotbar Players can now link Achievements in chat
Banners
Players can now customize their banner in-game while in town Each banner reward type now has sub-categories organized by the content they were rewarded from (Hardcore, Crafting, Challenges, etc.) New unlocked banner rewards are now highlighted so they can be found more easily
Chat
Players can now change font color (per channel) and size Clicking on items linked in chat will now provide a comparison tooltip based on what you are currently wearing Several additional improvements have been made to in-game chat to increase usability

BOSSES
Azmodan
Bug Fixes
Azmodan should no longer be able to cast Flame Meteors or continue channeling his Laser attack while stunned

Are you willing to build one? If so do you have parts you can recycle (stuff like a case, optical drives, anything not power related to bring the cost down). If so you can build a solid machine for 800.

Check this thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=455869

If you built the enhanced PC, which comes to $774, it would destroy D3.

I can't build one but I can try to find someone who can, thanks!

Don't like the nerf to Barbs. I'd have been happier if the damage of the whrilwinds was reduced, even if reduced by like 50% or more, but the way they did it is going to kill my life on hit and fury generation for my other abilities. Barbs have had it good, especially the well geared ones, but this will directly make the game less fun for me. Like the changes to everything non-character related so I won't stink up the thread complaining, i just won't be playing very much anymore.

Probably isn't going to look pretty, but here you go:

It's... beautiful...

Thanks, can't wait!

It's definitely worth it if you can find someone to help you out. I built my machine for about $300-400 4 years ago, and it still plays everything fine around medium settings. Looking to upgrade sometime soon, but stay far away from Best Buy if you can help it.

I'm trying to but my parents don't wanna wait on any of that, they're saying get it now or don't get it, don't wanna go to best buy but it's looking like that :<

You really...really...really need to get your parents to reconsider. You can get a much better computer for a lowered cost if you order online. You could order today and have all the parts in by Tuesday. Not only are you getting a worse computer if you go the Best Buy route, you're getting a computer that will likely be more difficult to upgrade in the future. Unless you way overspend ($1,200+) on a PC at BB, you're gonna get something that will require a new PSU to upgrade to a upper mid-range card.

It's kind of like food, you can overpay for an alright burger at 5 guys, or you can save money and make a kickass burger off your grill.

That's what I'm saying!!! haha, I'm gonna try hard to get them to reconsider, but who knows what'll happen, if I have to go to Bb, I'll make sure I get the best out of it. (Dunno if that's possible with BB LOL)

This patch sounds awesome. Not seeing any nerf on proc rate for Storm Chaser either. I hope they won't hotfix it.

Here's what you do, steal their credit card and overnight everything.

Do you guys get latency issues or is just me? It's mostly fine in the morning and at night, but in the middle of the day most days I just can't play the game. latency is all over the place (200-300+) which makes it unplayable :/

What say you? No vita and the strength could be higher but the other stats are pretty good, I think. Nothing similar on the AH (Europe).

It won't be worth as much as you like. Belts can roll a lot of str, so having it that high is common. Search for 145 str, 2.5 life steal and 70 resist all.

I'd say that's a very good belt that'll be made more desirable, but also less scarce due to improved itemization, in the next patch.

Not sure what comparable belts are going for right now on the AH, but I'd buy it from you for a million, so that means there'll be others willing to pay a few :p.

Barbs will almost necessarily have to have a lifesteal belt when the new patch rolls out.

I wonder if this means that

a) ilvl 62 class specific items can roll ilvl 63 affixes
b) lower level legendaries with random affixes can also roll ilvl 63 affixes

If I'm reading it correctly, it means all items that dropp from iLVL 63 mobs will roll with that level of affixes (or at least have the ability too). It does't matter if it's a level 58/59/60/61/62/63 item. So the only major difference in items will be their base DPS and ARMOR if you farm act III plus. The lower levels still have the same chance of getting a level 60/61/62/63 items but will have at best level 62 affix rolls.

This means that if you're farming items you have to pick up every yellow now as all loot has a chance to not suck. That coupled with the 1 second identify should be nice actually.

I also wonder if this applied to legendaries. Though I don't see why it wouldn't.

That's how I see it as well, but instead of making me want to farm acts 1-2 all it does is giving me more reasons to stick to act 3 as the loot will now be better and more consistent there.

Also I got a legendary yesterday night, it was the butcher's thing :(

This is what I was thinking of. I also remember reading somewhere that the Freeze on Hit was a nice addition.
I put it for 5M bid/10M buyout. If it doesn't sell 4M/9M in two hours and so on.

So I joined a friend's game that upgraded his starter edition to the full retail game. I tried to trade with him but it say's "Player Busy" and when i drop items for him to take he says the items appear then vanishes. He also can't access the auction house. What exactly is going on?

I think there's a waiting period if I recall from way back, maybe 72 hours?

Usually takes 12-36 hours or something for a person who legitimately bought the game digitally to actually have legit access to the game. Was so frustrating that first weekend my friend and I both started playing but couldn't trade or do anything with the AH.

Well ... you'll now have the ability to increase difficulty if you want. Increasing the iLVL of the mostners I would guess. So I think you might still be able to farm act I every once in a while. You'll just more weapons / armor with lower bases, but the rolls will be the same.

The butchers thing is pretty good depending on the roll. It looks cool / fun too.
