Buddy of mine got me some pants and gloves but thanks.

I just need to find a good starting point to farm. I used to farm the end of act 1 MP1/2 but i don't know if that is a viable place anymore. The game has changed a lot since i last played.

I don't know if you've noticed but they changed mob density in acts 1 and 2. They are better for farming than act 3.

Act 1:
Get a 5 NV stack in Festering Woods & Leoric's Manor, clear Halls of Agony 2, clear Weeping Hollow, and clear Fields of Misery and keep a lookout on the dungeon spawn Decaying Crypts.

Act 2:
Vault of the Assassin for 5 stack. Clear Desolate Sands, Clear Oasis, Clear the Forgotten dungeon in the Oasis, West Channel, East Channel.

I think I like solo WD farming in Act II better than Act I. There's less stuff that can one shot me and now that I've added bears things like bees aren't as large of a pain.

Don't waste money on life steal echoing fury. Get one with crit socket. if hou cant afford then Get one with nothing but huge damage and socket

Have you tried WW/rend with a good skorn? It seems like you should be able to really rake in the exp/hour if you switched to brawler, etc.

Act 2:
Vault of the Assassin for 5 stack. Clear Desolate Sands, Clear Oasis, Clear the Forgotten dungeon in the Oasis, West Channel, East Channel.

You can also do Storm Halls for top exp/hour (on par with the forgotten ruins). Just take the last waypoint and hug the bottom wall on your way there to avoid getting a checkpoint and losing your VOTA one.

The order doesn't matter too much. After VOTA I usually go Oasis, forgotten ruins, West/East/Aqueducts, keep running through to the desolate sands, then port to the archives for storm halls. If people show up late I do the mines and Alcanus to get them stacks.

I wish they would beef up the rest of the random dungeons so they're always worth running. That worm one is a cool concept but it's like half the exp/hour in there.

Decided to take a break from my Barb and level my Monk (at 51 now). Now when you're in Inferno, you just kind of expect shit and skip picking up most of the drops anyway. While you're leveling, you really get to see just how terrible the loot in this game still is. At level 51, end of nightmare, I was getting level 33-35 drops. How is fixing the loot so low on their priority of things to do that a year later this is still happening?

They first had to admit that there was a problem with their loot and that the AH is at the root of it. Now that they've taken that step it's going to be a long road to fix everything.

I've seen skorn barbs run out of berserker all the time. Skorn is too slow, I like fast.
was a skorn barb for very long time, all the way to para 57. Then I rerolled a monk and deleted that barb.

Are there ways of leveling new characters from 1-60 fast these days? I have a 40 barb sitting on my account i wouldn't mind getting to 60. I knew a few methods that don't seem to work anymore.

Have someone power level you. Stick a red gem and a helfire ring on your character and play MP10 with someone power leveling you.

Everyone i knew who used to play this moved on a long time ago lol.

I have 1 friend that still plays it and he is about as well geared and my 15 million budget wizard.

What's a good eHP/AR to be looking at for Barbs? My last two upgrades were both 5-6k dps upgrades, but lost AR on both. So I'm currently sitting at 167k dps unbuffed with 411k ehp, my individual resists are all between 420-490 and I have 44k HP. People seem to be saying that moving up MPs is more about DPS than eHP gains with Barbs, but I'm not sure what the baseline is. I just rolled most of Act 1 on MP5 fairly comfortably, but that was before I made those two changes out, so not sure what I should be aiming for. My upgrades were Bracers and Gloves crafts, so in theory I can get some/all of that AR back, but you know how crafting goes.

I tried monk and instant fall in love. Female barb is just unacceptable. The model designer needs to be dragged into a dark alley and shot. Can't believe I spent so much time looking at that abomination. I deleted her no hesitation

Male barb ftw

My HC barb is female though, for the sake of diversity (lvl 55!)

What is the appeal for playing this game? I put my fair share of time into it (200+hrs), and even made a hc character to end game. There was a lot of fun playing for sure, but everything felt so cookie cutter at the end. To be fair, most ARPG games have a cookie cutter element but D3 just seemed absurdly cookie cutter.

So, what are you still playing D3? Just a curious question.

Yeah I enjoy the combat on top of the casino aspects. For me, no skill tree has been awesome because we can experiment with builds. Being able to change things in my build to fit the scenario be it solo, low mp solo, group, ubers etc etc. The addition of paragon levels helped a ton as well. Makes a fruitless farming run feel less fruitless. I'm leveling an alt now too because of it.

For me, the marketplace is the primary draw. The auction house is incredibly fun and enjoyable.

Speaking of fun and challenges, are there known players farming HC MP10?

I guess with extremely high armor/resists and lots of vitality a barbarian would be unkillable... But still

Every time I come back to it, I can enjoy the combat system thanks to the animations for at least 80+ hours. Besides that, the builds that keep popping up are amazing. I have yet to farm the same way twice over a long period of time, especially with the changes made in previous patches.

Gameplay for gameplay's sake for me, I guess.
And I also hope that the game will turn into something more akin to D2 on the long run, in which case it would be better to keep up with it than to forget about it :p

So I gave bears a try the other night. Wasn't a fan. Bats seems to do a ton more dmg, and against kiting enemies where bears would shine I found it just as effective to run up to it, drop a hex then CoB it down before hex wore off.

Also really missed the survivability that hex gives vs troublesome elites.

Fair enough, I'll give hex a try and see what works for me. Bears is awesome for killing bees though. Maybe for act I I'll give hex a shot.

Hey guys, I haven't played D3 for nearly a year and I wanna jump back in. Can I get some Barbarian-specific advise on what's the current hot/fun builds for playing? I was last using the Double Tornado build and I wonder if that's still good, ideally I want to keep using that since it was pretty much the only build in the game that I actually had fun playing with.

Here's my current gear and build literally untouched for a year.

IK chest belt and boots
Inna pants
Crafted gloves (10% CC, 40% cd, IAS and high str), bracers (6% cc, 230+ str, vit and 70+ all res) and shoulders (250+ str, vit and 70+ all res)
Average damage CC and cd rings/amy
MH with high damage, str, CD and open socket, fast OH (or EF of you can find one for cheap) with LS, OS, CD and str.
Mempo without crit if yours is high enough (because a crit mempo is just way too expensive)

Your spec is fine, I was still using it less than a month ago.
Edit : I'd replace nerves of steel with either bloodlust or brawler.

Holy shit prices have really sunk down, I can get an IK chest for 150k haha. It was like 50 million when I stopped playing.

edit: What does MH and EF stand for?

Main hand (mace or axe) and echoing fury. A mace will get slightly more of a DPS boost out of the EF's attacks per second boost, since it's a bigger relative jump in attack speed (therefore DPS)

Thanks, could I maybe get a link to an up-to-date WW barb guide which explains what stats I need to aim for so I don't have to keep bugging you guys for every little thing? I'm wondering what's up with the lack of life on hit or lifesteal in the suggestions now, is the game that much easier now?

That's what monster power is for. Set your own difficulty. In general, they nerfed the shit out of inferno in order to give us the ability to tweek it's difficulty curve. They've added incentive to increased difficulty as well by increasing base MF and GF and EXP per level increase.

On jewelery :

CC, cd, ias and average damage are kings

On bracers : CC and if you go lacuni, IAS but beware, 6% CC str lacunis are uber expensive

LS (life steal) is on your IK belt and you bloodlust passive, that should be enough (and will allow you to get cheaper weapons)

On gloves 10% CC, 35+ cd and IAS, str roll is always 200+ so aim for those stats when crafting

On shoulders 275+ str, 100+ vit, life% if you're lucky and 75+ all res

On weapons MH use a mace with OS (open socket), cd (60+), str. Get a black damage one if you can

OH (off hand) get a cheap 0.24 or 0.25 EF with cd, os and str.

Pants get Inna's with str, vit ones cost a fortune so don't bother. Aim for 8-9 IAS

Mempo aim for 10-12% life, high str, socket and high IAS.

That should cover much of it

Slightly OT but did you all see the post by MSFT retracting most of what was said at E3 regarding their console, find it funny. Change any of your minds?

Meh it OT, but community threads are cool because its all the same peeps. I speak to you guys more than anyone here probably. IMO, I think it's great MS is doing a Flip flop, and wonderful our community played a part in the whole fiasco.

That being said I don't have the funds (permission) to buy two launch consoles and have been on PS for a while. Xbone was never really an "any time soon" console for me anyway, though now I can get one when prices fall later in its cycle.

I'm gonna start thinking about children in the next year or so too. Yikes.

Yes, almost all gaming related changes are, for me, simply something to observe with interest rather than actively participate in these days.

I'm not getting a PS4, Wii U, or Xbox One any time soon and will not get one unless something dramatically changes their course (i.e. an unexpected game or service that is highly innovative and original).

I am completely satisfied by my PC and would not have more or less fun by buying a new system, so I might as well not buy it and save myself the money.

I'm honestly amazed at how much delight kids get out of playing Nintendo games

It's truly fascinating.

When the gf and I play, it's always a Wii, WiiU or (3)DS game. She never touches the PS3 or the 360.

When she asks for a Final Fantasy game, she wants those on a Nintendo system (despite having FF7, 8 and 9 installed on the Vita)

My wife likes the PS3. Specifically Ratchet. She hates the Wii and is a graphics whore without knowing what a graphics whore is. It's the weirdest thing ever. Which works out alright for me.
