Hello Wanderers -

We have some late breaking news for our launch for Vessel of Hatred.
We are looking at a small delay for launch due to a small technical issue on our end. We are still expecting Vessel of Hatred to launch this evening, but we will need some additional time to ensure we have every player start at the exact same time across all platforms.

At 4pm PDT, we will begin locking out new logins for Diablo IV. Players already logged in prior to 4pm PDT will still be in-game on Patch 1.5.2, but they should expect to lose connection to the game over time while we do additional work to get the simultaneous launch prepared.

We apologize for the late breaking news on the time shift, but this is an important step we need to make to ensure every player can start their journey through Nahantu together.

We will be providing updates in this thread as they become available.

I wish companies would stop being greedy and just let me own something on all platforms once I buy a copy. Or pay an extra $10er to allow access on two platforms instead of buying it all over again.

You figure now that MS owns them they'd do that, especially in a game that has micros, but I guess not. I remember buying RE7 on PC and owning it on Xbox as well among other games.

Pretty easy. It checks what you own and will say “you cannot play on this character without buying the expansion on this system too, please pick a different character you cock sucker.”

I don't think so, I don't see D4 in my "library" (as in owned) in the xbox app, I do see it in battlenet but that's because of game pass I reckon because I don't see vessel of hatred on battlenet.

Pretty common for games to just say you need to buy the expansion if you want to do expansion areas and content.

It can either lock that character out of access entirely from the non expansion owning system when you log on, or kick your character back to a base game town and force you to only do base game content.

It’s really you gotta own the expansion on all platforms if you plan to jam on.

I will buy the second platform on sale later next year; but for now I need to stick with one. Likely PC so I can enjoy it on steam deck too.

Microtransactions, cosmetics, and battle pass stuff is cross-platform.
Full DLCs are platform locked and only available on the platform you buy it for.

Once actually in the customization, some of these male selections aren't bad, but the male my defaulted to looks nearly the same as the girl. I thought this was for sure going to be a "never create a male variant of this class" type thing.

Ok, I'm really liking the Spiritborn. Flashy and satisfying attacks. No real legendaries that buff my attacks yet. Only level 15 but so far so good. Also, one of the male faces looks similar to me which is cool.

You do need to complete the first D4 story before you can get access to the new story content from the expansion.

Early thoughts GAF?

1. Can't believe but also not surprised they bungled the launch.
2. Because of timing when it finally went live, I am very tired today.
3. So far though, I really like the new class. By the time I closed my eyes I was probably in the 12 or 13 level range. Spent a while just looking at new skills and then played a couple realmboss events (might be misnaming this).
4. Looking forward to exploring the new area. Hoping to get some hours in tonight if schedule allows.
5. Skins in store still overpriced. Wish they would bring these way down. I bet they'd sell a ton more too.
