i found i had no interest in most of the games on it and if i did i would just outright buy them....i had an ongoing sub until they announced the price increase and i couldnt support that so i unsubbed.

Games that im on the fence about like Outer Worlds 2 are just not enough for me to pay and COD has become a stale cracker so i happily skip them

I do plan to reduce my gamepass sub. I have to see if I can still stream the 360 games if I reduce it.

Yeah. I reduced it to Premium. Ultimate is a rip off. Too expensive.

Cancelled when the Obsidian dude did a whoopsie with all that racist stuff.

Not missing it, nowadays I mostly play old games and those are cheap as fuck anyway.

I never subbed to Gamepass in the first place.

Instead I buy most games many years after they release, when they are on deep Steam sales for 50% off or deeper. I own a mid tier PC and purposefully stay behind the release curve because I feel its a far more value oriented way of gaming.

The result is I spend less money per year buying (and owning) games than what one full year of Gamepass now costs. Gamepass just isn't a good value to me.

Yes, i also sold my Series X and bought a One X (for backwards compatible games in 4k) for a fraction of what i got for my Series.

No way in hell i am paying over 30 bucks a month when i play maybe 2- 3 games a year.

Was subbed for 3 years using the xbox live gold trick, runs out now next month.

Done with Microsoft.

Got to play Persona 3 Reloaded, Ninja Gaiden 4, Oblivion Remastered, lots of cool games and found many indies that i never would have touched otherwise. PSO2 got brought over to the west in the One X days, such a fun time!
Play anywhere initative was also realy great with cross progression when i was traveling. So not just negative things to say, but MS is done, Xbox is done. No reason to invest a penny more into the ecosystem.

Yeah I cancelled my PC Game Pass this month. I also sold my Xbox Series X last year.

I'd rather buy games at this point. I'm trying to hold off for sales now, too. I tend to appreciate them more when I buy them, since I'm financially invested.

We also just cancelled all of our streaming services, except for YouTube TV and YouTube Premium.

Same thought: we'd rather buy movies or series we care about. Or if we REALLY want to watch something, we'll subscribe for a month and cancel.

My subscription ends at the end of January. I've had a sub for years -thanks $1 upgrade - and it's just not worth it for me. Avowed and COD are the only things I ever really used in all that time. That's not even a plus for me now, because I did not enjoy BO7 when I tried it this weekend.

I won't be paying for it once my sub ends in 2028. I had been using MS rewards for it but now that there's no incentive to do that I'll just let it go. $30 per month for ultimate is just too expensive for how I play now.

Not yet, I still need to complete Outerworlds 2 and a few of these little games they put up.
I got the bill for the price increase a few days ago.
PC Gamepass
October $12.98
November $17.85

That's too much. I think I'm going to pull the plug 1/2026.
I've been with Gamepass since the very start. Did several years of the Gold 1$ Conversion for Ultimate before eventually paying monthly when the Series X launched.
in 2023 I sold the Series X and bought a new PC and switched to PC Gamepass, as it was cheaper and had most all the games. But this new price increase I think I'm done. :(

I probaly played way more games than most people on this forum because of Gamepass. Many really good games and many decent games and yes, lots of time waste games.
If you never had Gamepass you missed out. A few games I liked so much I bought them before they left Gamepass. Was the best way to try before you buy.

If they had kept the PC Gamepass price where it was, I probably would have stayed, but I have other monthly bills that have also gone up. :(

Bye Gamepass, It was fun.

Yes, but I'd been on and off GP for a while anyway. I had just resubbed to play Silksong and NG4, and like a week later they announced the price hike. NG4 isn't my kind of game anyway, so I quit it and unsubbed.
Shame, because for me GP was never about the Halos and the CODs. It was about some not-so-big games, and for trying out all those smaller games that I don't want to risk €15 on. And it was really great for that.

I think me and my bro still have until next year or even 2027 and then we'll just go for it again. When you pay 50/50 it's still a very good deal. Had this not been possible i very likely would have only subbed to GP now and then when dope shit is dropped on it.

I cancelled and then I got it back cause I felt the PC gamepass is still a pretty good deal. When that price increases I'll likely bounce.

Lots of arguments happened, lots of things were said. It's clear that Microsoft isn't going to back down. Did you cancel your gamepass subscription? I have 3 days left on my pc gamepass sub and I'm starting to get a bit anxious, I need some support.
Yup, I'm done with subscriptions services in general. Going to continue to buy my games.

$30 per month to rent games is just ridiculous imo.

I tried it when Ultimate was cheap long ago, but I let the sub lapse. There wasn't enough there, and the experience with Windows Game Store was unbelievably bad. I don't miss it one bit.

No I still let my Game Pass roll(PC). But I probably should cancel it, atleast for a while, since I do not play anything from their library at the moment.

But, there are still games on it I want to play, I don't have the time and feeling/motivation to play them right now though.

I bought a 2-month subscription for the first time in years (2nd month was free). The games aren't all that great. I'm not going to renew it at all.

i had a sub for 18 months when i first owned my series s (2021-2022). basically exhausted the existing catalog (it was sizable but not actually all that huge, especially if you're not into indies), & then re-subbed for just one month when starfield came out. bought what i liked, & haven't missed it at all...

I actually resubbed today to ultimate to try cloud gaming thinking it would be like GeForce now. Using a high end pc and little to no input delay, clear graphics etc.

Wrong. 100% giga fucking wrong. I found out after it's mimicking a fucking Xbox series S. Couple that with bluriness and input delay and why does this even fucking exist?

Cancelled immediately thinking I'm out $30, but at least Microsoft automatically refunded the full amount.

Based.

Yes, I did cancel. And I had it nonstop since day one. To be fair, It being cheap and stackable was the only reason I was current up to now, but I barely used it and not paying more to this shit company for the occasional game. I could literally buy every game I've played on GP in the last three years for less money than 3 years of GP will cost in that same time. And I'll own them, so what's the point?

Still got 15 months left (thought it was longer oh well) from using reward points so not yet. Ask me again this time next year.

No I forgot. I tried on my phone, couldn't work out how, and read I should do it via the console. But I've not booted it up since the announcement

I had cancelled before the price hike (Had Ultimate) with the idea that i'd resub after something else came out. But now I'm not gonna even though I want to play Outer Worlds 2.. but I'll just wait for a sale.

I did (ultimate) and not just that.
I removed my card from the store as default payment.
Then i tried to buy a game a la carte from the xbox store, but for some reason they won't accept my card (the same card i used to pay for gamepass until now) , because apparently data are incorrect (they aren't) .
So basically i can't give them money anymore even if i wanted.

What a shitty as company.

Coming to the end of a few multi year stacks. I paid for 3 subs for years at around $70/yr each. It was an awesome run, but between EGS and Prime Gaming I'm getting buried in free games, not to mention key sites and cheap shark.

It's sad, but all good things come to an end eventually. We had a great run.

Never had one, i don't buy a game every month so it's not worth it for me, i can see why gamers like it, but the more expensive it get's i think they will like it less and less, i have a large back log anyway.

Had Ultimate. Used it on both the Xbox and occasionally on the PC. When the price increased I cancelled. I'd had Gamepass for around 6 or 7 years at the point I cancelled it.

If you actually game a reasonable amount every month instead of posting LOL emoji on Gaf (get help) then it's more than worth the fee.
I personally think they've crossed the price threshold where GPU is no longer a must have. The (more than) doubled price compared to the next tier (Premium) is just too large a jump.

Having said that, Premium is still a good shout. Especially when you factor in that you still need to be on at least the Essential tier if you want to play online.
