Yeah. I kept my comments neutral, as I'm not a fan of the franchise, and don't care to rankle any nerves. I'm more eager to see what Sony's studios deliver this gen, personally. They're sure to leverage any advantages the PS5 has in their games. I can't wait.
I don't mind giving the nod to the XSX when I think it's due. While I like that the PS5 is flexing at 120Hz, I just have no use for that mode, and I'm not sure how practical it will end up being. But still a nice feather in the cap. VGT didn't show the same cutscenes that DF did, where the PS5 fell behind in RT mode, so I'm curious to know if that's something that is persistent for cutscenes, or just the 2 scenarios that DF was able to spot. Both machines handle the game well, so everyone should conceivably be happy.

VGT did and mentioned that those scenes drop frame rates randomly. Sometimes, PS5 drops the frames. Sometimes, it's a locked 60. So there's obviously some bug.
Mr. PlayStation here said that he was able to resolve this issue by turning off the gameplay 4K recording feature. Once he turned it off, it was a locked 60. Confirmation from other members who have the game would be great.

Yes the lead platform they spent months hand tweaking for maximum performance has "random" bugs. It is more likely the neglected versions PC and series x have performance bugs. The easiest console ever my grandma could do it with months of extra special attention is totally the buggy version lol. Any fix is more special hand tuning only Sony gets.

I think there are a few bugs in the video. That light is there in the XSX version, and then disappears when the bulb itself comes into frame. You can see the reflection of the light, as well as the glare, come into frame from offscreen, but as soon as the bulb enters the frame, the light goes out. I think it's a bug. More than enough of those in both launch lineups.

Lol you do realize that the game didn't have any drops in these scenes at all until a later patch messed up the code, right?
It shipped just fine. The issue came after the patch.

That shadow is in 1 frame then is gone lol, those screenshots are the worst cherry picking I've seen in the last days.
Those set-pieces will never be 100% identical, they have different shadow, different explosions etc.
Only things that is strange and is missing is the muzzle but it's a very minor thing.

Double checked frame by frame. You're correct. That bulb also flickers on and off in the PS5 version. Weird bugs!

I can't say for sure that solves it, but that is what i did. I think i did this before the software stability update came out. Let me boot up cold war again on PS5 and try these very same levels DF has pointed out for frame rate dips. That one mission with the dust flying off in the night(set piece moment), that one you can actually visibly notice and feel the frame rate dip to 40s. Will try out this too, wish I had software tools to analyze frame rates

Man this thread is nuts to watch. So many incorrect things mentioned.
- Performance on PS5 was likely after the firmware update. comparing it to the results of COD tests from BEFORE that firmware may not be valid anymore.
- the XBOX S model has Ray tracing available, DF admitted to missing it (or a bug)
- Performance issues are NOT only in cutscenes. The DF video showed performance drops during gameplay
- Anecdotal accounts of frame drops rarely happening, just proved that most of these small frame rate changes are NOT noticeable unless there is a big drop
- VRR does account for something and should not be ignored if one platform can't use it at the moment
- Some elements like grass or smoke or explosions, or fire have random elements in them. They likely can't be directly compared as one may be rendering more than the other
- Taking single frame screenshots to prove one console has a higher frame rate, or "wins" doesn't prove anything.
- People are over reacting to games early this gen
- DF is not biased towards Xbox or Playstation
- NX gamer is not biased towards Xbox or Playstation
- The only people truely biased are those that are all up in arms in this forum or twitter accusing others of bias

If you've played the game or actually watched the video you'll know they aren't cut scenes. Cut scenes you have no control, the stages with the plane and remote control car and the stage you're running through the building are playable.

Ive said it before. There are a lot more stupid made up posts in this thread from sony fans. Just look at the amount of screenshots. The ones that show PS in a favorable light outnumber the favorable xbox ones by quite a bit. The xbox side is just as dumb but at least there are half as many dumb posts because half as many fans.

I prefer IW's character models and most of their campaigns (BO3 campaign was dog shit and 4 was MIA), but BO2 was one of the best CoDs.

Yup. VGTech told about those frame drops a week ago. Sometimes they happen. Sometimes it's just a locked 60 FPS on PS5.

I don't know what console you have, but maybe RT on MP runs better on the PS5?
