Digital Foundry: Final Fantasy 15 PS4 vs PS4 Pro Gameplay Frame-Rate Test

Man, I've been playing the game in Lite mode on the Pro, and it's super nice, just as dark10x said. Really enjoying the game, although it would be nice if they fixed the HQ mode.

I did get a generic response to my support email about frame pacing saying they had forwarded it to the relevant people, hopefully they actually meant it.

Yeah, no. That is basically automation response. Don't get your hopes up. I'm pretty sure I'll get the exact message you did.

I just watched 4 minutes in the OP and can't see any difference at all with this "frame pacing" stuff. Weird.
I can, it's there. But if you can't see it, don't go looking into more detailed explanations on what to look out for, ignorance is bliss in these kinds of matters.

Thankfully for me, while I was hyper aware of it in the beginning when playing (especially after switching back and forth between the modes), after playing in HQ mode for more than 10 minutes, I got used to it and was able to basically ignore it and have been enjoying the HQ mode so far, 16 hours in.

I haven't been able to see it much in YouTube videos either but it was very noticeable while playing. Much more so than Bloodborne was

Tried to adapt to the framepacing of HQ but I just can't, I always end up going back to LQ mode.
So much better, and tbh, I don't notice that much the visual improvements , not as much as the framepacing that's for sure.

To be honest, watching video I would rather not bother with framepacing, it's more prevalent looking at line graph than the game itself. I am sensitive to that and it did bother me slightly in the first half of Bloodborne (giant bonfire area ) , but what I can see here doesn't look very bad.
Having said that, I need to experience it myself and without 4K TV I will go with Lite anyway

So, what are the chances that the incoming 1.05 patch (February 21) fixes the frame pacing problems for the PS4 pro high mode and the base ps4?
Why aren't they using the adaptive v-sync that the xbox one version uses? Surely this would be an easy fix. Why not give users the ability to choose the adaptive v-sync option?

Hate to jinx it, but don't expect a fix for frame-pacing. Always expect the worse.
