Lots of Bungie apologist in here. I wonder how many have been life long M$ and Xbox fans. I use open office.
I actually laughed at the OpenOffice namedrop!

Real-world performance logical nonsense, okay. So you'd rather take his non-console "real-world performance logical nonsense" instead of actual real-world performance differences between the hardware, in the manner of many games rendering at a significantly higher resolution on PS4 than XB1, higher framerates in some cases, graphical features on PS4 missing on XB1, etc.
I don't believe the myth that the PS4 is 40%/50% more powerful than the XB1 - most devs say the PS4 has little or slightly more powerful hardware but in real terms they are close.
The reason the early titles were 1080p on PS4 and 720/900p on XB1 was down to the poor XB1 sdk that it launched with compared the PS4 sdk.
Don't believe the media hype and fanboy rubbish, do your research from the devs that code the games, this will give you a more accurate assessment of the two consoles.
I think the next AC and COD will be a good test
Anyone who praises parity and also criticizes a critic of parity is a hypocrite.
Surely not, that would be hypocritical. Anyone who's hypocritical of hypocrites is a critic of critics. I think.
I say this as someone who owns a PS4 and not an Xbone.
Not every game needs to use a systems full power, nor does it need to reach top end visual qualities. The suggestion that it does, is ridiculous at best, completely laughable at worst.
I would wager that on every console ever made, there are more games that do not use a systems full capabilities, than there are games that do. Thousands of them. This is console warrior nonsense.
So PS4 owners should be content in knowing that the game is not pushing the console's capabilities, but is capped by a console with a ~40% technical inferiority? That's like buying a PC game and turning the settings down a few notches even when your PC can play the game at highest with ease.
I'm not saying that every game needs to push the graphical bar up, but if there is considerable head room left (as is in this case) it should be utilised rather than just left unused.
So *Any Platform* owners should be content in knowing that the game is not pushing the console's capabilities.
PS4 owners have no clue if a game is pushing the machine or not. There are many different factors that affect performance.
My brain just melted.Surely not, that would be hypocritical. Anyone who's hypocritical of hypocrites is a critic of critics. I think.

Disgraceful. Bungie must still have some deep rooted ties to M$ for them to force parity onto such a huge game as this. One that is basically exclusive to PS4, even. THe PS4 is 40% more powerful the the Xbox loss and Bungie is not taking advantage of it why? It should be 60fps on PS4 but Halo posters still hang from the walls of Bungies bathroom for them to jerk off to and they can't bring themself to make a proper game.
The logic is that if there is parity between Xbox and PS4, the game cannot be pushing the console.
So the game isn't pushing the console. It's cross-gen so they obviously had to hold the game back somewhat for that. Most likely what Bungie did was set a bar that they were going to aim for for PS4 and XO. They reached it both consoles.
I'm saying you've already been content with that your entire gaming life.
sorry for tampering with your post, but it was needed to change that PS4 to any platform for the point
Who cares? The game looks great on both consoles.
1.31 TFLOPS vs 1.84TFLOPS that's 530 GFLOPS difference
that's over 40% of the full power of the Xbox One GPU anyone who says that's little or slightly more powerful don't need to be making games in the 1st place.
I bought a trailer for my V16 car and was outraged to find out it didn't eat up all the performance. I didn't buy a powerful car with the intention of setting it in motion, and I will not support lazy shit manufacturers who let their products be held back by tricylinders for "parity". The trailer should come with at least 500kg of extra load for those of us at the better side of the power gap.

Well.
R7 265 is a Pitcairn card... PS4's GPU is a Bonaire with 8 ACEs... PS4's GPU have 1152 SPs and not 1024....
R7 260X is a Bonaire card... Xbone's GPU is a Pitcairn with 2 ACEs... Xbone's GPU have 768SPs and not 896...
You are using a weaker GPU in PS4 side and a strong GPU in Xbone side... even so the difference in framerate is over 30%.

You should honestly put this in the op of every XB1/Ps4 thread to get the parity comments out of the way
Yep, such an accurate analogy lolI got a 40% pay rise in work to £700 a week. But it's not actually that big because there are people who earn a million quid a week...
Double-down all you like, but you're being transparently disingenuous.
Why not address the reality of it? People are upset because Destiny could run better/look better on PS4, and was held back due to X1.
Bungie have chosen a standard graphical quality and they reached that on both platforms. And it looks good for both aswell.
Im glad they were capable to do it! And if I buy their game I will do it for Xbox One now, even though I have a PS4.[/QUOTE]
Color me curious. How come? More "brehs" on XB1?
The machines are much closer than you want to believe. Same Jaguar CPU, GPUs between 1 and 2 TFlops, 8 gigs ram. Let's not act like PS4 is a high end PC in comparison. This is no Xbox-PS2 difference. The logic is that if there is parity between Xbox and PS4, the game cannot be pushing the console.

Same overall architecture but significant performance differences, all well documented. I don't know why people are lying to themselves into believing the differences aren't that large. This is like arguing with a climate change denier: "Global warming doesn't exist, it was cold this morning!"

We don't even know if it is pushing the Xbox one in terms of power. The resolution bump could just rely on efficient esram usage. The logic is that if there is parity between Xbox and PS4, the game cannot be pushing the console.
Wow that's a false equivalency if i ever saw one. Climate change denier, really? There are absolutely differences, and PS4 is stronger. I'm just saying in a real world setting onscreen, the differences are quite small and takes a trained eye to notice. These are the same class of machines, with PS4 slightly stronger.Same overall architecture but significant performance differences, all well documented. Take that up with the PS3 and the 360.Good job underutilizing the PS4, you mean?

Was early last gen GAF this annoying when PS3 multiplats didn't run like garbage?

Are you saying that many games have not pushed the consoles capabilities in the past and this is a usual thing in gaming? this is a good point.
However, there have never been two consoles with such similar and simple architecture. They are much easier to develop for than prior consoles. They are even compared to as PC setup by devs. Its not like the early ps3 years were devs struggled to rap their heads round the cell and left much to be desired with the ports. They can and should exploit the PS4's power. Additionally I'm not aware of any game which has left as much headroom as is the case here - the ~30/40% power advantage left alone.
Bullshit. It's a cross Gen game. I could easily say the XB1 version got held back by X360/PS3.
It's not a myth, we have the hardware spec on hand. I can't believe people spout nonsense like this after a year.I don't believe the myth that the PS4 is 40%/50% more powerful than the XB1 - most devs say the PS4 has little or slightly more powerful hardware but in real terms they are close.
