Digital Trends: While the PlayStation 5 had immediate appeal, the Xbox Series X feels more and more like the best long-term choice this generation.

Fuck the internet in 2021

With the Bethesda adquisición it is a possibility. But it depends on the future plans of that branch and how much you love Howard and Id games.

Bethesda, ID...nuff said. That said, uh, I'm getting a PS5 to start and I'll be hoping that their games are just timed exclusives.

"When new consoles came out in November, the PlayStation 5 seemed like the clear-cut favorite. But the more time that passes, the more the Xbox Series X's long-term value is coming into focus and making it this generation's true must-have system."

This will be like going into a Holocaust museum and singing Throw the jew down the well....

That's how you know this was purchased. The buzzword got in. I'm not reading that shit, but does it say "pro-consumer" somewhere in it as well?

I'm not so sure about that...it looks like this coming gen both systems will have a lot of great exclusives.Fanboys are gonna have a hard time I think, lol.

OP, it would be nice if you highlighted what these long term appeal points are......Or in the here and now, what is shaping XBOX to be the long term king.....Was it something that happened between launch and now...It would be nice to expound and reveal the long term appeal for XBOX in point form in the OP...

Not going to disagree with them (to each their own), but they make a super weak argument. Nothing in this (short) write up even perks up my ears, let along peaks my interest.

Game Pass will be a beast by the end of this gen

Very Possibly. But also possible it looks more like Netflix these days.... which is a husk at best that is padded with "original content". GP looses most of its appeal when games start rotating out more often (which they will as more alt services pop up). Not sure why everyone is counting these chickens when all I see are eggs.

Not looking to buy any consoles this gen (so far). But I would definitely main and Xbox Series X. Feels like the hardware has more room to grow and I really enjoy gamepass. Also, love me some Bethesda games.

I have both systems. I play XSX more since December with Call of the Sea and Hivebusters. With the Medium coming out this month, that trend will continue. PS5 only has Returnal coming out in March, and no solid release dates for anything else. XSX will get stronger with time, as the studio acquistions start pushing out games on what has potential be, more capable hardware. At the end of the day, this doesnt mean PS5 is inferior, PS5 will continue to be an amazing system but not as dominant over XSX as it was initially led to believe.

To be honest, that article is crap: the title is the most clickbaity thing possible, and then he list the unification of his "gaming environment" as the reason, which imo is a little thing compared to the games available on each system.

But if we look at the title or the article alone, I guess I can agree. Gamepass adds a lot of value compared to a bunch of 80€ games.

Nothing wrong with folks working hard to put food at the table. With that said.... :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Ahah indeed the desperation for views/hits with controversial trash articles is real.
What has changed from November to now?
What has become apparent that wasn't before?
Don't give hits to these people, it's the only reason they write this stuff.

Your making an ill-advised prediction, and then said "not sure why everyone is counting these chickens when all i see are eggs"

The author focuses on the advantages of the new ecosystem, for example he can take a screenshot in-game, open his Xbox app on his phone and quickly share it to Twitter without pausing the cutscene, because that's what really matters when playing a game - social media on your fucking phone. :messenger_winking:

Generally, this is quite a mediocre article, I could provide much better arguments to justify such a thesis, each of us could.

??? I start with "Very possible" then lay out some caution... then end with "it could go either way"..... not sure who that isn't consistent thought.

Just about all content services of the modern era lose content as more players enter the market, so by that logic, GP will also lose some content. Whether or not that degrades the value proposition is in the eye of the beholder. I personally do not "invest" in services like this for that very reason. If you do, and are happy, more power to you.
