I'm still a bit whiny about this but any ETA on Phoenix coming into the game?
Where is thunder? Why is thunder taking so long to come back? Why am I not playing thunder right now?
I can't give out any details on roster updates. You'll just have to be patient while we roll them out over the coming weeks.
This is something that we're certainly discussing and working on improving. I can't provide exact specifics right now, but we hope to have some news soon for everyone as a general update on this specific topic.
Thanks! I'm the producer off to the side, so you may hear me laugh once in a while over their mics. We try to have a bunch of fun in each stream, give away a handful of codes, and answer as many questions as we can.

Can you add alt-firing modes to weapons? These burst fire weapons just feel so underpowered when everything has such great accuracy even when you hold down M1.

Burst fire weapons are for people who like weakening the enemy so other people can finish them off and get all the glory. They are super hype team play weapons.

I've never had trouble using the burst fire weapons. But I haven't used them much since the game came on steam and they've been tweaked to become weaker at least twice. Tweaked in a way we didn't want them to be tweaked, by reducing their damage, and not just simply making them more difficult to use.
Just give them a bit of money. Absolutely worth it!
Or tune into streams. I've won: 2 Elite Starter Packs, 1 Regular Starter Pack, 1 Sparks Code, 1 Nader Code. I gave them all to Kudochop to give away though

I can see myself doing that, but only when I've played more to try and find the char I like more than any other. Right now, I jump between char too much.

Finally - now I won't get a lead card from a case like normal.
Game needs more maps, mercs, and a balance pass. I know people have said it's balanced around stopwatch but that mode is so awful I don't even want to do my missions for it. Got a shitty team? Well have fun playing twice as long with them, and hope nobody leaves because you're losing.
I would also like to see larger modes with special ability cooldown nerfs to cut down on spam. Capture the Flag seems like a perfect match for this game.

Stoker, supply + molotov
Phoenix, medic + self revive + AOE heal
phantom, recon + stealth + melee focused
red eye, recon + smoke grenade + IR vision to see through smoke + highlight targets
Thunder, assault + flashbang grenades
2 more stopwatch/objective maps
Dome, I like this map since there are 3 stages like trainyard but more choice and it is a bigger map as well.
And there is another I don't recall the name and it hasn't been tested outside of alpha afaik

The other thing to keep in mind is that as more mercs are released, perhaps weaker or stronger mercs shift in strength as different synergies go into effect. They have stated they do plan on doing a lot of balance tweaks during open beta.

I cant wait for Vasilli to leave free rotation. Sniping just encourages camping. Playing chapel the other night and we got the EV literally within about 2-3 seconds worth of escorting time until it hit the last stop. With only a minute or so to go i was pretty much the only person on the team even trying to get the EV across the line. I sprinted from the start of the map right to the EV with seconds to go and died heroically pushing it a second closer, while hordes of vasillis stood around doing nothing but going HURR HURR IM A SNIPER DRRRRRR. One Vasilli was within a few feet of the EV but too busy trying to get in some leet sniping action to bother trying to get the fuckign thing over the line.
I love objective based games but god damn, i think most of the people who play them have no clue how2objective.
Still, im only a couple of thousand off being able to afford Kira, so its all good

I can see why they push stopwatch as their competitive format but it can just be too frustrating for casual play. There is just no incentive to rebalance teams or stay in game if you are being stomped.
I didn't really play over the weekend to try execution but that seems like a mode added to make the game more familiar to CS players. Possibly they could add some sort of king of the hill mode with multiple objectives. I don't know.
For spam it would be good if they added friendly fire servers for people who want it.

I know what you mean, but there's a couple things you can do.
1) Find friends to play with. This is an incredibly organization-heavy game that is going to play wonky without that element.
2) Start playing matchmaking, and accept that there is going to be growing pains while people learn the game. Once more people start queuing, the game will be able to more accurately match people against each other.
I agree on it needing more mercs though. I think once RedEye, Stoker, and Phoenix are in the game, it will be well on its way to a better game. Though, it could just make 8v8s worse.
If you're absolutely set against stopwatch, at least play 6v6 objective. The game gets way better the closer to 5 people you get.
I'd say any game mode for this game outside of DM is incredibly wonky in Pubs.
People don't really play CS pubs for DE maps, that's what MM is for. Same thing here.

Also when joining a match in progress, can you choose your character before you spawn?

I got a gold Aura.
Looks like a bleh roll on buffs. Are the difference between loadout card tiers just that certain buffs can be on higher tier cards? I'll probably stick to my loadout that has healing bonus or radius than this. I hardly ever melee, and fall. At least it rolled Aura and not someone I don't have.

Not really that much into CS GO but the normal maps in pubs are pretty much the only experience that most people ever had with CS before. DE type maps worked well enough for pub servers, much better than stopwatch. But that wasn't a setup where you were locked into playing a series of games to get an overall winning team.

The lifeblood of F2P games is going to be people that just quickjoin into pubs for fun, without an army of friends to play with and pub stomp others. If it's not fun for them, the game never gets off the ground. People don't seem to give two shits about team composition, which makes 5v5 play problematic.
The maps and mercs are fun, but the modes and weapons are the least compelling part of the game.
Has to be when I'm out of town too.

Ugh.lol, player on server running with Rhino killing everyone left and right. At least no secret was made out of his habits, haha. Hopefully they can fix this.
They do seem to be getting worse as of late.
Yeah, but I'm also a firm believer that the insistence of pubs is the very thing that keeps FPS games from being able to be as skill based as they can be. I'm dead set on Matchmaking being the thing that allows for a game to have a ridiculously high skill ceiling, as it can then place similarly skilled players in a game to not scare away new folks. The success of Dota/LoL is where I draw that from.

The game has matchmaking only with no server browser and there is still the "problem" of people wanting to play solo and not play a game mode where they are stuck in a match for a long time because teams are unbalanced. Dota and lol have a large competitive scene that people care about but if people didn't want to play those games because they are boring or too frustrating then they would not have the scene. Although personally I do find Dota 2 both boring and too frustrating.

*whine*edit: Actually, I did get an elite case when I started playing the Steam version for the first time, which probably was around the first scheduled event. Maybe that was it?
What characters are considered good purchases? I got Proxy with my first 30K, and looking at Sawbonez next. Maybe I'm overlooking the ones that are currently in rotation though, like the turret guy, hmm.
