The item world room? Throwing meat? What? xD

I'm talking about the mushrooms in regular maps though. The ones with status names. How do those work?
oh there is a item world mystery gate that leads to a mushroom room with a ton of them. they all do what they say they do they work like prinnies and explosives you throw them at the enemies. remember tier 5 and 6 enemies are immune to status ailments.

the mushroom room is popular for the 5 peices of meat you can throw. those meats can boost your level by multiples.

It's 5% specifically. Nice if you don't want to do any duping or excessive grinding, also lets you level a ton of characters at once since the area is two squares.

That's interesting. Too bad I'm past the point where they'd be useful. That would have helped during the main story I'm sure.

So, after 20 or so minutes of reloading, I got a legendary R39 emblem and R40 monster weapon from what'shisface. I am officially set to camp in Item World.

Are there any special tricks I should know about getting my items to level 300?

Well, I'm doing the last Chara Worlds to get to 300% and then Reincarnating back down to Level 1. She won't hit 300% in every class just due to some having sub-105% Aptitudes but I'm going to work on that now so it'll ideally cap every class.

PSN ID is Scy46, since I'm an idiot and forgot to mention it. Should be around for the next hour or so to add people. You can meet it without adding me but it's easier with me as a Friend since you can limit the Pirates to just Friends.

I assume your PSN ID is your GAF name? I'll send the request.

A VERY novice Disgaea fan here, I can capture your Android? How do I go about doing that?

1) You'll need to be able to MAKE a Tier 6 Android. I'll probably sub it down to a different class later since not everyone has it unlocked. As it stands, that's what she is.

2) Merely run into my Pirates and throw her in the Base Panel. You'll need the Discipline Room Evil Symbol before you can do this but that only requires you to throw 3 Enemies, I believe, to unlock that bill.

3) Apparently, she's being kind of evil and not going down as easy as she should but if you fulfill the requirement to make her, she should be capturable.

Wait so you can get both the level 9 bonus and the level 10 bonus (from removing all of the geocubes) on the same run of Chara World?

Scy can you send me a friend request too? PSN ID is the same as my GAF user name.

Edit: Oh wait I just saw your PSN ID, I'll try adding you.

Yo Scy, you know the answer to this?

Take her back to Tier 1 Android. With 80% maxed to 300%, that should cover every other class.

Yes.

Since I'm going to be hopping through Item World a lot, I'll try to capture ten of those Androids and make a Pirate Crew so people can mass capture, just to speed things up a bit.

E: Oh goodness, I just saw that DLC is slated for November! I need someone to freeze me in a block of ice until then.

They work with them; do remember they're not completely permanent, though. Once you start using serums, never reincarnate again.

If you're asking where you get dual stats, you make them by taking to stat Innocents and a Mediator Innocent; with all three in an item, you should have a chance of seeing the marriage event in Innocent Town that will give you a new Innocent. If it's not the dual stat (or not the one you wanted), reload.

Sniper is the only dual stat you cannot get this way, due to either design or a bug. You must subdue Mystery Innocents for that one.

Take her back to Tier 1 Android. With 80% maxed to 300%, that should cover every other class.

That's my plan to finish it up, I was just dead tired last night. The ~25% needed for all other stats is another few hours of Chara World so that last bit should be done tonight, unless I just start up Dark Souls :/

My other plan is to just have a boat full of 300% characters of various classes or something.

You can't make Snipers? That sounds like a bug. It's cool that they work, though.

And no, I was asking about where to get serums, though that was a very ill-formed question on my part.

Oh, lol. Serums are found in the Tower Cat room; it's the room with the two giant towers that you need to jump up with an at least 6000-7000-ish Valvatorez. The cat that sells them should be at the very top of the tower.

Ah, okay. So one more thing to look for while in Item World.

Awesome Scy, I'll send you a friend request tonight.

Will the 300% aptitude character help with the 10 billion damage trophy or is there another specific setup I need to work towards? I've seen some posts about using Desco on a custom map, problem is I've really neglected her after I got Big Bang with everyone. Even with perfect Crowbar/Traps I'm not sure she'll do enough damage.

Completely missed this. I have a topic at GameFAQs that covers basically the entire process of perfecting an item and the what to do where to get your equipment to max out your offensive stats without wasting bills, Innocent slots, and so-on. It's a bit long and wordy or else I'd just copy and paste it over to here :/

It should. Get it to Level 9999 and equipped to get max offensive stats (or as high as you can take it) and just go blow some Level 1 up. Stack damage multipliers as much as you can (i.e., stack the Shaman Elemental debuff to drop an enemy to -99% Elemental Resistances and then hit with an S-Rank Elemental attack with the Elemental Force Evilty) and you should be fine.

Hmm, looking over trophies, it seems I missed a character. Oops.

This is awesome, thanks.

Alright, one last question about serums. Do salves and remedies do the same thing? They all have the same description so I'd assume so.

Now I'm tempted to start a second cycle to capture that android of yours. Maybe after I reverse pirate enough innocents and build up some decent gear for my characters. I'm really slow at grinding post game content.

Well, as of right now, I apparently hit the PSN Friend Cap so trying to figure out a work-around for this. Besides that, she's a Low Ranking Pirate (~560 Power) so you can at least target that range for finding her.

If you know someone you added just to get her has her, you could get rid of them to make room for someone else. Like maybe the people that said they'd mirror her have her already?

Probably. We'll see, I suppose.

Besides, I'm at work right now so I can't actually do anything for it right now anyway :/

I dont have her yet I have some work to do before i can get her (non game related work)

Twin, Rival, and Archenemy would all work but now we're getting really, really convoluted; I included Blight House since it's very simple, y'know?

And all the Serums, Salves, and Remedies should function the same.

Let me know when you get the tier 1 Android up, if you do do it!

I think I'll restart the cycle if you are able to. What's the fastest way to get through story mode a second time, a high movement army of Masked Heroes and Moths?

So what carries over?
  • I'm guessing All of the generic characters, and the story characters but you need to get them by going through the story.
  • Do all of the bills you passed for evil symbols and everything else carry over as well?
  • Is MoO still open?

All your generics carry over. You'll get the story characters back in the same condition they left after you do the appropriate battle.

Your bills stay, except for MoO. I think you can repass it right from the start though.

Awesome and awesome.

I don't think Twin is too convoluted. Well, I guess putting in that post would be. xD There's a lot of stuff there. I'll be doing it though.

You keep all characters, though all story/post-game characters have to be re-unlocked (I believe you keep
Prinny Kurtis
, but his recruitment flags are reset if you don't have him); they'll come when you unlock them normally and will return with the Levels, equipment, skills, etc. that you had when you started the New Game+.

You do have to reclear the stages to get Mt. Ordeals, though; the Bill itself is only a 7000 Mana requirement (no story progress) so you can pass it again from the start. Though, now that I say it, I'm not sure if you re-pass it at all actually.

Also, if you haven't unlocked the Land of Carnage yet, take the opportunity here to capture all the classes you need for it (2-3 of each, ideally). When you start a new cycle, clear X-Dimension 1-1 or another really easy map. Now, torture the enemies, save, and then Find Treasure; the chest will pop on X-Dimension 1-1 always if it's the only map cleared and it's an easy to reach chest. Reload until you get the P Flonzor parts.

Hell, I'd do this with any capturing you want to get done, really; a lot easier to get through them all when you can just force the spawn to a one-action clear map.

Twin maybe not so much, since it's one stat that it acts on, but Rival/Archenemy changes calculations everywhere. I mean, if we get both Rival and Archenemy going, the required stat drops to something stupid low where I think you're capping with just four Level 300 Rank 40 equipment slots period (i.e., no Bills, Innocents).

Ok, so I seriously think the algorithms that determine damage are just messed up in 4. I keep getting1-2 killed by enemies at half my level with half my stats. There also seems to be more often than 3 that instead making the enemies hard, they just make the geo squares irritating.

Whoa whoa, Twin only works on one stat? I thought it would be across the board stat boost.

There's a lot of factors here; the formula is actually less ridiculous than 3 (in the sense that DEF actually does something to the formula) but there's still a lot of multipliers in play that more-or-less begin to just flat out trump DEF.

Also, Level is basically irrelevant. Nothing in the damage formula uses it :/

Master Milk said:

Twin should just be a DEF Boost; been awhile since I tested it but I'm pretty sure even it's listed bonus when you establish it says just DEF. Otherwise, it'd be a lot better since it's, what, +60%?

Aww, that's useless then. xD I was just going by the description on Gamefaqs. It just reads stat boost, so I thought it'd be across the board. I guess that would be way too easy though.

So . . . I've got a Trap sitting in Rosen waiting to be bought . . . It's at 1 hl. Is that because of this Broker I have on it?

Nah, it's just worth so much that the price rolls over to 1HL. It can overflow even more and go back up, though, I believe.

L.O.L. This game is too much sometimes. I guess this is the perfect item to dupe.

Just as an update, I suppose, my Pirates have been (re)uploaded, now with a guaranteed 300% Aptitudes in all stats for any Tier 6 class. In the event you keep her as an Android, she'll have an additional 10 points to allocate as well (220 instead of 210) due to reincarnating into the same class 10 times in a row. Either way, all her base stats are at ~94 so reincarnating at 9999 into any class will still net you the maximum possible Yellow Bars (40).

And now, Dark Souls for a bit. HOORAY.

scy

Well, quite a few people at GameFAQs have started uploading back my Pirates so you don't need to rush if you don't want to do so. I'm going to spend some quality time with Dark Souls before I get back to Disgaea 4.

Or I'll do it tomorrow, because I'm weak willed like that.

It took me a little while (about 30 floors or so), but I finally found your pirate last night. I'll be reupping your Android as well if any LTTP GAFfers can't get through on your friend list.

Defeated LoC
Pringer X
and got my 10 billion damage trophies, so now all I have left is the item/weapon/pirate ship collection trophies. Which are going to have to wait because Dark Souls.

In D3 there was something that could make an item's effective range larger by 1. So you could use a serum on 5 people instead of just 1. Was that an evility or something else?

Is there something like that in D4? I plan on using serums and want to get the most out of them.

Reports from the JP version says it works with serums; likewise, it even works if you were to Fuse a monster and surround it:

Code:
[_][_][X][_][_]
[_][X][T][X][_]
[X][T][T][T][X]
[_][X][T][X][_]
[_][_][X][_][_]

T = Fused Monster
X = Character(s) affected

First time playing a Disgaea game. I'm 30 hours in and just started chapter 5. Pretty overwhelming game for someone new to the series but it's ok, I think I understand how most of the things work.

I have one question though. When you are at the senate hearing and you give an item to a senate to change his/her vote, does he/she stay that way for future hearings?

Also a Disgaea virgin, but the answer I believe is no. You'll have to rebribe/sleep/drunk them all again.

Finally got a few hits on my pirates and my foreign minister, made me feel happy - but I then realized my pirates were old characters I haven't used for awhile. And not my higher level guys, need to change that.

Loving the game so much and caved and looked at how to level faster on the internet.

Does anyone have a basic guide on the item world for me? I really don't understand how/what to capture innocents and how to use them properly. I'd like to get cracking on getting some rank 31+ item (know I have to get to floor 95 of a legendary) but am then confused on how the innocents stuff works.

Yes and no. Whatever bribes you give them count for future bills but it does go down over time as you pass bills. Additionally, each Bill has a modifier on them that makes them easier/harder to pass so you can get a bunch to Love<3 on some bill and then see them in a later one down to Loathe immediately. They have the same amount of affection, for lack of a better term, towards you but the bill itself just temporarily changes it for that bill.

If you want to spend the time bribing them, just go to Embezzle Funds; they're all set to be dead set against the bill so anybody you get to Love<3 there will pretty much be at Love<3 for every other bill in the game. Plus, canceling out of this bill is pretty cheap on your Mana.

This process is a lot easier when you have the Rosen Queen Co. Evil Symbol since that lets you buy the items that most of them prefer (Muscles, Orbs, Glasses, Shoes namely).

Not sure if there's a base guide but basically, you subdue ("capture") Innocents by killing them when you see them in the Item World; don't worry, the game points out when they appear. It is random, though, so there's a chance you just never run into them. You'll know an Innocent is subdued when the face next to their name is the yellow happy face instead of the red angry face. When you subdue an Innocent, their value is doubled as well (i.e., 100 becomes 200).

As for the Floor 95 bit, that's for I assume the Innocent Boost item. Basically, Disgaea 4 has a new feature in the Item World in the routes. The Innocent Boost route (the smiley face marked Gates you see on Floors 5, 10, 15, 20, etc.) grant a bonus 10% to their subdued bonus up to a maximum of +190% (i.e., 100 becomes 390) from 19 total Gates.

The Innocent Boost item takes advantage of this and the new Enforcer Innocent which allows you to transfer Unsubdued Innocents. Basically, you move an unsubdued Innocent to this item you took to Floor 96 with 19 Innocent Gates and then subdue it so it goes up to 390% of the value instead of just 200%. Then, you move another unsubdued Innocent to this item, combine them, and then subdue that. Rinse, repeat.

Normally, the value climbs slowly but doing it this way will let you cap out the stat-boosting Innocents (like, Gladiators) at 19,998 in around 7-10 subdues; normally, you're looking at closer to 100.

As for using Innocents properly, just ... put them on your equipment. There's only a few exceptions (don't put certain Innocents on your Weapon if you plan to use Magichange, for example, since they won't do anything) so don't worry about it too much.

Hm okay, still a bit confusing but I'm going to jump in and learn as I go on some dummy items with your advice as a guideline.

The 95+ floor thing - that's the only place to get the rank 31+ items, correct? Nevermind, quick google reveals I need to get
LoC
which is a long ass way off from where I'm at. I'll focus on leveling up and getting a grasp of the item world in the meantime.

Product Rank 12 - Rank 30 Items
Normal Item World - Rank 34 Items
Land of Carnage Item World - Rank 39 Items normally, Rank 40 from Item Gods (and just the Floor 100 Item God when you first get to Floor 100) in certain items.

As for the Innocent Boosting item, it's not that complicated in practice but feels like it in explanation just due to how wordy it (...I) can get. Basically, you get an item to Floor 96 and Gency out; from Floors 1-95, always take the Innocent Boost gate.

After that, just use Enforcer* Innocents to transfer unsubdued Innocents to that item, subdue them, and then repeat. You'll only ever need just one Innocent Boost item, as long as you never take it to Floor 100 anyway.

*Enforcer Innocents are found on Emblem items (Imperial Seal, Dark Rosary, etc.) uncommonly; not a great spot to get them until 7-3. As for how you use them, just put them on an item (they're always subdued) and then you can use the Transfer command on unsubdued Innocents as if they were subdued.
