Elsa was born with her power, and that's that.
Why not? Still would like to hear how her powers came to be and those trolls. Never liked missing details. Movie just gave a rush feeling to it. At least with Tangled it was explained as to why she had long blond hair and had healing powers.

They just wanted to get rid of all that exposition, which is fair, but they literally just wrote the parents out of the movie with a single scene.
Honestly, it feels like they wanted to keep Do You Want to Build a Snowman and had to build an entire intro sequence around that, and I think the film suffers a bit for it. You could have just started with Elsa being isolated and Anna being afraid of a sister she's never seen before and probably threw in a well-timed flashback if you really needed to try to explain why they were orphaned somewhere later in the movie.I don't see a problem with that. I think it would have been a mistake to expand upon and dwell on it. The film wants to emphasize Elsa and Anna's relationship, not their relationship with their parents. The parents aren't important. Giving them more screentime would have been a distraction to the detriment of the narration.
Out of curiosity do you know what's holding up Aladdin's Blu-ray release in the US? It's already out in the UK.For the most part they are all remastered. I actually know some people who work at the Disney Archives and helped restore most of the Diamond Editions. For almost all of the films (Fantasia being the sole exception) all of the preserved layouts and uncleared cels were references to restore the colors to how they were in their original theatrical formats or how they look to the naked eye. It doesn't sit well with people who grew up with the VHS copies, as many claim it ruined the look of the films, but personally I'd rather see them as close to the original intent as possible. They all look and sound fantastic.
The Diamond Editions also usually have a plethora of special features, deleted scenes, songs, archival commentary from Walt himself, behind the scenes featurettes, are galleries, work in progress versions of the film, etc. Something I wish they'd have kept going was the Cine-Explore option that most early Pixar and Disney Blu-rays had.
If you're a fan of the films, and interested in special features, I highly recommend them.

It's the first time I hear someone say that Do You Want To Build A Snowman should have been cut. I believe that cutting it would be the gravest mistake the directors could have done. The sisters' relationship and its evolution would have greatly suffered from it. Flashbacks rarely work; they feel forced most of the time and hurt the pace. Establishing the relationship between the sisters and killing the parents in the introduction sets the mood perfectly and allows the rest of the film to focus on the sisters, without interruption.
3 years. How much older than Anna is Elsa btw?
3 years.
Elsa is 21, Anna is 18.

There's...hate?I honestly don't get the hate. Obviously not as good as the film version, but it's a totally competent cover.
Pretty much my opinion ^_^I like it. It's not as good as Menzel's rendition, but it's still good, and it's also different and serves as a good "remix" for the film's end credits. I like that they start with a different version of the song instead of the same one we've heard in the film.
I see. Thanks.

Holy crap. He starts off baritone, but then hits every note by the end of the song, full voice. Great cover.
I'm about to watch Frozen in 3D for the first time.
How does that work?Hope you enjoy the 3D more than I did. Found out later my theatre has their 3D settings on low anyway =/
How does that work?
The film is still amazing, the 3D effect, is good, but it is nowhere near Up, it could be the theater though, I can't say for sure before I get my hands on the 3D blu. Speaking of which, Disney really need to get their shit together.Couldn't tell you, I don't work there.

Some funny stuff during the movie, when Hans, there was a girl who said "Wha~" out loud, then we all laughed. And there was a kid crying "Nooo~" whenwas revealed as the villain, that cracked us up.Anna froze
Wow, just, wow. Frozen blew away my expectations. Such a fun, lively, tour de force of music and magic. A glittering white gem that managed to put a smile on my face and laughter in the air. Anna and Elsa are the best Disney Princesses ever. "Let it Go" and the gorgeously crafted animated sequence that portrayed it will forever be one of Disney's finest moments. It's funny the movie is called Frozen, because by the end of it my heart was a warm with love.
