Do NOT buy Matrix Online - Game is broken and unplayable

Sounds like you screwed yourself.

You called once to cancel your 'rebilling', which that did. Then you call AGAIN to cancel an already pending cancelled account.

How many fucking times to I have to explain this?

I cancelled the rebilling. Then less than 10 minutes later they reactivated the rebilling. I then called them again to end the rebilling a second time and the idiot I spoke to the second time cancelled the account completely instead of putting it on pending cancelled like the first person did. When I called them a 2nd time the account was NOT pending cancelled, it was active and the bitch cancelled it instead of putting it back to pending cancelled.

I told them to cancel the recurring billing, which is what the first guy did. I explained this multiple times in this thread. The second retard I spoke to cancelled the 30 days when that is NOT what I requested.

There is no other way to end the recurring billing than to call them and deal with their mentally retarded CSRs. It is not possbile to do it online.

I even asked them if Sega would take the game back and refund my money and they said no. So they are just fucking people out of the money for the MMO.

You sound like the biggest dumbshit in the entire world. What kind of jerry jackass calls to cancel his account on the first day when they have bought an unreturnable game and have the month for "free" anyway? Then you proceede to BITCH that they did exactly what you asked them to do.

It sounds like you have played many online games so the fact that you are SHOCKED that the game is having issues at launch makes you sound even more like a fool who is trying to get attention.

I bet you thought this would make for a good and witty post here on GAF because you see everyone else post "...hur hur hur Matricks and Sega are not in and I make fun and make my Internet friends laugh...duh dum"

Listen Junior Member, next time read the whole thread before jumping in and making personal attacks against another poster.

and you know this how?

Because after they set it to pending closed, the account screen showed that the account was not active.

Less than 10 minutes later the account screen went back to showing as active. I called again to ask about it because I wanted the recurring billing to not happen (I just wanted to play the 30 days and if things worked out, THEN I would activate the recurring billing) and the bitch on the line laughed and explained that the account was showing that it was active again and she CANCELLED the 30 days without putting the account back to pending closed.

So they fucked me out of the 30 day trial I paid for with the game and it's now useless to me. The game deserves to fail with service like that.

Folks please read the whole thread instead of repeating the same goddamn questions we've already had answered... good lord... if you're gonna insult Mana insult him with new material.

did you ever think that the website might have been wrong? that it might not have updated?
did you get a confirmation mail saying that your account was 'Pending Cancelled'?

If you didn't get a confirmation mail saying that your account was pending, then I can see why CSR would be at fault.

Yep:
Please read over this email for information important to your The Matrix Online account.

Dear ************,
This email is being sent to you to confirm one or more activities recently requested for your MxO account. See activity detail(s) below:

Game Account: *********
Your game account status is PENDING CANCELLED

PENDING CANCELLED status indicates you can continue to play the game until the end of your current billing cycle. Once the billing cycle has expired, your account status will change to CANCELLED and you will no longer be able to play the game and will not be billed for service.

After it was pending, the account screen showed that billing was not active. Less than 10 minutes later it went back to active billing and I called again. The person on the line said it did show as active and instead of putting it to pending closed she cancelled it.

For all the questioning that's being done to Manabyte, there's a ridiculous either tolerance or disregard for the apparent inept customer service.

Less than 10 minutes later it went back to active billing and I called again.
how?

this sounds like imaculate conception here. status just doesn't change'

this is what it sounds like to me.
you called, they set it to pending cancelled.
you go to the website within 10 minutes, and it says active.
you get angry, stomp your feet on the floor, call them back pissed.
you call and ask them to cancel AGAIN an account that is already set to pending cancelled.

So who's right... you who say the account was already set to pending cancelled.. or Mana the actual person who already said:

"The person on the line said it did show as active and instead of putting it to pending closed she cancelled it."

Fight! Fight! Fight!

im guessing that it was confusion on both parts. the rep could have thought active as in 'can he play still. where mana thought 'active' in that im going to be rebilled still.

This entire thread comes off like Fox News, a tad bit of factual information with some great smoke and mirrors.

If we could get The Oracle to post here and tell her side of the story, this would be the best thread ever.

She probably already has, you just didn't notice because it was a different person altogether.

Ok, Manabyte, I've read this entire thread, I understand what you're trying to say, which others don't seem too. You're upset because you asked them not to bill you the 15 a month and they cancelled entire account, free month included, screwing you out of 50 bucks being the game is unreturnable. I understand all of that, but what I don't get is what you're arguement really is.

What are you so upset about? The thread was posted before you even had that problem, it was posted because you found the game "broken and unplayable" (Which doesn't sound like a fair assessment, but I digress) and now you're upset because you can't play a game you hated from the beginning? I mean, from the beginning, you knew the game was unreturnable before going into it, so you knew if there were problems that you'd be out 30 bucks to begin with, but from what you said earlier, you sound like you had no intention of ever playing again, hence why you wanted reoccuring billing stop... but you're mad now that you can't play the game? I mean, whether or not you played for that month or not, you're still out 30 bucks, you wouldn't want to play the game anyway and now you're not going to be bill 15 dollars a month. So what's the problem?

I just find it peculiar that when one person claims a new MMORPG is 'broken and unplayable' on the basis of a bad (and brief) initial experience, after making no effort to rectify the problem with the support staff, the thread gets stickied. It'd be a different story if this thread was filled with horror stories similar to Manabyte's, but since when does a single person's bad experience with a new game rate a stickied warning to 'NOT buy' it? :p Seems almost like people are itching to drive a stake through this game's heart before it's even properly begun. :p

Maybe it's because this thread is fucking hilarious.

Hopefully Manabyte will get his money back, but the ensuing verbage over this is fucking classic.

Evidentally cancelling your account cancels everything period. My coworker's brother cancelled his account after the game ran sluggishly on his system. He tried logging back in since he figured he still had the free trial, but his account had been completely cancelled.

Load of BS if you ask me. Did they not take notes from how other MMOs handle account subscriptions?
