after both betas battlefront feels like the more interesting one?
battlefront beta firmly planted me in the 'wait for ea access' camp
Not to mention there is very little advantage to using boost dash when you get killed almost instantly.
After playing the beta I truly believe that this is going to be the next big multiplayer game. The changes and new abilities actually make a ton of sense in the context of the game and are both useful and fun to use. The skill based ranking system combined with the big esports push and clan system is going to make this one of the best competitive shooters since counterstrike. It's halo for a new generation of gamers and for people that are sick of the twitch based, low TTK CoD titles and want to play something that actually requires a bit of skill well still containing fast paced adrenaline pumping gameplay from CoD.
Honestly in this day and age of games with a myriad of power ups, specials, and kill streaks 343i has gone against the grain and stripped all of that away and focus on making a well balanced tightly designed PvP game and it's incredibly refreshing and I can't think of another company that is doing that.
the only place I ever see that kind of outrageous, unreasonable negativity is here on GAF. I think most people will enjoy Halo 5. Plus the beta was amazing and I doubt the full game will be worse than the beta.No.
The world is a vastly different place to what it was when the first and second Halo launched, like it or not.
People are more negative about EVERYTHING. They'll play a game that gives them 12 hours of absolutely stellar gameplay and then bitch and whine about that one time where an enemy glitched and his legs weren't shown on screen for three seconds.
How so? The campaign design has increased the scale of every encounter by adding more verticality and optional routes. They've also brought back the huge scale fights that Halo 3 had and we haven't even see how the Guardian fights will work yet. Audio design is top notch with the sounds of the weapons, added covenant and team chatter, melee and movement sounds, and soundtrack.I don't see why people are so hyped for Halo 5 honestly. Sure it looks amazing but is still lacking in areas that Halo 4 shares such as campaign design and audio design. It is a huge "wait-and-see" for me.
yeahThe Halo titles not only live in nostalgia but they were made by a different developer, so any shortcoming is immediately attributed to "these aren't the same developers the game would be better if it was still Bungie" by probably a sizable amount of the fanbase. And as we have seen recently Bungie isn't infallible.
That's not to say it won't sell like hot cakes.
Why do people "worry" about population? Seems like the most concern troll thing ever. You can boot up Titanfall on XB1 right now and get in a game in seconds full teams. Do people think that COD and Battlefront are going to come out and the millions that bought this game are going to abandon it?....and please don't waste time posting that stupid Halo 4 population drop off graph. Even with that stupid graph you can still get into a Halo 4 match in seconds.

Stopped reading after the 2nd sentence had MCC.
SMH.
Nah. People are always looking through those nostalgia goggles, wanting to relieve the glory days. They've changed as well as the gaming landscape.
Honestly? No.

Did Bungie ditch destiny to come back to Halo?
Two systems has been 14 years. People have grown up, gone to college, gotten jobs, started families. There's plenty to be nostalgic for. What the fuck?
It was just two systems back: 360, Xbox, thats it.
What the hell is there to be nostalgic over?
Where do you people get this shit?
People disliked that the final boss in halo 4 was a fucking cutscene, because making the final boss a lameass qte cutscene is lame ass design, not because they were nostalgic.
Here's what I think is gonna happen. In fact, I'll put money on it.
I know I'm gonna love it. Plenty of people on GAF will love it. It'll be hailed as one of the funniest shooters.
Then...then the nostalgia naysers will arrive and raise their voices and pitchforks because "it doesn't feel like Halo". Stupid nitpicky complaints will come up because plain and simple, some of those guys just aren't as good at Halo anymore like they used to be...so they'll result to blaming the game.
Then the obvious will happen. New games like Battlefront, CoD, Rainbow Six will all come out all during the next month and many fans who already planned to buy those games will move on from Halo 5....just like they intended. Then those good ol' nostalgic naysers will use that as ammunition as to why the game sucks and why majority of the fans don't like it either to make them feel better about themselves, all while pretending that we're still stuck in the 2004-2007 era of Xbox Live gaming where competition for multiplayer FPS games were nearly nonexistent compared to now. Basically delusional haters who are going in with a negative attitude.
Am I right or am I right?
But to your point, hardcore gamers despise Bungie now. Might this be seen as a boon for 343i?
"We're Still Not Bungie! And Now You Hate Those Guys!"
Ten million, so you expect an attach rate of around 50%?.
A lot of the people who made Halo great left after Bungie decided to stop making Halo games.
Also EA hugely screwed the production of Destiny by enforcing that it have mass appeal. Hence the huge U-turn on the story which was entirely stripped out.
Quote me on this: Battlefront is going to have a major impact on Halo 5's player base.
I doubt it Battlefront is really boring.
Multiplayer? Yes absolutely. They're doing everything right with the core game and ranking system. The only way I can see people getting disappointed over the multiplayer is if they're only in it for BTB and Infection.
Campaign is a different story. Halo 4 wasn't disliked out of nostalgia, it was disliked because of closed levels, QTEs, bullet sponge enemies that can insta kill you, a horrible final encounter, and just an overall too short and unsatisfying experience. It's a bit harder for 343 to nail the campaign because not only do they have to fix 4's flaws, they have to create their own unique and meaningful experiences that are in line with the rest of the series.
343 is promising big encounters in 5 and it has already been confirmed that there won't be QTEs. We'll see in less than a week. Hopefully reviews will accurately showcase the game.
It genuinely won't matter, it's Star Wars.
