Will PC gaming suffer because portable gaming is becoming more popular?

Do you think Future Consoles and PC gaming will be held back visually since portables are becoming a thing and are less powerful. I get it you can always scale but I'll be honest alot of games visuallly haven't been industry shaking other than GTA 6. Only thing that I see better is the frame rates and a slightly cleaner visual.
Handheld is not good for all games spec FPS games halo example you can win but your head will have to be so far in the screen you may as well be in vr mode infact you are so far in the screen you star in the game FFS

Handheld gaming been round forever infact it's overtaken most controllers and keyboard right now
Yes mobile phone

But it's not all the games again most games are simple

Fortnight game on handheld is not good FPS games and hardcore in other words

Platform games yes amazing
Arcade games and puzzle games

The vita was amazing for platform games
Tear away little big planet and top down games
Uncharted was ok

People are hoping a console that not even created by ms it's just a sticker
Add ms app
The rog ally X has been out for years it's some deal to get em sold
Expensive

Switch and 2 has perfect size screens for gaming on the go and best balance of holding console
Also can doc them that's another issue with the Rog and steam even tho I think you can put a steam deck on the TV but again it's not the experience you really want if you own a pc

The best bet for gaming spec if you are on the move and at a price is probably a really good laptop

You are also seeing a rise of powerful gaming tablets
Also AR glasses would be amazing that connects to a smaller device that can game

Handhelds were designed to be portable experiences for the PC, not the other way around. Otherwise, developers would've upscaled Wii games to the PS3/360 because it sold a lot more consoles.

I think there's a lot of extra qualifications going on beyond the best res/fps I meant for my post. And it is. PC gaming is still king. It might be shit at times depending on the game, but that doesn't change anything. Nor do I see that changing any time soon.

Most PC gamers still play at 1080 (or even lower in laptops), if there werent multiplattform console games to play and the software was released with only PC in mind the games would be targeted for far lower specs.

How is 54inch gonna fight 7inch. Isn't bigger is better.
Unless bigger gets 5000$ price tag, PC gaming will be alive, thrive and dominate.
Alive and thrive OK. But dominate? Pc gaming has never dominated, in the 80s it was the worst option to play, in the 90s it got better but aside a couple highlights (Lucas Arts adventures, Doom, Quake) it was a far worse option, in the 2000s it was a mess until Steam grew, and even now that everything goes OK for it still trails behind console gaming (52/53 billion for consoles and 43/44 for PC worldwide)

This again? Michael Pachter said iPad would replace consoles 10+ years ago. How's that worked out? And what does this have to do with the topic?
Revenuewise Android and Apple both are around or even ahead of Sony and Nintendo?
I think he might have meant financial success and thus importance and influence within electronic entertainment, ie what systems get done/copied in regards to f2p and p2w. Areas where mobile makes a lot of money.

Yup, he wasn't wrong.

Suffer from getting more optimized to run well even in weak hardware? 4 k textures is something I rarely notice, but framedips or low IQ is so glaring. I would be happy if games focused on getting rid of that.

Most of pc gamers don't have a 5090 and never will.
